Its a fun park with lots to do. The reason its getting 3 stars is the homeless camp there, and they stumble around where the children are playing. Not comfortable. If you find my review helpful please click like.

Wanted to stop here on our trip to take my daughter. She had a blast once she saw it she just clapped. We had fun, you can see the mountains from here. But I will say beware there was a couple whom I believe was looking around for people to rob, or steal from etc looked like they had been there all day. Then when we were leaving we noticed there were some homeless people setting up camp. Just to make people aware. They may be harmless or they may not be. But if you watch your kids closely which you should be anyways youll be fine. Just be aware of your surroundings.

Kind of put off that the bathrooms are already on lock down even though the weather will be nice for weeks and really busy at the park. Not even a port a potty to use so our time was cut down because kids had to pee. Sad to have to leave just to usea bathroom.

This is such an interesting and fun park for children. With a beautiful path to walk and wide open grass to play. In my opinion the best in the city, tied with memorial.

Nice open space to walk around and a couple trails I didnt go a long ways went like halfway down a trail and turned around just didnt want to go to far away we were already tired. You get kind of a view of a river and go under a bridge. I thought there would be more to see but otherwise good for the kids to play at.

Beautiful clean park. Deducted 1 start because there was a lady which didnt even look like an employee blowing her whistle yelling at toddlers to get off the base located under the circle structure that releases water. She doesnt have to tell at anyone. How about posting a sign that says not to stand on the base so everyone is aware and parents can let their kids know?

Great place for family, young children or who wants to chill, Picnic etc. for children, bring sunblock during summer. Bring water toys, towel to dry when they go play at the fountain. Drink plenty of water and wear your shade, cap, hats during this hot summer in CO. Do bring an umbrella if you don’t like the sun. Ample parking space.

Great family park in downtown Colorado Springs. Huge water feature/sculpture, attended by city employed lifeguards, where kids and adults can get there feet wet and cool down on a hot summer day. Nice grassy area to play frisbee or soccer or fly a kite. Great playground with a variety of activities and big toys for the kids to play on. Would definitely recommend America the Beautiful park to family, friends and visitors from out of town.

Normally id give the place a good rating, but todays visit was absolutely disgusting. The play ground equipment is getting worn down. Soon metal wires on about a third of the equipment will be stabbing the unsuspecting kids. Next.. the trash. I mean wow. Did i go do a garbage dump or a park called America the Beautiful? The trash piled up is unbelievable. I dont know if the city is having issues, but this absolutely inexcusable. Besides finding trash mounded over every trash can and blown over the field and bushes... it seems to be going on for sometime as the homeless crowds have completely taken over certain areas. They feel so comfortable infact that they are lashing out and bulling park patrons (including children) they make it uncomfortable for folks passing through their homes/park exhibits with very negative energy and body language. Today i found drugs on the ground i disposed of, not just street drugs but pharmaceuticals, i also found used razors. I dont have a problem with the homeless. My issue is how government handles them. Its another story for another time, but if they are going to smoke on the play ground and be belligerent towards kids then it needs to be said. It needs to be handled. The community is increasing losing faith in its leaders so nobody comes forward and the issues dont go away... which makes violence, or hazards inevitable .If you have kids and you love them... please find a different place. Or be watchful, maybe bring something for defense.

Amazin, fun, and all around good time. Kids had a blast in the fountain and I was relieved to see someone working as a life gaurd if you will. She was keeping the kids off the slanted part of the fountain and I was glad to see her. Great park for a picnic, to play a little frisbee, or to just enjoy the view, let me tell you the view, Wow! Too many vagrants and vagabonds--wife didnt feel it was safe for us (wife + me + 2 year old) to play. Went there during the week at about noon-ish. Parking was on-street. At the end of the cul-de-sac was a sketchy-looking person changing their oil and a few other people in run-down vehicles. Park itself looks AMAZING and fun. . .but of course, if the wife dont feel safe. . .then. . =P.

Its a shame such a nice park is so overrun by homeless. Most of the benches south of the playground had someone living on it including the covered area. Only reason I gave an extra star is the playground seems to be pretty nice. Just keep an eye on your kids and dont let them stray to far from that area. Wont find me coming back to this park though.

WARNING for children.I was driving my twins through Colorado Springs on my way home to TX. We found a park based on reviews from trip advisor and chose the park because it was one that did not mention problems with homeless people. Many other park reviews noted the high amount of homeless in the parks. After playing on the play scape and on the splash pad, we headed to our car. A man who appeared to be very excited at the sight of my 4 year old daughter in a bathing suit began yelling religious and sexual comments at us while I dried her off under a tree next to my car.I ignored him but after a minute or so I picked up my phone to call 911.The man calmly approached me still ranting sexual comments and calling me vulgar names and racial slurs (n word). We are all Caucasian by the way, even the man yelling. He said call the police, they won’t do anything. He pulled his hand out of a backpack and sprayed me in the face, arm and leg with some type of pepper spray. My daughter got sprayed in her face and on her arms. He calmly walked off and I was still shocked. Then the burning began and I could not see for several minutes.I reported this to the police and I’ve left town for Texas. This was a very disturbing incident where a man in a public park attacked us out of nowhere. Please note this to other park goers to be extremely cautious. This is a park full of children with no security presence and men sitting alone on the perimeter who appear to be transients. The man who did this was clean cut and referred to Jesus and the Bible multiple times. I just thought he was ranting, but he is a dangerous person with some fixation on children. Beware. My daughter was hysterical for two hours after this, and in pain until she went to bed at midnight in our hotel. I had no idea pepper spray was so powerful. Thanks

Katharine Lee Bates got it right when she chose this area to write America The Beautiful. When you stand in this park looking at Pikes Peak it just leaves you in awe. Had a nice view of the mountains and the local factory stacks. There were a lot of families and small children playing as well as some unkempt folks sleeping and lounging in the pavilion. A sign seemed to indicate the available water was not potable (seemed to include the drinking fountain--wasnt sure, didnt want to try it). Also, my spouse informed me that the ladies restroom didnt have any doors on the stalls. No negative interactions, but the overall vibe of the park, given the name, was sadly ironic.
