This is one of the best museums & parks Ive ever visited. The gallery exhibits are excellent with full of great history about Great Bridge and its significance during the Revolutionary war. The people who fought here, unknowingly secured Americas future and helped boost the Patriots confidence during the struggle against the British. The trails are great for running and its enjoyable to walk the whole way. There will be events from time to time such as live music and food trucks. The people who put efforts into putting this museum and park together did a great service to Virginia and the U.S. as a whole. I highly recommend visiting when you can.

Well designed! See on your own or ask a guide to walk through some parts with you! We could ask questions as we when though. We had a very knowledgeable guide! We learned so much about Great Bride and Hampton Roads! Also, we love to come and walk the beautiful grounds and hiking trails along the water! And a great place to bring a picnic, tables provided!

The park is nice, its clean and well taken care of. The back of the park has over looks and nice trails. The front has all of history described well on the boards throughout the park, and now with the museum open its even better, the people who work there are nice and informative. There are some open spaces in the museum, so it looks like they have planned out room to grow, which is understandable with such a new museum.

In the era of Covid, this is always a lovely place to sit in your car and eat lunch or, weather permitting, sit along the water to watch the boats, birds, butterflies and bees, which are plentiful in the footpath area near the bridge. It’s hardly ever over crowded and is a very nice place to take a walk in nature.

The Great Bridge Battlefield Park is a really nice place to spend some time relaxing by the water and to walk the trails and read the postings about the history. There is a new museum there that we havent seen yet. It was close to closing time, so we went and saw some of what is outside since the weather was perfect.1st & 3rd Wednesday evenings 4:30 on there are the food truck gathering which had a nice crowd of families attend when we were there.

This historical park offers an extensive trail system. Trails continue all the way to the bypass bridge and beyond. This is one of my favorite local places to go hiking with the family. The main monument area offers a lot of opportunity for a history lesson and to learn the importance of the battlefield. See other visitors photos under the other pins on the google map.
