My mom graciously planned a spa weekend for me a week before my wedding. We invited our girls and headed across the state. It was a great time. The room was gorgeous, the beds comfortable, but the best part was the beach access. We thoroughly enjoyed the nearby restaurants and shopping. It was the best girls trip Ive ever had. So many memories made. The facial and massage was wonderful. I definitely want to plan a romantic trip back with my now husband. What a lovely place!

Very nice little resort. The room was gorgeous and spacious. Our king Ocean view room was tricky, our window did have an ocean view but our balcony was actually on the side of the building, it was a bit sneaky of them. The restaurant was delicious, we had brunch there and it was very very good. Drinks were wonderful and waiters and most of the staff were very professional and polite. The staff down on the beach were not, they were polite and attentive but one had a girl all over him the whole time, one was throwing umbrellas with sharp ends like spears over in a pile, we couldnt really relax. It seemed very unresort like. The pool and lazy river are really amplified in the pictures, they werent worth getting in. The lazy river looked yellow and is very small, the pool is also tiny. The pool was a disappointment. Fortunately for us though, we were only there for a day and planned to go out so it wasnt a trip killer. I wouldnt choose this resort for another trip, but we enjoyed it for an overnight stay. It would probably have been fun with our kids, small and easy to manage, but for a couples getaway, I think we could find something better.

We stayed here for a few nights. We frequently stay in 4-5 star locations and figured this one sounded very nice. This one didnt live up to our expectations. The rooms were small we had four of us staying and thought there was a separate room. Turns out its a weird little living room. We were oceanside with private terrace and while we could enjoy the ocean view, there was only room for two with cheap outdoor furniture. The beds were small with cheap linens. For the price paid I do expect to sleep in a comfortable bed with nice linens.we dined in their restaurant 4 of us 300.00 the food was ok not a whole lot of flavor. Again for the money I expect more. The pool was small. The beach was nice with service provided . In my opinion the best service was the beach service and the valet. The overall staff was more concerned with mask compliance rather than guest experience and satisfaction. There was a constant misinformation between the staff which is very irritating.

I’ve been coming here for years. I love spending time with my family here on vacation. Either lounging in the lazy river, or tanning on the beach, which never feels overcrowded. The staff is always friendly. Food is quite expensive, and not the best. I normally just order take out when staying, it costs less and normally taste better. Drinks are ok. Parking is quite expensive. Getting them on the phone is either a hit or miss situation. Will continue to come here as tradition.

Was super nice and comfy. Stayed in an ocean front suit which was spacious and had a soft renovation recently.Beach was beautiful and pool area was super fun for kids and family but probably not ideal for travelers looking to relax without kids. They should probably head straight to the beach.I would recommend as a good hotel but the pictures of the room were a little misleading. They showed a beautiful deap soaking bath but our room didnt have one.

The hotel is crazy well located, just a few steps to the water. We stayed at the Sun Tower which is also as close as this one but we came to the Grand Pelican a few times for the restaurant and the beach activities. The restaurant is very nice and the menu is excellent. 5 stars here! The beach activities are fun but the customer service is terrible, the kid working there is always on the phone and barely pays attention or looks you in the eyes. Then you go out and the activity is very dangerous. 1 start here.Overall 3, they have to put serious people to handle the beach activities...

Absolutely horrible experience. Booked a suite for a beautiful birthday weekend with my partner and friends and when we arrived to check in, we weren’t allowed to park on property because they had an event. We were directed to park at an old church a half mile away and walk back. No shuttle service nor security were offered. We cancelled and walked away. No assistance, no supervisor, nothing. Others that had arrived at the same time were also turned away. They must be doing fantastic $$$ since they don’t need the clientele. We ended up down the street at the W FORT LAUDERDALE and are now experiencing excellent customer service and a wonderful 2bedroom suite.

Average rooms and amenities, WAY over priced and staff are not very friendly or attentive. The views are pretty from the balcony and very picturesque. DO NOT order the room service, extremely expensive and the menu is online. The exterior and indoors is very run down and looks aged, rust and dirt everywhere and almost no landscaping. They have no ambiance and the parking is ridiculous at 39.00$ a day. They are almost 30 other hotels and resorts on this strip and all exceed this location, choose one of those instead.

