This is literally my absolute favorite thing to do in Eureka. The Captain is super informative. You get to see Eureka in a whole new light. Best part, it is home to the smallest bar in the state of California!

I really enjoy the area along the water, the folks that keep up the stretches of trails and boardwalk and a plethora of other responsibilities, do a great job.

Possibly the single most satisfying experience to be had in Eureka - and certainly among the best in the county.Cruise the bay on The Madaket and enjoy a drink from Californias smallest licensed bar while taking in the sea air & the narrated tour of the bays history - or join the kids on the AM educational cruise. Better yet, try one of the rare seasonal treats - the Sunset/Moonrise trip (once or twice a season, spectacular!) or the July 4th Under The Fireworks cruise (unfortunately this one gets booked up a year in advance, every year) - there are others too, check out their website!Whichever cruise you choose, you will remember it for a long time to come.

Great weather to begin. Then the fog rolled in. It got very cold, but they had blankets on board. It was great seeing all the boats and ships in the harbor.

The harbor cruise is awesome! I always take my visitors. I still feel bad about the time I expressed doubt that the pilot was a real sea captain. She is, and when shes not pointing out all the cool stuff and piloting Californias smallest licensed bar around the scenic bay shes doing what Capns do on the mighty Pacific.

Just sit right back and youll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip. That started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship.... Ok,ok, so it wasnt fateful and it wasnt tropical. But it is a tiny ship. And it kinda felt like a 3 hour tour. To be honest, its high on regional history, low on excitement. Dont get me wrong, it was very relaxing, it was a beautiful day on the water. But how much do you need to know about the lumber mills of the Pacific Northwest? But then I guess you have to work with what you got. And the crew did a good job of that.

The narrated tour of Humbolt Harbor was absolutely amazing. And to be a passenger on a vessel used as a ferry to the mill families over 100 years ago was an honor. Our guide pointed out wildlife and informed us on the rich history of the area as well as current milling activities, exports, and uses for by products. With the Madaket being a smaller vessel, there is not a bad seat on the boat. But book on line or get there early because space is limited. I highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic way to see and learn about Humboldt Bay. The captain shared a wealth of knowledge about the history, geography, wildlife, economy, and local lore. Top that off with the smallest licensed bar in California and you have a great way to spend a few hours.

Very nice tour. The captain and guide for the tour was an excellent woman that provided a pleasant mixture of historical information on buildings and land as well as plenty of humor. She was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and port industry and added a lot to the tour.We were fortunate enough to go on the tour when the fog cleared up too.

Really fun adventure to bring the family on. The captain was really knowledgeable about the area and the history. If you want to learn more about the region in a unique and fun setting this trip is for you. Our little passengers had a great time. There are snacks and drinks available for purchase on the boat as well. Just the perfect amount of time if you have little kids. You stay in the channel for the entire trip so no need to worry about big waves or feeling sea sick. This is a fun adventure that I would highly recommend.

I love a harbor cruise. I have been on quite a few-all over the world. This one is right at the top. The boat is so small that it makes for a much more intimate experience. The combination of the historical boat and the natural beauty and interest all around, and just the fascinating history of Humboldt Bay itself makes for a wonderful time on the water. I loved it so much that I am returning in a week to do the Eco-tour. The captain is awesome. So friendly and she obviously loves the area and has a deep understanding of ships and the industrial history, as well as the natural history of the bay. The mate was super friendly and mixed a tasty drink too! Just do this tour!

We had a great time cruising around the harbor, it was $10.00 for an hour it was the 5:30 cocktail cruise. The captain and crew were women, one of the young ladies family owned the boat and she was planning on becoming a captain herself, we felt she has the experience of being on the water knows the Dos and donts ect . If we get a chance we will do it again.
