We had a great time. Booked as a private corporate group. Seven of us completed Dark Circus, the puzzles were creative and challenging. There were enough areas for everyone to discover clues and make an impact. We had a slow start but finished and the entire team loved it. Id highly recommend it.

Was able to walk in , didnt get the experience room we wanted but got a good one right away. Cant imagine 8 adults in the room as we were 2 adults and 2 kids and had just enough room for us. Clues were great. Had to ask for a lot of hints but got to solve it! Good experience to have with the kids...

I enjoyed it. I celebrated my birthday and found a secret message celebrating it!!! I even brought my 5 year old for free who had fun too!!

Agreed to this experience half-heartedly but in the end, thoroughly enjoyed myself. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and encouraging. The mysteries are well thought out. The clues aren’t easy to uncover, but not impossible. Our small group of three finished the quest in 65 minutes due to the graciousness of the staff who allowed us to run over the allotted 60 minutes. We would definitely do this again.

Super fun! We enjoyed it so much that after finishing the first room we ended up staying to do a second right after! The Jack the Ripper room however is definitely smaller and less detailed/intricate than others.

Absolutely one of the best times ive ever had at an escape room!! The employees were very helpful and super kind! The puzzles were definitely fun and challenging and well worth the prices for fun! I look forward to coming back again!!

The best hour of the week. The Dark Circus proved to be challenging, terrifying and comical. We needed lots of help. Which was willingly supplied by staff. We will def return soon.

The rooms are super interesting and completely different than the other ones that I have been to. The staff is really helpful and will always come to your aid when youre confused. The decor is amazing and really well thought out. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. The only downside would be the price but its worth it for special occasions.

My friend and I met in Charlottesville to do escape rooms this weekend and ended up doing all of the rooms here. They are all fun in their own way and the theming is really well done. With the exception of the Circus room we felt like their rooms are really well suited for beginners but still so much fun for people that have done lots of rooms (we have done 30 or more).The Circus room is lots of fun but we felt it was definitely more challenging than any of the other rooms and I didn’t particularly care for the hint structure in the Circus room (it’s different than the other rooms). My favorite room was probably the Conspiracy one but I truly enjoyed all of them.

Had a group event and they were very accommodating of some slight delays! Also I really enjoyed the details of the room we went in. Would definitely book again!

Had such a great experience at Cville Escape Room for my best friends bachelorette party! They opened just for us on a date that they were not normally in business. Every time I needed to reach out for information, whether it was through phone or email, there was always a prompt and friendly response. They were even kind enough to offer recommendations about restaurants and other activities since I was planning everything from Abq, NM! Our group is very experienced with escape rooms and we were pleased with the difficulty level as well (we did the conspiracy theory themed room). Cant recommend this place enough! Thank you Cville Escape Room for a fun and memorable night!

Played the new Dark Circus game. It was full of clues and had a linear design. Each area had its own set of clues and a pathway to unlock an artifact. All of the artifacts had to be found in order to escape. Almost took us the entire time and we had 4 people. Very fun!

Disclaimer: I have not done any other Escape Rooms and Im commenting solely based on my experience at Cville Escape Room. Ive done two rooms so far (Sherlock and Archaelogists Adventure). Both rooms were quite detailed, seemingly authentic, creative, and fun. One definitely has the feeling of being in another world and on an adventure. Thats all great, but Im specifically writing this review to also point out that the people who own and run the place are super nice and want to make sure you have a good experience and are usually willing to be accommodating, as needed. We celebrated a special event there and they were very nice: blocked off the last two spots in the room and left us a special surprise to celebrate the occasion. Cant wait to go back and I highly recommend Cville Escape Room as a nice, friendly, and fun place!

Did Jack the Ripper room. Very mediocre. Lots of lock boxes. Same basic puzzle over and over again. Got unlimited hints from very nice staff. Escaped with just 2 people doing puzzle. Wouldnt go there again unless hear that they have drastically improved.

We just cracked Dark Circus and had a great time. I hope all the puzzles are more random instead of being chronological so everyone can truly participate.

This is a review of Conspiracy X at Cville Escape Room. Overall, the room was pretty good. The theme was spot on, and for any conspiracy nuts, youll definitely love the references. My only criticism is that the room was a little busy with just too many linear (borderline perfunctory) puzzles.

