When here to see a cabaret show based on the world of Steven Universe. Fantastic venue! Fairly unassuming upon walking in, but the place is three (?) stories of spaces dedicated to art, and performances!!We were in 2B on the second floor and just getting to the theatre section led you through multiple rooms that were well payed out and interesting. They had a bar so you could grab an assortment of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the show =)Will keep an eye on it and see if there are more interesting shows at this venue!

We were there for the holiday Burlesque show, The Buttcracker. It was an excellent show, with a truly and equally excellent cast. The performances were funny, mesmerizing, and energetic. We purchased the VIP experience which included a meet & greet with some of the cast and an after party with guest performers, which just made the entire night even more enjoyable. Thanks for a great time!!

HAVEN LOUNGE REVIEWWife and I loved going to Haven Lounge to get some food and work for a few hours. The space is pretty large but feels intimate with lots of tables and high tops for working/lounging. Chairs are big and comfortable. Outlets all along wall and wifi is decent. Friendly service from staff. Delicious grilled cheese! It closes late on evenings that the theater has an event/show, another great plus.Highly recommend as a new cafe spot to get work done in Wicker Park!

The Den theater is a cozy welcoming and warm beacon for diversity tucked away in the heart of Chicago. It is surrounded by scrumptious eateries all in walking distance of the theater. Tickets are surprisingly affordable. The staff is unusually kind and the current selection of offerings explore a multiplicity of cultures, histories, emotions, and characters. The bar opens 30 minutes before showtime with several comfy waiting areas. It is your time to discover the Den.

Ive been to two shows here and I had a fun time both times. Easy to get tickets and get into the show. Theres a bar outside the theatre to get drinks before hand. Its a smaller venue but not too small to make you feel awkward in front of the performers but you still feel close up to whats going on. Really interesting array of shows too, pick one and give the artist a chance. You most likely wont go wrong. Very Fun!

Ordered a mixed drink and when it came, it tasted funny. I ask one of my friends who was with me to taste his since it was identical and he said it tasted bad as well. It seemed as though it was flat, that the CO2 was out. Bartender overhears and makes a comment about how they have that issue at the beginning of the night but never offers to fix our drinks. Turns out it was flat and the regular cola line was hooked up to the diet mix. This place is a smaller venue, the bands they had the night I was there were pretty good. Overall, this place is ok but nothing special.

The place is nice, but the service is not good in terms of management. I have been trying to do a fundraising even here and I have been treated horribly. If you are not rich, white, or famous, they are not accommodating at all. The event manager, Catherine, does not respond to email and people at the box office have often hung up the phone or have not picked up at all when I call. It is very sad they they treat people like this and I will be sure to spread the word.

The Den is not only a staple of the Chicago theatre scene but, since its renovation, has become a frequent location for some of the best productions that are playing. A friend and I went to the Den Theater to see The Girl In The Red Corner after seeing their Pay What You Can program featured in the RedEye. The venue is really cool and there is a cafe/lounge area on the first floor. I think the Den Theater hosts different production companies in one facility which is really interesting. The play we saw was great and we actually ended up sitting next to the writer which we learned once we struck up a conversation during intermission. Afterwards, the director, writer, and artistic director/lead actress held a Q&A with the audience which was enlightening and insightful. I loved this place and as a student was grateful for their pwyc program to be able to engage with the arts on a budget.
