The idea of this park is great- its whimsical, has a pirate ship area, swings, and different climbing and sliding structures. The crooked houses are new and in great shape. The rest of the park is pretty drab and needs some aesthetic love. Especially the castle area (honestly just an empty inner area with faux castle walls that are kind of sad looking). Luckily kids dont really care much about aestethics so my toddler still had a great time. Again, good thing theres a variety here. Its also well spread out so I didnt feel crowded, especially since there were a lot of families there at that time (5 pm on a Wednesday). Overall, a unique playground for sure...but a mixed bag.

Its a Chico staple inside a legendary California State park. The beauty during late afternoon and the small kids palace if Caper Acres, is great for kids of all ages, and nice for parents too as everywhere is fenced in so less worry.

Ive been going to this park since I was young. I have thrown numerous birthday partys for my children. It is sogood way to keep your little ones in your eye sight.

Great park with fall colors and smells. Good open areas for throwing balls for dogs. Nice overgrown paths along creek. A map of the park and facilities would be welcome. Let dog off leash and swim in creek. No signs to indicate otherwise. And a supply of plastic bags would be nice too.

One of the great things about Chico, Caper Acres is a lovely park. Its very spacious and has one entrance so I just let my kids go once we go over the bridge which leads into the park. There are 2 new areas, one that has great swings and one that has a very Seussian vibe with 2 wobbly play structures that look like houses.The ship with the beautifully made sea monster is a favorite for little ones.We will play there for awhile then head over to the water and look for fish. The trees here are truly magnificent.

This is a free family friendly park for kids up to age 13. It features a sandbox area, a swing complex, a see saw, a castle, a balance beam, a climbing structure with two slides, a pirate ship and dragon/sea monster , a swiss cheese climbing sculpture, and various other small playground toys like bouncy bugs and spinners. There is a bathroom, plenty of shade trees, grassy areas, and a parking lot. Caper Acres is fully fenced, with parking outside the fence, making it a very safe place for children to play.

Lots of room and areas for the kiddos to exert their energy and sleep really well.

I have loved caper acres for many years. They have added new toys since my kids were little and my grandbabies love going here. So many thing to do and lots of space to run. Last time we were there it looked like they are getting ready to add to the park somehow. Im excited to see what they do.

Nice park, some good shade and some good playground equipment.One thing that I noticed is that it appears that dogs can be brought into the park. One individual seemed to have brought in a pit bull. Although it was kept on the leash it didn’t seem like the best idea to bring that into a children’s park

A lot of upgrading has been done. Good play sets for kids to stay very busy and tire out. Just watch your kids. You are at one mile where shady characters tred.

A great local playground for children. Definitely one of the best in town. Gated and safe.

This is my favorite playground to go to. Especially in the fall when the leaves are falling. I feel that my child is safe there. Also! There are goats on the other side of the fence now. The kids love looking at them.

Whilst they had no capers which I usually like served on top of my swordfish, they had cool stuff for my kids to play on and seemed drone friendly

We have been enjoying this park since I was a teen. My grown children go now that they have their own children. It is a wonderful place for kids to play. Many of the iconic play structures are gone now, but the park is still lovely. I hope more play equipment will be available soon.

Our son had an amazing time. The park is well kept and had play equipment all the children seemed to enjoy.

What an amazing park. Like no other park Ive ever been to! And Ive been to a lot of parks! I took my grandson there and he had such a great time and so did I. There are MANY different structures. One is a crooked house that the kids can climb up into and take a slide back down. They have Humpty Dumpty sitting on the wall surrounding a large sand pit. There is a dragon for climbing on that is really magical. It is studded with gems and other interesting items. The entire park is really unique that way! I strongly suggest you go there! I highly recommend this park.

The park equipment is great fun for the kids.The only reason I dont give 5 stars is that the mens bathroom has no changing table. Men take their kids to the park too!

I babysit 5 kids, and when its cool enough this is a great place to take them to get them moving and out of the house! Theres lots of different stuff from swings, the sandbox, a smaller area with slides for the toddlers, and a bigger one for the big kids! Great place.

Perfect place for littles to get out their excess energy. Lots to do and plenty of spaces to run. They have also just rebuilt a few of the older structures. There are flush toilets, drinking fountains and close stroller accessible parking.