I stayed here five nights in February 2019 and had a wonderful time. The hotel is right on the beach and has a very good restaurant attached, as well as a small store for extra drinks, sunscreen, etc. I was worried about construction noise, per other reviews, but checked in early and requested a renovated room which we got. It’s definitely worth upgrading to the ocean view. The pool was nice, but small, and despite being told the lazy river would be open on our second day, it never opened up while we were there (it was under construction). The furnishings and finishing a were beautiful, the room was very clean, and the service was friendly. We encountered a few less than friendly employees throughout our stay, but for the most part, everyone was very warm and hospitable. The beach was lovely and we were able to get beach chairs and an umbrella every day. It would have been nice to have a parking option other than valet, but at $35 a day and 24 hour access it was actually a good deal. Not much within walking distance, but a short (5-10 minute) drive either way up the road provides access to plenty of restaurants and shops.

Came here for the first time and it was like a breath of fresh air. A beautiful resort. Swimming pool is smaller compared to others but there’s a freakin lazy river! How cool is that? It was actually a deciding factor, but how about the beautiful exterior? I smile every time I drive by.The bathtub was dirty with someone else’s hair when we arrived and the room seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while since the last guests. Which may be due to COVID-19. The front desk had house keeping come to clean it up which was nice of the both of them.Customer service there was fantastic. Especially the server, Renee at their restaurant. We will definitely be back. I wish they did a timeshare program!

We enjoyed the space. Looks like the rooms have been remodeled recently. The service has lots of room for improvement. We went down to the restaurant at 10:30 am and were told they would be closed until 11:30am. This was not made know to us previously. When we were out at the pool, the guy setting up chairs did a great job. The poolside waiter never came around to provide for the guests. We ended up going inside and asking for someone to help us. A member of the staff did eventually come out. We ordered one drink and had to go in again to ask for our bill. He could not find ours for the longest time.Later that day we tried going to get a meal from the restaurant which again was closed. The front desk staff had smiles on their faces! The management of the hotel needs improved before we would consider staying here again. We did find out the property is under new management during our stay. I can only imagine how bad it was before if this is the upgraded version.

Even without that, the service has been impeccable. The guys who help you on the beach are the hardest working and friendliest guys I have ever met. The front desk staff is quick and attentive and the bartender makes amazing cocktails. They also have 1/2 off happy hour in the bar which never hurts. The room was really nice and comfortable however the service wasn’t good. We called ahead to check out at 1pm instead of 11am hours before but someone still came up at 11am and knocked very aggressively telling us we needed to get out. Also the food was overpriced considering the quality and the fact that there was no room service which they didn’t tell us before hand. Also the gym only exists to say that there is a gym. We only stayed for a night at Pelican Grand but it was a pleasant stay and will definitely include in future travel plans. The property shows age on the exterior but has a nice character and feel on the inside. It has an old timely resort feel to it. They could definitely use renovation in their resort bar, but once you have few drinks does not matter.Although I forgot to take pictures of the room, it was fantastic. I got beach apartment feel and nice beach decor. The staff was super helpful and amazing. All our modest request was met promptly. The breakfast was really good, I had to skip lunch. Also they have an ice cream parlor in the hotel which is great since you can enjoy outside on nice warm night which we did gazing at the stars. Great place, great service, great staff.

This is an edit to my previous review where I had given them a 1 star due to an unpleasant customer service experience I had over the phone. When I called regarding a hurricane and was told they were not meteorologists after days of trying to reach them to rearrange my stay due to the unforeseen terrible weather and beach closure.Anyway, I was able stay after reaching out to change the date and I have to say the place and service is 5 starts. I’m only giving it 4 because I can’t overlook the first incident and how difficult it was to get a hold of them through the phone, otherwise I would have gladly given them the maximum.Ronnie, our waiter was fabulous, he was handling a big crowd and we always had a drink in hand. The rooms are were and spacious, the restaurant staff very nice.I highly recommend this place, but reach them through email. You will not regret staying with them, honestly.

