We had an extended stay at the Merriweather, as we were in the process of retiring (relocating) to Florida and we were very pleased with both the accommodations and the service provided. The property was spotless. The manager Maryjo was so accommodating to both us and our 14 year old dog Bailey. She goes out of her way to insure that her quests are satisfied in every way with their stay and that reflects the same with her housing staff. We have been coming to Florida for many years on vacation and have stayed at various establishments. We would have to say that the Merriweather ranks high on our list.

The personal service and friendly staff are what make this resort such a great place to stay. Right from the start Mary Joe made us feel like family. Gave us up to date information about where to eat, great places to see, and how to save money on our vacation. She also introduced us to people that were staying at the resort who are from our home state. We will only stay there from now on when vacationing. If theres no vacancies then we will choose to visit when there are vacancies. Thank You so much MaryJoe and staff.

We had the best time on our stay here. The location is perfect. It was a short easy walk on to the beach. We were next to restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is a CVS that is open 24 hours and is super convenient to walk to. The room was impeccable. The moment we walked in me and my husband both commented on how wonderful it smelled and how clean it was. The staff are so nice and attentive. Mary Jo is a sweetheart. We got the opportunity to chat with her throughout our stay and she made us feel welcomed and special. Dogs are welcomed which if you love dogs this is a plus because there were 2 chilling in the front office upon our arrival. They were so sweet! The pool is nice and clean. We will absolutely be coming back to stay here without a doubt.

Love this place. The resort manager(Mary Jo) is an absolute sweetheart. The room we have is spacious and the kitchen is pretty well put together to cook what you need. The pool isnt large, but its very clean as is all of the resort. There are gas BBQs as well as an outside seating area that can be used by guests. The resort is also right across the street from the beach and its a nice area. There are shops close by such as CVS, and touristy shops. Plenty of restaurants and quite a few bars are close by as well. All in all, I look forward to staying here again at some point. I would highly recomend it.

AAAAA+ Our 6th year in a row. Great place for a vacation. Super friendly and helpful staff, beachfront, salt water pool, Wi-Fi and dog friendly. MaryJo is an absolute pleasure to deal with. She always gives us options and makes sure we get a great unit.The Merriweather is centrally located exactly where you want to be. If you dont want to prepare food in your apartment or order out, you can easily walk to several excellent restaurants within a block or two.Every year we meet very nice guests with and without families. Its a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We look forward to returning to The Merriweather every year.

We stay at the Merriweather Resort for 3 weeks in January. We have stayed there in a previous year and this aided our decision to return as we knew what we would be getting so to speak. We were treated like family. The pool and room was clean snd the staff were exceptional. The manager and staff are notorious for their love of animals. We have two small dogs and appreciate that they are always welcome should we decide to take them.

We love it but dont tell anyone. And if you dont like dogs dont stay here

This is a hidden gem among giant hotels. Three floors of great rooms! Service is awesome and the idea of the beach a minute away, across A1A is ideal. Every room has a view of the beach. Will continue to come back year after year!!! Why wouldn’t I!!!

My husband and I stayed at the merriweather this past May with friends, this was our third or fourth time, but I just want to say we wouldnt stay anywhere else. The location is great, the rooms are clean and the staff is very accomodating and friendly. We also fell in love with Charlotte , Mary Jos pitbull. Who we are hoping to adopt. Love it!

The owner of this establishment is very professional and engaged with thecustomers. The rooms, in my experience, are clean and homey while also being affordable and close to popular restaurants, bars, and other attractions.

We stayed on the 3rd floor, penthouse suit. 2 big bedrooms, mine had jacuzzi tub, full shower and huge 2 sink counter. Thé other bedroom, full bath. Both rooms with king beds. Huge open livingroom and full kitchen. 2 porches overlooking ft. Lauderdale beach.

Great little vintage hotel / timeshare. Great management and great location. Pet friendly and guest friendly.

What a hidden gem! It is located right next to the Ritz Carlton on the main Fort Lauderdale strip. Rooms were very clean and bed comfortable. Pool is heated and brand new. Full service kitchen. There are citibikes right next door too, so if u dont rent a car its easy to get around if need be. They even supply u with beach chairs/ towels if available. We had a great time and Mary Joe was so accommodating, a must visit resort! :-)

It started to rain. We wanted to check in. The lady at the front didn’t believe we wanted to check in and kicked us out because we looked too young. Even made the guy with peanut allergies pick up seeds that we accidentally dropped. Not worth the $250 a piece we paid.
