Located on Honey Run Road in Chico, Honey Run Covered Bridge is a wonderfully preserved example of historic engineering. It spans Butte Creek just outside city limits on the way to nearby Paradise.Though it has undergone a few renovations over the years, the bridge’s impressive wooden structure is still largely intact. Its maintenance is managed by a local association dedicated to preserving the unique piece of history for decades to come. The bridge is surrounded by an idyllic park popular with picnickers, photographers, and artists looking for inspiration for their next work. Most guests leave a few bucks at the park’s donation site to help with maintenance costs.

These are not of the bridge cause it burned in the fire. These are of Butte Creek there by where the bridge was. Still a beautiful place to visit.

Fun historical place to see and a beautiful drive. If youre courageous enough, take the drive across the new bridge up to Paradise. It is full of twists and turns and steep drop offs - oh and most of it is only wide enough for one vehicle even though it is open to traffic both ways.

Its a small old fashioned park that was once a important cross over the creek. The covered bridge was restored with contributions raised by local historical society. I dont know if bridge survived the paradise fire since it is wood.

Destroyed in the Camp Fire, November 2018. The park is still there, but closed, and its clear that visitors are not welcome. This was a 3-span wooden Pratt truss bridge. Theyre not making any more of them. Im told that this was the only one in existence. Theres talk of rebuilding, which will make sense if there are good HABS/HAER plans at the Library of Congress.

Great historical bridge to visit in the beautiful Honey Run canyon.Pedestrians and bikes can go onto the bridge, which is no longer in use.In the Summer many locals swim and picnic in the river up and down stream.Very quiet area to visit during the week and winter. This area has a rich gold history. The road just beyond the bridge leads up to the city of Paradise where a 54 pound nugget of gold was discovered.

First time uo to Honey Run. My boy had a blast and i loved it! If only people would clean up after themselves it would have been even better. There was hecka trash. At least whomever left it there had the decency to bag it up and put it in a pile. But other then tgat it was fun. So take out what you bring in. Be curtious.
