I think this a great home for the animals. The enclosures are well made that allow a lot of the more solitary animals to stay out of sight if they choose which is great for reducing stress in animals. While some kids may get bored because the tigers and lions are in corners its great for the animals. Also there is a lot of great information spread though out the zoo so is a great learning opportunity. They have a great focus on bringing awareness to the human threat to animals and habitats. All in all a great zoo. They have also been great with covid and keeping the area safe and clean.

Weve been members for years. The Zoo keeps upgrading, adding animals and weve noticed the zoo staff is amazing to the animals. No forced behaviors; if the ant-eater doesnt want to come out for treats, she stays where she is. As humane as it gets, and loved by my kids.

Used to love this place. Fare is fair priced and lots of animals to see. Since pandemic I have taken my kid there twice, at least 40% of the visitors DID NOT wear masks or pulled masks down to neck level. With park officers nowhere to find and no one cares to enforce safety protocols, I will not take my kid there until pandemic is completely over.

We love Dallas zoo and we have a membership. It is very large and we easily get our 15000 steps or more in, if were up for it!! All the animals are beautiful and unique, and very well cared for. There are restrooms at every section. Restraunts are well priced and have great food choices. Their events and shows are awesome, never miss them! We cant wait for the Christmas lighting which was out of the world last year!!

The family absolutely loved our drive through the Dallas Zoo. The teaming of the Dallas Zoo and Reliant Energy was a huge hit with my family. We dont have young kids. My significant other and I are both 60 and our kids are 28, 24 and 23. However everyone had a blast looking at the lights. We even got Mcflueries on our way home. It was a great experience for all.

Because of the pandemic, the zoo was not crowded. One has ample time to wander or observe the animals that were out to view. On a personal observation, it seemed like the animals were bored, or lacked excitement, because there were no crowds. I couldnt give a higher rating because the experience was dull. Ill give this a second trip when times are better.

Nice place to visit with reasonable entry fee and parking fee. Did book both online. Most animals are tired when I visited on 6th Sep 2020. Giraffe, Elephants, Chimpanzee, Lions and Tiger is my favorite in today’s visit. Lion and Chimpanzee was very close to window so had a clear view. You can feed the Giraffes. They have some big collection of snakes cobra family snakes were big in length. The mono rail safari is closed probably due to corona. Food is pretty costly but they are available and seating is spread out. Most people do respect social distancing which is appreciable.

We went to the zoo over the weekend and had a great time! Everyone was wearing masks and social distancing. We waited in line at the reptile house because it is limited occupancy. The same at the gift shop. The workers in the gift shop were so helpful and very friendly. The caretakers who were feeding the lions when we came by were great and answered questions for us. We saw other workers going through and sanitizing benches and other surfaces. The animals were very interactive too. The snakes were moving around a lot, the monkeys were swinging all over their enclosures, the gorilla enjoyed having an audience, etc. It was a great experience!

We had fun but theyre not really accommodating to having guests right now. Paths are one way, all the restaurants and most kiosks are closed, and the ones that are open are super expensive (10 dollars for a small icee and a small cup of soft serve ice cream, and 4 dollars for a bottled drink from one of the vending machines). The gift shop was closed, and most benches have been removed. Most of the indoor enclosures were closed as well. I understand theyre doing this because of COVID but those indoor enclosures are the only areas with A/C and it gives people a quick break from the over 100 degree heat outside. A lot of stores are open, but making people wear masks inside...so why not the indoor places at the zoo? Its kinda like they want you to run by, see the animals really quick and then leave. Other than that, it was nice seeing the few animals we could see.

Decent zoo. Expected a lot more for a zoo in Dallas. The Safari ride was not active. Giraffe feeding was cool. Kids loved hand feeding a giraffe. Was pleasantly surprised to see everybody wearing mask and trying to take turns at the exhibits. Lions were hiding in their exhibit and couldnt be seen for a couple of hours. My biggest gripe is the food... they dont have coca cola or Pepsi. Just Dr Pepper. The food at the cafe next to the Lion exhibit was pathetic. They took 30 mins to get 2 less than mediocre burgers and fries ready. The $3 train ride is nothing great. Kids loved the small stream that they could wade in at the childrens zoo. Was able to cover the whole zoo with 2 toddlers in about 4 hrs including an hour for lunch.

The Dallas Zoo is really nice. Its easy to navigate around without having to back track... so the flow continually keeps moving you on to the next display. There were 3 displays that had Zoo employees out front telling all about the animals and answering any/all questions you have. They were very knowledgeable. The Giraffes were awesome and there were 2 little giraffes, one being 3 months and the other just 3 wks old. They have anti-bacterial stations all over the place and plenty of accessible bathrooms that were clean and well kept. My granddaughter, her other grandmom (Nanny), and I all went together.

They ranged from the cubs were out of the habitat resting to they were doing maintenance and they would be back soon. It lasted less than 20 minutes. Every time weve gone, different animals stood out to us. The lemurs and otters were hilarious today. The first time we visited, we enjoyed the elephants and the giraffes. The second visit, we enjoyed the gorillas.Weve enjoyed our visits in the winter much better than the summer. The lines are much shorter, parking is easier and you dont have to endure the summer heat. The only downside is that some of the exhibits are not open if the temperature is too cold. This is one of the better zoos Ive visited. Although, I still enjoy the Omaha zoo better.
