This park has quit a lot of acreage full of luscious scenery! Verdant greenery, luscious & thick the golf course like grasses cover the acreage. The shrubbery is well maintained and some of the paths go along the waterway. Many people walk dogs, bike, picnic, hike, and enjoy the nature in the city proper!! Love birds chirp all day long & lovers still hand in hand in amicable silence observing nature’s exquisite ways. For instance: the sound of growing greenery, animals communicating with their kind, and the sights are indescribably perfect!

A fair amount of people were there enjoying a nice day. The pool had less people in it to provide for social distancing. People were observed following the CDC guidelines. I had a pleasant meal with a friend at the covered picnic area. People seemed happy to be there. Nice to see Colorado Springs residents enjoying a city provided resource.

Beautiful park with plenty of amenities. The pool is nice too. The pickleball crowd is plentiful and intense so the parking lot tends to always be full. The picnic shelters can sometimes be a gathering spot for the homeless. The walking/running trail is nice. The park is well-maintained.

Great trail for long runs! Overall, the trail has, 1) easy access points throughout the city, 2) safe trail ways with businesses and residences close, so youre not too isolated, 3) while not too isolated, you still get the benefit of feeling off on a trail, not inhaling exhaust fumes , 4) river views

This used to be a favorite, but it has gone down hill and desperately needs management. The 2nd pond is bone dry and the primary pond is very murky and algae filled. It used to be the most beautiful city park in the Springs.

Very nice historical park in very near downtown COS. We just found a quiet spot, laid out a couple of blankets in partial shade, put some music on the Bluetooth speaker and had a nice 3-4 hour visit. I would rate it five-stars but since its located within rock throwing distance to I-25, it has a LOT of loud noise pollution. The 25 tall concrete wall sound barriers arent as effective as I thought they may be. None the less,we plan on going back soon.

Besides the homeless scattered throughout, this is actually a pretty neat place for biking or hiking! We went all the way up and around the creek (pretty, by the way) did a little off-roading just playing around and hit almost 6miles, easy. On the main trail and off the beaten path, my app said a little over 130ft elevation I think but you dont really notice, this is a very easy and rather level trek. Be careful, some of these bikers are literally flying through, and again, some homeless and other wanderers are around all over. One guy felt the need to hit on me and Im grateful it was light out and my husband wasnt too far behind me.

My absolute favorite Park in Colorado Springs. The walking trail is extensive. Unless there is a event going on in the park, there is usually plenty of free parking available. It is a very Lively Park with people enjoying the Pavilion, the pickleball courts, the softball field, the Rose Garden, the pool and the ponds. The easiest way to get to it from I-25 is take the Uintah exit go right and turn right again at the first light which is Glen Drive. You will pass one of the ponds theres a little Bend in the road it straightens out and then you hit the parking lot close to the pickleball courts. If the parking lot is full of, there is plenty of parking close to the railroad tracks or over by the Fine Arts Center which is across the bridge over the creek.

Such a great place for a walk, to feed the ducks, check out the gargen, play tennis or basketball, swim, or just play on the playground. As a kid I loved coming here! We always called it the train park because of the trains that run parallel to it. It was noiser back then as well because there wasnt a sound wall up between the park and the interstate, which is on the other side of the train tracks. I visited the park recently after many years and enjoyed a long walk on the trails and perusing the garden.

The park itself is gorgeous with 5 star views. However, every thing else.... Horrible! Theres a $20 Entry Fee but not a cent of it is being used to maintain the road. Our car was a 4-wheel drive, made for places like this and we still struggled on certain parts of the roads. Theres no organization, so its just cars going everywhere, no one respecting the one-way roads and accidents waiting to happen. Often, youll see signs pointing you down a road with the words Do not enter on them. Why are you pointing us that way then? Anyways, we get through the loop (Can be done in 45 minutes, took us 2 hours) and then that was it. No places to hike, stop, eat lunch or walk. Nowhere to learn about the plants, birds, history or culture. It was a real shock to go from any National Park to that. We ended our trip at the Visitor Center, which actually has the best views, but a parking lot is in the way..... please, just charge us a higher fee and fix your roads! Get some organization in there, utilize the park more. As much as I love it there, I will not recommend it to anyone due to these reasons.

The best part of the park, I think, is between Boulder St and Uintah St. Just past the swimming pool is a large playground and 2 gazebos available for use by reservation. Theres a serene, fragrant garden with a variety of flowers and artistic pieces. Further North, going towards Uintah St, theres a pond full of ducks and geese. Its also an excellent location for photographs, evident by the consistent number wedding photographers seen there daily. That being said, the Southern side of the park, between Platte Ave and Bijou St. is inhabited by many of the homeless people who enjoy hanging out there because they dont have anywhere else to be. Homeless people are harmless and not to be feared in general because they keep to themselves. Its best to visit during daylight hours because its very hard to see the trail after dusk.

This yet another park that is part of my heart and soul. What is PERFECT for me, it that by encircling the pond a simple few times, I get a mile or two under my belt. This could significantly help me with bettering my health. Its close to GREAT weather and I WANT to return. That being said, Im honestly hesitant to go back...Here is WHY:Im enraged that FULL SIZE plastic trash cans are floating next to baby ducklings and baby geese.I know for a fact that beavers, turtles, even storks and a variety of birds make this nook, home.It breaks my heart every time I see these generations of animals floating IN AND AROUND OUR discarded trash. When I used to go daily, Id bring a trash bag with me and help as much as one person can by picking up the trash. Please clean up for our EARTH FRIENDS.
