I had a beautiful strol with my wife through thos area. While there was a little trash laying around, it was serene and peaceful. The regulars were friendly and all observed dogs were leashed. It felt safe.

Lovely little lake great place to take a dip, fish or try paddle boarding or kayaking. We had our young sons on the kayaks with us and had a great time! Very nice military people hanging out at the lake.

This park gets plenty of use from the locals year round, ranging from fishing, kayaking and paddle-boarding, to hiking the trail which circles this small but beautiful lake. The locals are polite and courteous... A great time for all nature lovers. The hike is short and of easy difficulty.

Participated in standee up boarding with Dragonfly Paddle. This little lake was pretty busy for a Sunday morning, definitely be prepared to hunt for a parking spot. It was nice seeing people out with their dogs and families, jogging, fishing, walking, and doing water sports. Very nice area.

I love Quail Lake. I lived nearby for a year and took my dog for walks there nearly every day. It can get a bit crowded on nice days, but the views of the mountains, lake, and people watching make it a great experience. A true gem in the city.

We love paddle boarding here. It is quiet and has lovely views. However, the lake and surrounding area is filthy. A fish hook got stuck in my SUP bag by the trees on my last visit. There is trash everywhere. There are also not many places to go the bathroom. They need more bathrooms and trash cans. Up keep at this area is vital for the animals, the environment, and for us, who love coming here with our kids.

Beautiful scenery lake. But the parking lot is very small, so a lot of cars need to park at the side of the road.Great for boating and fishing. Not recommended swimming but some people enjoyed swimming though.

Quail lake is a perfect place for peace and fishing on the west side of the lake there is a play ground on the north side there is a boat ramp .... Also a fishing ramp on the north side of you want to be in more trees and bushes go to the south side anywhere you go here though its beautiful and the mountains are huge looking from this spot

Very pleasantly surprised by this park! Large lake for boating / kayaking. Fishing galore. Little private beach areas to hang out on as well. I really enjoyed the hike around the lake - there is a main trail and one thats a bit rougher, closer to the little beaches. One mile around, so easy to do. Saw several folks on bikes, jogging, and walking. I recommend this park to anyone when visiting Colorado Springs!

Such a chill lake. Just big enough to kayak and not be next to anyone. Had a great time with a girlfriend.

I live Quail lake. It s close by, you can fish, there is a pretty big playground and a trail that pretty much a mile (if I remember correctly) around the lake. Cheyenne mountain is in the back ground and its gorgeous especially in the morning. When it snows its a great place to go sledding.

Been there many times since the early 80s. The trail is nice and the lake is good for kayaking but parking is the downside. Many people park along the road to the north but while I was there last weekend, parking enforcement was writing tickets. You can park along the damn but dont go outside the posted signs.. they received tickets too.

Sweet place for a sweet date! Lots of birds, dogs, fish, and bunnies that bring a sweet smile to your heart. Beautiful view of the mountain. Gravel and dirt trails are easy for children and even people with back problems. Wear shoes with traction (not your chucks!) Some areas are slippery if it has recently rained or snowed.

I lived by this lake people always there fishing or at the playground or just going for a run I used to go for runs all the time there events people on the water but its always busy there even during the winter its a nice relaxing place to be. busy as in people there and enjoying their time not like at a bar or restaurant waiting to be seated or packed I miss the lake

Not a big fan. Lots of garbage and dead fish, murky water, and just generally dirty. The lake itself is beautiful but the pollution and fish smell ruin it. I will say that most of the people who fish here are super nice and dog-friendly.

I dont want too many people knowing about this wonderful little tucked away spot ;)

Me & my little Zoey had a blast! Really beautiful lake, people are nice. It could use a crew to come pickup all the garbage everywhere though. Maybe if they provided more trashcans because I didnt see one designated place for refuse anywhere. Other than that nice place to take my dog for a walk, take a boat or paddle board out, and good fishing as well! I recommend!

A nice lake to take a hike around. You can fish with a license or paddle board for a small fee. There is also a rental place if you dont own a paddle board.

Very nice and maintained park and lake. There is additional parking further up the road that I dont think a lot of people know about. That parking is next to a very nice play area with restrooms.

Good clean family place to go. Big enough to paddle board,swim,kayak and fish. The grounds are clean and even a ice cream trucks comes through.

A small sized lake with some wildlife and fish, nice loop around the park makes for an ice walk with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Mostly quiet and accessible in winter months and popular in warmer months.

