There is so much information packed into a small, local museum! And their volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable! Definitely worth a stop if you are in Old Colorado City!!

Old Colorado City History Center and Museum is located in the 1890 First Baptist Church. The Museum is small but full of history and I was lucky enough to be there when historian Leo was there. There are so many stories to tell about history that happened in Old Colorado City and Leo makes it all come to life.

Ashley, the woman that runs the place in Friday and Saturdays is such a delight. Always a good vibe when you walk into that place. Takes you back in time to learn about some interesting stuff.

This is a free museum run by volunteers in the heart of Old Colorado City. Its worth going in at least once to check out and read up on some of the history of Colorado Springs. I learned a lot including how railroad workers used to slide down the Cog Railway on their butts to get home faster, a method that lead to some interesting innovations (and injuries). They take donations but its not required.

Very interesting display of the history of the beginnings of Colorado as a territory and state. Great collection or artifacts. Then walking the historic streets. Good restaurants near by.

Nice little neighborhood museum. Exhibits are OK, nothing great. But the lady working there was amazing... she provided lots of background information and stories that were quite interesting. If you are walking around Old Colorado City, this is well worth 10 or 15 minutes to get some historical background about the area.

If you are in Old Colorado City in Colorado Springs. You will enjoy the History Center! It is a little museum inside a very well taken cared of and loved church. It is filled with Old Colorado City and the Colorado Springs history and a very nice little book store.