We returned to Pelican Grand this week for a family stay-cation after not having been here in 12 years! The location and hotel is just beautiful. We love that there is a separate living room so that our daughter can have her own space with pull out couch. The room did have a (small) coffee machine (wanted to mention as some reviews said the rooms didnt have one) and a fridge. Valet is expensive but this is Fort Lauderdale, to be expected. We didnt dine in so I cant comment on the restaurant. Poolside drinks were pricey and just ok. Probably wouldnt indulge in those again. The fitness center was small but clean and almost always unoccupied so it worked out well. The front desk was friendly and helpful! Housekeeping tidied our room daily while we were out. Some reviews said the hotel wasnt very clean but I didnt find that to be the case at all. We loved our stay! Also recommend going to the roof via the 11th floor to enjoy the terrific view.

The hotel has a lot of potential but employees are rude. At check in I received a room that was not the one I purchased through Hotels.com. Luis Gutierrez (which Im not sure that is his real name was very unprofessional at the check in process and the only thing that wanted was for me to pay $75 dollars additional for a room upgrade.) The lazy river and pool needs to be clean more often, they were dirty. The chair service at the beach had the same problem personal made you feel like you were bothering them and they were doing you a favor. I had the pleasure of enjoying the Pelican Grand for a relaxing beach weekend a couple of weeks ago. The Pelican Grand is quite the Fort Lauderdale staple, you get that traditional luxury feeling the moment you step onto the property. It’s located right on the beach and the sand is just steps from your room. We had a massive ocean view suite that was absolutely to die for. The room felt completely brand new and incredibly clean, with plenty of room to stretch out and relax. They have a wonderful little pool right on the beach and an AMAZING lazy river. Nothing better than floating down a lazy river with a pina colada in hand! All the food, drinks, and staff were amazing, shout out to Brian at the pool - He was outstanding! I HIGHLY recommend Ocean 2000 for dinner and brunch, the food was SO GOOD! I also had a chance to try out the spa which has the most gorgeous views, it was so calming, tranquil, and relaxing. If I could give 0 stars I would. We were scheduled for April and of course we had to reschedule for June 4th. We went last year and it was great. I called 3 times asked if everything was good every time yes we are open everything is normal not problems. When we get there I had scheduled the penthouse suite. They informed us they have no room service (not a big deal) but no housekeeping. They will not clean the room, etc. I stated we are paying over $4,000 and we can’t have our room cleaned? We were there for 7 nights. First I called not one person told me that they stated they were normal. I told them just give me a regular suite instead of the big one. We come on vacation so we don’t have to make the beds clean the toilets etc. so we went to the suite and of course we stay at the beach all the time there is sand everywhere we have to clean the room. Buy a broom, mop, toilet cleaner. RIDICULOUS! We used the iron there was black all over it ruined the white shirt. We called for another iron after three calls (no one answers at the front desk) finally they bring one up and the lady is so rude. We ran out of toilet paper couldn’t get anyone to answer the phones at the desks so we have to use Kleenex. They do not give you a discount NOTHING!! I ask for the general manager to call me three times NOTHING! $2900 dollars and we slept in the same sheets, cleaned our own room and they don’t even have the decency to call us and talk about the problems. We will tell everyone we know not to go. Also the bottom of the door was ripped off and the flooring was coming up in our room. Very disappointed!!!!!’

The only issue I had was that the shower wasnt very hot (it was barely warm), and the hotel could offer a complimentary coffee station rather than $3 per cup and not offering until 7am. With that said, I would stay at this hotel again.

This is the perfect couple get away. The resort is right on the beach and chairs/towels are provided. There is a small pool with a lazy river if youre not in the mood for beach. The rooms are gorgeous and super comfy and clean. The spa is bonus. The restaurant is great and they do room service.

Everything about the resort was great. Very accommodating. The manager even waived the resort fees, since rooms werent supplied like they usually were due to Covid. The view from the balcony was the greatest. Will be staying again in the near future.