Weve never done an escape room before so had no idea what to expect, we did the circus themed one, it was so well done, professional and high attention to detail, its obvious they have a lot of passion in what they do and what theyve created. We had so much fun and would do it again, it was the highlight of our trip to Charlottesville!

Weve been to two of the rooms at Cville escape room. Both were fun. Challenging but not difficult. Well be back. Looking forward to the new room.

Great, well-designed escape room!

Very cool place. Staff educates you if you have never been to an escape room in full details. So arrive early prior to the event, about 10 min is courteous. The rooms themselves are very detailed and nicely set up. The staff adds a bit excitement to the experience before going in, to get you pumped up. For the price its reasonable.

The escape room itself was well done. Good details, challenging puzzles and a lot of fun. The staff forced themselves upon the experience too frequently. When we were done, the staff members at the desk dismissed and ignored us talking directly to them to talk about facebook and personal drama. Some more professionalism would do well here.

My mom and I did the Jack the Ripper Escape Room! We had such a blast!! We had never done an escape room before and were excited to give it a try. The staff were helpful and amazing! The clues were tough, but in the fun way, not in the way where it seems like you arent supposed to solve it. And the thrill of figuring a clue out is unparalleled. :)Were going to turn this into a family tradition every time we visit Charlottesville!!I recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun time. If youre nervous about trying an escape room for the first time, this is the best place to get you hooked. :D

Very unique experience and one that truly involves group effort. Even if you do not complete the puzzle within the allotted time they walk you through it. Once you experience one room you will want to come back and try all the others.

The Sherlock Holmes room was interesting but very focused on locks. Alot of confusion occurred because of how many different locks you could be working on at once.

Sooooooooooo much fun!! Took the family for the Sherlock Holmes room and I could not be more impressed. This will now become a regular event for us.

First time at an escape room. My girlfriend and I had did the Jack the ripper room with another couple. We were told it was the smallest and hardest room. We were lucky that this couple had done many escape rooms before. We barely finished in time but we did it! We cant wait to do another one.

We did the Conspiracy room as a team building exercise with work and I had a blast. Look forward to returning again for a personal trip.

Fun time with interns was had here. Made it out of the mad scientist room on 66 mins, which I think we could have done better, but eh.Escape rooms are a lot of fun though, and this one is well set up and the rooms are interesting and present a fun challenge for those that enter. Great for team building or just going to challenge yourself a little.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts!I had made a reservation which needed to be changed at the last minute. Cville escape room changed my reservation without any delay.My wife and I participated in the fortune tellers secret. The puzzles were not overly complicated but were challenging just enough to make the experience enjoyable. Looking forward to one day completing all of the rooms and being part of the key club!Would highly recommended, and worth the price. We played with 4 strangers which worked out fine, but I would recommend playing with people you know.

I brought my family to Cville Escape Room not knowing exactly what to expect. I checked out their website and thought it sounded like a fun way to spend part of an afternoon. We all had an excellent time! The room was very well put together, the clues were perfectly written, there was an excellent ratio of difficult and easier clues and the staff was fantastic. At no point did we feel bored or overwhelmed. If youre wondering whether or not you should give it a try, go for it. We had an amazing time and will be back soon and often to try their other rooms.

Such a great buisness. Ive been to all but one room (and set several records) and theyre all wonderful and fun. Catch them before they move! Also keep in mind theyre moving to the other side of the mall, near Splendoras, in June/July.

Best escape room place in Charlottesville. I’ve done almost all of the rooms in cville and this place not only has the most rooms to choose from but has also delivered the most consist and quality rooms that are both fun and challenging. Definitely recommend coming!

This makes for a great date, group activity with friends, or team building exercise with co-workers. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and Ive enjoyed both escape rooms I participated in a great deal!

A fun escape room downtown, and the staff is very nice. Our room (the fortune teller) was small, but very detailed. They set the themes and stage well.

I surprised my parents and inlaws with this as a xmas gift and we all had a blast! The staff was so nice and friendly, the puzzles were really fun and all different, allowing us all to be involved and interact. We are already planning to go again on our next visit!
