I cannot complement the Visitors Center enough. We are getting married and Carla and Bob put great materials together for us so we could provide them to our guests. We had a hiccup with trying to pick up the items, which was not the Visitors Centers fault and they did EVERYTHING in their power to make it right! This was the easiest part of wedding planning because of how helpful and flexible Bob and Carla were . Thank you thank you thank you!

The best information at the most convenient location for anyone who visits the downtown pedestrian mall area. We had lots of interests and the amazing staff set us straight and gave very clear suggestions. Pottery, music and wineries! Clean restroom and plenty of freebies. I’m smitten!

You have an obligation to make this a family friendly location. I have sympathy for the homeless, but this was on another level. Constantly hit up for money. One guy asked for change after I saw him on his iphone. I had to almost force another guy away from my wife when he started to get aggressive. My wife and I love visiting Charlottesville, but we probably wont be visiting the downtown mall again anytime soon.

I love finding information no local and state wide stuff to do.

Too many people have bad intentions

The lady manning the desk at the visitor center was extremely friendly and helpful! Gave us tips on traveling with kids around the city and catching the trolleys. They have all kinds of maps and brochures here, definitely worth a stop if you want some help planning your visit!

A/C feels amazing. FYI, you can not drive up to the center. Must park and walk but not inconvenient. Tucked upstairs from the transit center and by the amphitheatre. Employee was super helpful and there is a lot of travel brochures to choose from as well as local area maps.

Friendly and informative host to the famous city of Charlottesville, Virginia. The city has a free trolley to travel on, but only worthwhile to go on if it is raining heavily and you have no umbrella, or are unable to walk the streets.

The people manning the desk are very friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they like living in Charlottesville!

If you visit Charlottesville, you MUST go. Excellent restaurants, live music, great shopping and all in eight blocks of pedestrian only, tree lined boulevard.

Great place to get directions and information for the Downtown mall, or anywhere else in the region for that matter. The clerks are very helpful, and the building is modern and well maintained.

The gentleman working there was super friendly and helpful. My son was visiting UVA and we wanted the low down on the area and transportation options. We chatted for at least a half hour and congratulated my son on being admitted to UVA.

Charlottesville is a beautiful and friendly town, and the Visitor Center does a great job of helping people find their way around and locate the best lodging, dining, and entertainment.Vibrant and thriving despite recent tragic events, Charlottesville offers incredible entertainment, art, and dining, wonderful shopping of all types, beautiful architecture, and so much more. The Downtown Mall pedestrian boulevard, where the Visitor Center is located, has over 50 restaurants as well as theaters, shopping, childrens play areas, and more. There are a lot of small independent businesses as well as a weekly City Market that is a farmers market in the warmer months and a holiday craft market during the early winter. The University is a fantastic place to explore, with all sorts of pathways and gardens and interesting buildings beyond the famous Rotunda and Lawn. The surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful, with vineyards, cideries, breweries, and distilleries open for tastings and picnics. Besides the Shenandoah National Park, there are numerous other hiking, strolling, horseback riding, and mountain biking trails nearby. And of course, Monticello as well as other important sites of the founding of the United States of America and the early days of our democracy.

First of all, my thoughts and prayers go out to All in this area,! I did just phone the charlottesville visitor center today 8-28-17, and was told this beautiful city of course is mourning the loss of life after this tragedy, but is now back to normal and would appreciate visitors coming to enjoy what they have to offer. Just wanted to share :-)

I was just here this morning and it was good

Went to the information center downtown. Hard to find, bad parking, take a car, not your motorhome. We asked about battle fields after he gave us info on Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe and he said we had alot to see, after we did that, come back if wete not to tired and he would give us more.

Friendly gentleman who was quite knowledgeable. Continued to talk about Monticello past my level of interest however.Great maps and love the location on top of the transit center!

Such a great place. you can get information here, but more importantly, I found out, is that you can see a little movie and then take the FREE TROLLEY AROUND CHARLOTTESVILLE. I had an appointment at UVA medical center and found out that the trolley goes right there. Next time I can take the train and use the trolley and wont even need a car unless I want to. Loved the art outside. It is a community chalk board in as an installation art. fun!

Employees are able to answer questions, but the visitor center is mostly a small selection of brochures.

Super cool building next to the pavilion. Very friendly staff there to help you with any questions you could have about things around town.

They have done away with there Heritage. Bring back the monuments and add civil rights movement.