They have rules that made feel in high school again the security guard was rude. One of the waitress on the pool was also super rude. I am not going back to that hotel even if is for free

Best Sunday brunch in Ft. Lauderdale. The buffet is delicious. Everything! Plenty of food, beautiful beach view while dining on unlimited shrimp, prime rib, oysters on the half shell, a cheese station, desserts, eggs benedict, omelet and waffle stations, bacon, sausage and so much more. Also included are unlimited bloody Marys and mimosas. Its best to make reservations because its always crowded.I love this place and it is worth every dime. Its an amazing waterfront dining experience. I have never stayed as a guest but the hotel/resort is beautiful. Valet parking and wonderful customer service from the moment you pull up until you leave. If you can visit, by all means do so.

Service from the front office team was just horrible. Nit sure service or hospitality are part of their vocabulary. A simple question about room service hours was met with outright rudeness. Same experience with our check in and check out experience. Valet and Spa service was great. I think the resort fee is for the attitude. I am happy to pay for service and cleanliness. Did not have any special requests, not one. I was so disappointed. It was the last stop of our girls get away. Spent two days at the resort. If it wasnt for the service from the spa team and the helpfulness of the valet we would have checked out. The gentleman who checked us in and checked is out couldnt have been less helpful and rude if he tried. Complete waste of money. Will never return. We booked the breakfast package, did not use it either morning but asked if we could use it on day of check out, no you cant. We did not ask for any amount above and beyond the $40 credit per day, just wanted to apply one of the unused days. You would have thought we asked for our stay to be comped. The world was coming to an end. How dare we make such a request. The internet never worked during our entire stay unless we were in the lobby. Room service was the only other positive experience we had.

We expected that the stay would be different during Covid. Hotel was very vigilant on masks and cleanliness. There were a few things that needed attention such as the dining service and the pool asthetics. Ive been there a few times and the pool needs a lot of attention. Pipes and weeds visible. It needs some TLC. Its been that way for years. Doesnt take much but for what they are charging theres no excuse for it to look that way. Rooms were redone and very nice.

The hotel has a lot of potential but employees are rude. At check in I received a room that was not the one I purchased through Hotels.com. I got a Ocean view and they said that meant partial ocean view. We ate at the beach and restaurant food quality is good but we ordered at the beach and the food arrived 1 1/2 hour later :(. I definitely do not recommend the hotel to anyone)

Recently renovated and my city view room was quite nice and included an outdoor sitting area. On my last visit I had an ocean view and honestly I was just as happy on the other side of the hotel. There is one shop where you can purchase your morning coffee and newspaper. I was in town to help a friend so was not able to use any of their amenities, for which you will pay a $35 daily fee upon checkout, and rooms are not inexpensive. But oh my, nothing is better than a glass of wine on that lovely porch at the end of the day while listening to some live music.

Oceanside room was amazing. Big windows allow you to view the ocean from your bed. Balcony. Nice relaxing room design.Service is excellent. Minor complaints: USB ports didn’t work. Room wasn’t cool and I arrived late so it made it hard to get to sleep.Overall though it is a great hotel.

Place was very well run. Old school Miami style art deco decor. The was very welcoming and charming. View from the ocean view suite was breathtaking. Rooms were flowy and large.Resort fees 39 a night on top of 39 a night to park was a bit overwhelming. Especially in a time of covid where they dont even clean your room.Third night in the fire alarm went off at 2am wailing to the three kids and forced is to evacuate. No emergency official showed up or management. The house keeper told us she go back in is safeFinally got back up got the kids back to sleep and its goes off again! Terrified the kids and ruined our night and morning. No explanation offered which I found very strange. The pool that gotten some criticism in past reviews. We found it perfect. Dirty in some days but its tough being so close to the beach with sand. The biggest take away is the employee Brian who tends they pool area. What can I say Ive never seen someone work so hard so consistently. This guy is a magician, the ways he flows around and makes sure every single family is taken care of at all times. Have been all around the world and have never seen an employee that is so dedicated and consistent in his craft. Kuddos Brian I hope they treat you well.Ocean was why we came. Besides being full of discarded trash (why wouldnt you clean it every day) it was beautiful.