I love their selection of swings and their park is growing!!! Its fun and love how closed in it is so children cant run out in the street. the bathrooms are so close to the playground which is super convenient for us parents!

Great place to bring your kids. Lots to play on and tons of fun. The whole area is totally fenced in too so you dont have to worry about your little ones getting away from you too

This is my favoritest place in the whole world it is what where I grew up and it is always going to be a favorite in my heart its a must for the kids and just if you love enjoy and love beautiful scenery

Really nice park for families. Super clean and age right here down in appropriate areas. No one allowed in with out children. And completely fenced so one way in one way out.

I have been coming here since I was a kid and its nice to now bring my own child. There are many fun things to do and I love the space and beautiful mature trees but the park does need some updating.

Awesome place to bring your kids, You know, If you can avoid the competition from parents with egos and a case of lackadaysia and other kids who dont know how to share.Used to be a wonderful park but sadly its location has factored in to this parks value and reputation.Not only the safety of your child with its many reconstruction from trees, storms and creepers.

They really need to replace the play structures that have been removed over the years. Its kinda empty. Its still cool but its really not comparable to what it was when I was a kid. Its clean thats about it. Card takes good care of the parks, I think they are responsible for this one.

This was such a great park. It was the perfect outlet for the kids to run off energy. They have some really neat options on the playground. The kids loved it.

Great place for kids 1-12~. Plenty of options for kids to play and plenty of space. Theres also a reserveable area for birthdays or parties in general. Also, this is in the One Mile area of Bidwell Park, which means walking trails and swimming in the summer and fall.

THE childrens playground in Bidwell Park. Only minutes from downtown Chico, this has been a kid hangout for decades. Recently renovation made it even more fun. Lots of grassy areas and benches. Lots of shade, enjoy!

Its such a great place for children but it needs some areas tended to.It holds great memories for me. My children and now grandchildren . It is obvious that the town is battling transient problems and the trash that it brings.

Caper Acres is a wonderful location to take your children. Great for locals and real treat for tourist/visitors. Located in beautiful Bidwell Park. Clean, safe and affordable.

We have spent so much time in Bidwell Park over the last 11 years. There is so much to do here.Swim in Sycamore pool, or go for a dip in one of the swimming holes in Upper Bidwell. Take the kids to Caper Acres. Rent the Campfire Ring for a drum circle. Play some sports at one of the many fields. Attend a music festival, fun run, fundraiser, movie night, BBQ, or festival. Bike, hike, walk, skate, or board the many trails in Lower or Upper park. Take your dog for a hike. Have a picnic. See the stars, in the observatory. Take your bow to the archery range. Go fishing in the pond.There are too many things to list. Just get out there and enjoy this unique treasure!

Great asmophere and clean, but there were some homeless people taking up a bench. The bathroom facilities are also very clean, and it is a great spot for picnicking and walking.

Great kids playground. Its fenced in with one entry making it more relaxed to let the kids run around and play w/o a hawks eye over them. There are restrooms, picnic tables, and water fountain inside.

My daughter loves this place. Theres many things to do here and from what Ive read, theres more to come. We are looking forward to the changes and cant thank you guys enough for keeping the place safe and well maintained.

Great large, mostly enclosed area for kids. Lots to do, and a lot of space. Swings, castles, sand, many benches and some grass to sit on. Great spot for groups too. Our 3 boys love it.

Its not to exiting, its kinda bland but if you know how to have fun youll enjoy yourself

Caper Acres is a large Park area with many shade trees. The shade trees cool the area down in the summer and make it a very pleasant place to visit. The creek is nearby and is set up as a swimming area in the summer . There are several scattered benches and picnic tables for individuals and families They have an area with picnic tables that can be used by groups. The childrens larger play area is being renovated at this time. There are some swings available for children to swing on. And a few benches 4 caregivers and parents.

Great park. The equipment is relatively new and a lot if natural shade from trees. The kids loved it. The bees loved our picnic lunch bit we coexisted in relative peace.

Fun place still! And theyre currently doing work on parts of it to make it more useful and add amenities. Love it

So much fun for my 16 month old! Lots of space, sand box, slides, and stuff to climb. They also have bathrooms. Yay!

They have always been a favorite of mine even though they took out the crooked house which was my favorite slide to go down lol. Theyve updated it nicely, but they need to pick the pace up.