We actually like coming here to paddleboard but usually come later in the day and weekdays. However, Saturday we thought that 6 pm would be good to bring our boards. But, it wasnt. People everywhere, smoking weed, drinking, partying, recipe for disaster. We left and wont attempt that again. Went to monument lake instead and had an awesome time!

Definitely a cute little lake to go fishing and paddleboarding or even just to go and get in the water (dont forget your water shoes since there is rocks). A lot of people go jogging around the perimeter and even take their doggies out for a walk. The only downside is the parking, make sure you get there early enough to get a space on the side of the street or the little parking area they have (which is only like 30 spaces max). Other than that, if you wanna get our of your house for a little while and dont want to go somewhere far, go here and enjoy yourself a bit.

Very clean of a fishing park that also allows swimming and floating rafts and has very healthy and great sized fish of up to 20 or so inches and mostly 14 inches.

Love it here. We like to go on walks and this is a great place to walk. Has a hill to give you a small challenge and get your heart pumping. Also. Great place for the kiddos because of the playground. Also has a full court. One draw back is that the rims are double rimmed but I think thats standard now a days. There is a beautiful lake that is a pretty site. Like I said I love it here!

Water looked clear, a lot of people fishing, those on waterboards looked like they were enjoying it, nice hiking trail aro UK and the lake, and it had a nice playground and grass area for those who have younger children.

Lake was partially frozen. It was awesome.

Excellent trout fishing hole, also has some pretty large carp. Great scenic views, boating, and of course fishing. Love coming here with the kiddos.

Get there early enough and youre the only one on the lake! Great for early morning kayaking or paddle boarding.

Really nice hidden treasure in the area. Quiet and peaceful and good moderate size. Beautiful view and a great spot. It does get crowded quick and there is not a lot of parking but if you can go during a quiet time it’s definitely great for a walk with your dog or just a moment of reflection.

This is a great little park! Plenty to do and is beautiful. Great place to bring your kids and dogs to walk run or play. Theres a playground, picnic tables and a 1/2 mile loop trail around the lake to run or walk and they allow swimming, boating (seen a guy out on a canoe) and fishing! Highly recommend this park.

A beautiful lake with lots of fish, a walking path, and plenty of sunshine. Non motorized so it’s great for kayaks and SUPs. Can get crowded on the weekends and late in the day so beware. Overall, a great park.

Nice lake with great views of the mountains. There’s 2 parking lots that get pretty full on the weekends. There were lots of people fishing around the lake and on the piers. There’s a dirt loop trail around the lake that’s about half a mile as well as a playground.

Bring a lunch and park the car along Quail Lake Rd, theres a nice view of the lake from there. I didnt see many picnic tables, if any, on the eastern side of the lake.

Caught 13 fish and a turtle on fathers day. Great experience! I only wish there was less plastic everywhere its not safe for all the birds

This is a cute park and perfect to go for a walk around. Im coming back next time with my kayak to float on the water, which many people were doing.The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the bathrooms are very exposed. I was able to ask my husband to stand in the doorway for me, but if standing in front of the womens toilet, you can be seen from the park. Maybe this is to discourage loitering (or something else?) but its at too high a cost in my opinion.

Great little place to fish lots of people come out. all around fun just go early enough to get a parking spot and a spot by the water I would say atleast by 9 am

Grew up by this lake. Not too big but big enough for a nice run or walk around it, a place to sit and clear your head, someplace to fish with the little little ones, or even let the dogs fetch and swim or take your kayak. Not as dirty as many other smaller lakes and seasonal public restrooms and a playground. The hill is SICKKK seeding in the winder

Fun but way too many people. Fish were curious but not biting. Live bait is the key.

This place used to be so nice! Now it’s a homeless car camp and meth lab motorhomes. Since when is overnight camping allowed?

Its beautiful a nice, free ,clean environment that has boating fishing and a clean atmosphere.

We like walking around the lake and walking our dogs. But sometimes it seems like there are drug addicts hanging around there.

I come here for running usually, and its a great spot to measure my runs (~1 mile around the lake). Sometimes it gets a bit crowded with fishing, recreation, etc. , but thats why its there! Paddleboarding is fun here too.

The scenery is good but this is a very average place to cool off. We went there to paddleboard, but didnt get to because covid. Nothing on the website stated that the paddleboarding times would be cut off at 2pm, it says 6pm. Even still when we did get there, never having been to this park, we had a hard time finding the dude to even ask about renting boards. No one seemed to know where we should go for this and honestly those we did ask didnt seen to friendly. I wouldnt go back here if I visited this area again. Not just because of the paddleboarding chaos but in general, it was crowded and just did not appeal to me or my people as a great place to hang out and swim..... I dont know... Super average.
