Though they share many of the same influences, there are several distinctions between art created by Northern and Southern California artists.The Museum of Northern California Art’s collection features works from dozens of Northern California’s premier artists; they’re displayed in some distinct collections.The works include paintings, drawings, sculpture, and photography, most of which feature distinctly regional themes.The staff also hosts many special activities throughout the year, including guest speakers, art workshops, and festivals.The museum is located on Esplanade Drive in Chico and is usually only open four days per week.

Its kind of small but a cool place.

A small gallery but really nice and the lady working here is great!

First time to an art museum. We went here to see Shane Grammars exhibit of beauty in the ashes. The whole experience was great. I went to school in Chico so it was nice to come back to Chico and see how much the city had grown.

Very impressive with what the museum has doing with the old veterans building. I am excited to see them keep expanding. Both times I have been to see exhibits there was plenty of artwork and the volunteers were very helpful.

This is an older Chico building, refurbished as an art museum with rotating shows. I go here occasionally to hear classical guitar recitals as it has great acoustics for this. I heard they will soon have air conditioning put in, so they will be able to have events during the hot summers.

Love this venue... Cant wait to see this years Mandala by Losang Samten️ The mandala of the Green Tara... Last years was the mandala of the Lotus Blessing... So much amazing talent comes through Chico and this is certainly a worthy location to check out if youre out hunting a rare gem of an experience or two.

This is a really beautiful facility that is a good venue for a 100-person wedding.

Attended a Norton Buffalo Hall West concert put on by the Paradise Guild. Don Ross. Amazing concert. Comfortable venue.

I work for the museum on my time off. Great place to visit. They change displays often. The art is beautiful. Small spot filled to the brim with art. Free to students also.

Pat Macias was so warm and welcoming! And she gave me a band aid when I stabbed myself with my pen! Grateful for this Chico gem.

Fun place for an event. Local artists display work. A visiting monk had installed a sand mandala when we visited.

I just went to see the war vet exhibit at the museum. I was taken aback by the talent of these veterans in our area. It was a great and a bit emotional experience

Chico has its one fine art museum at last in the historic old Veterans Auditorium on the Esplanade. Support your local art and artists!

It was a great outing with the kids. It wasnt too big and overwhelming and there were several options to engage the kids.

Went to a wedding here, great space, but the acoustics were problematic

Lovely old building repurposed as an art gallery for local artists... great venue for parties and events!

Wonderful, wonderful space! Recently went for a viewing of Served Like a Girl and will be returning for more of their events.
