Its decent for outdoor excursions. the grass can get pretty tall so plan accordingly. We took the kids fishing and had a decent time but i dont recommend it for non-outdoors types.

There is a beautiful little lake here that you can get to from the Great Bridge boat launch area. It is beautiful and great for fishing.

Extremely nice entryway and parking lot. Also, an outdoor gym, which I’ve never seen before. The only thing is there were LOTS of bugs. Definitely wear bug/tick repellent. Has a “hidden gem” feel.

Pretty good place to run or have a nice quiet secluded walk/lunch but still remain in the heart of great bridge!I go to run often. There is a XC path that snakes and meanders through the park, some variance in elevation but wide open. The ground can get a little saturated after it rains and it’s right on the bank of the Elizabeth so it can have standing wanted on occasion.Recently got a facelift with new parking lot entrance and ramp to the field....don’t get confused there is no playground here it’s just an open field.

Good park for running or walking, not much fun for kids though. Park mostly consists of grass trails, including one 5km trail that is marked. The trails are well-maintained and there are some nice spots overlooking the river. There are porta potties and trash cans but no play areas or permanent toilets.

General: The park is flat and bordered by water on two sides with swampy wetlands in the middle. My wife and I went there to enjoy a 2 mile jog in the park rather than drive to the oceanfront. Considering how few walking, running, hiking trails there are in Hampton Roads (especially Chesapeake)

This park is great for what it is. A 5k cross country course. The trail isnt super well defined but its easy enough to navigate. Lots of people bring their dogs out and not all them pick up after themselves so watch your step. Theres a port o potty but not much else as far as facilities go. Lots of races are held on the course throughout the year. It gets very muddy after rain and theres no shade during the summer. Happy running!

A decent place to run. Just watch out for the flooding after it rains, the random holes everywhere, and the grass that goes uncut. Also might want to bring some kind of bug repellent

Nice scenery, but just a huge grassy area with grass cut to make a path. Hard to run on if you like level ground. Nothing for kids to do. Not a park, more of a nature area. Hopefully they will update it?

Mi

Disappointing as a park as really just jogging and walking trails. Huge amount of land though, hopefully more to come.

As others have pointed out the pictures are dated and inaccurate: there is no longer a playground here. It is mostly grassy trails around a hill. There are pretty views and its worth a visit, just dont go expecting much for the kids to do. There does seem to be construction occurring so maybe a playground will be built.

Good park playground for kids to play and families to sit and enjoy picnic. Also a great fireplace to light and enjoy telling stories. Great view of Canal to watch boats. Nice neighborhood with plenty of eating places near by. Public bathrooms.

Grass needs to be cut on a regular basis especially in the summer time. Cross-country teams and the general public like to run/jog the trails. With all the recent rain, in my opinion, the grass needs to be cut again soon. Twice a month would be great. Also, it would keep the bugs and biting flies down. Thank you

Big grass field with about a five foot wide path cut around the perimeter. It appears to be 2 miles. Some views of the nearby Elizabeth river but mostly blocked by huge trees. If it rains its a soggy mess.
