I just play the disc golf course here. It is spectacular!! Not for beginners though. It was built several years ago for a professional tournament so it is very very challenging, one of the hardest courses around Charlotte. If you are an experienced or intermediate disc golfer this is a must play! If youre still learning the ropes I would not recommend this course unless youre looking for a 6 mile hike searching for discs in the thick forrest.

Older park but a lot to do for younger kids in the main park area. Very creatively designed. Some parts have been closed down and still have not been repaired so hopefully they will be soon. There is a park area for older kids as well and a lot of activity areas for horse shoe and cornhole etc. walking trail, splash pad up front. Very nice overall

I love this park!!!! I used to walk here a long time ago, when my kids were around 4 and 8. It was such a clean, and tranquil place. I moved from this side of town and hadn’t had a chance to get around this way often...about 15 years later I happened on this side again...and this park is still as amazing as it used to be. Still clean, but now there’s a few more people...but that’s ok, it’s not over saturated. There’s also an addition of a spray park, and disc golf set up throughout the park. Of course the baseball field and soccer field are still here. I love love this park, a gem in the city

First time there, really nice park, plenty of areas to walk and picnic areas. Family will definitely be back!

I took my toddler to the playground around 6 pm on a Tuesday. This is not somewhere you want to be alone at. There were several people smoking marijuana in their cars in the parking lot as well as inside the actual playground. Adults hanging around using profanity and screaming at their children. The park equipment is not maintained. There are way nicer parks in the area to bring your kids to.

I love it! It has soccer 3 to 5 fields i think, a pretty large playground for children up to 5yo and another for older kids. It has lots of picnic tables and a party picnic spot. It has a lot more! Driving by the park you cant see how large and beautiful it is!

The spray park is nice but the park is not maintained at ALL! Exposed screws and nails in the playground equipment. Makes me very nervous to allow my child to play on it.

Nevin Park is a well kept Mecklenburg County Park located near Statesville Road in North Charlotte. You’ll find a large custom playground for the kids, water park, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, hiking trails and one of the better disc golf courses in Charlotte. This park is well populated and patrolled by county staff. Most of the facilities are still closed due to Covid but you can always come get in a social distancing hike.

Beautiful in the winter and just as fun for the kids.This park has lots of space to run and walk ball fields and in the warm months theres a fountain to get your cool on.Cabanas for picnics and restrooms.Its gated so the park has sun down hours.

Awesome disc golf course, always seems like a private course when playing

Good open space, but when the Sun is out, park playground equipment is very hot to the touch and childrens body. The park should put up tents over the equipment, inexpensive way to cover it.

A great place for parties, reunions, or just to get out. Our Family have alot of events here. The parks are nice as well as the restrooms. Plenty of parking spots, and they also have trails for you to explore the park. I would recommend this park to anyone.

This is a great community park. There is a great assortment of playground equipment and plenty of open space for tossing a ball or flying a kite. We utilized the park for my Granddaughters first birthday photo shoot!

This park is great. the playgrounds over here are really fantastic and Innovative. And the one that has a little castle area is perfect for a Nerf war

Had a wonderful picnic and walk in park. Nice quiet not crowded very child friendly also plenty of swings etc for little ones. Pretty clean restrooms. Covered picnic area. Had a great day here.

Castle park is great for all ages, though has no shade at all. The splashpad is always a hit!

So much fun for children and families of ALL ages. Bathrooms are typically clean at the early part of day. One of the better play areas in parks in Charlotte.

This is a great park for families. Especially during the summer season, when the water is shooting from the grounds. I love how they have a shade covering the spray grounds so the children don’t get over heated. A must go on a hot day and you can have a picnic or a party.

We stayed there for an hour first time there was fun my girls had fun.

My grandchildren loved the splash pad, I did too. Its covered which is what makes it wonderful - the shade, yes. Cant wait to take my grandchildren back to the splash pad. There are also picnic tables in that area. The park, overall all, appears to be great. Looking forward to seeing more of it.

I go to Nevin to walk and bird watch. Its clean, friendly, and the security presence gives me a safe feeling.

This park reminds me of the playgrounds from when I grew up. Quality equipment, clean park, and a fun time for the little one. The park has shelters, picnic tables, all sporting amenities, large canopy tents, fields, and I think I saw some trails. Im happy that we found this place.

Nice shaded places to walk and bike ride

Love walking through the park being surrounded by nature. Place is being taken over though by the disc players. We have to watch out for them while they throw their discs and during tournaments which ruins the park feel. Cant they find another venue or maybe just go back to Winthrop University?

The area has peace appeal! In the summer there are water activities. At the beginning of fall, the foliage creates a vivid color of how great things can be.

We like this park a lot. The splash pad is nice and the playground is fun.

Was absolutely packed on the 4th of July. The grills, covered structure as well as the splash pads being open made for a fantastic day. The grounds and the facilities are well-maintained. Water fountain great to bring your kids if your looking to cool down in the summer.

Very spacious and clean park.

Its an open space with restrooms, it had a water park and its good for outdoor get togethers.

Had a softball tournament here. On Sunday, there was the French Festival that had a tremendous amount of traffic, but we were allowed to park near the fields. Nice park outside. Fields maintained well. My wife said the womens restroom was not very sanitary at all. Ample parking and the only concession was a food truck that was overpriced.

DISC GOLF REVIEW- Keep it in the fairway....I cant be any more clear....you must keep it in the fairway to be successful. This is a hard place. I want to give it no stars, because I hate it....but thats why it gets 4 stars. Par 65 nightmare that easily make you fight to score less than 75!

I took my son to this park for the first. I was driving around to see what it offered. I was at a stop sign with my turn signal on to turn left. The dumbest park ranger ever pulled in front of my blocking my path and had me roll my window down. She sarcastically asked is i was just trying to get some shade? I said no Im turning left. I have my turn signal on and everything... She laughed at me then drove off. I Think someone was on a power trip. Other then her the park was amazing. The 2-5 year old play ground needs a bunch of repairs.

Kids enjoyed it and it was a great place to allow kids to have fun and get to know a new mommy friend!

This is a hidden jewel in the city, especially the kids playground. It has the soft cushion so kids dont get hurt if they fall.

Was at Nevin Park for disc golf. Love the course here. Definitely one of the best in the Charlotte area. Also one of the more demanding courses in the area. Make sure youre hitting your gaps... The long layout will challenge even higher caliber players. May not be the most beginner friendly but definitely check it out to see one of Charlottes better courses and tougher challenges.

Would have been nice to play the disc golf course, but was closed for a tournament with 6 cars in the parking lot. No heads up on website. Inconvenient, but want to try the course still.

Its cool. The sprinkler area is nice but some kids get too rough and wild like theyve never been anywhere.

Nice & clean. Huge park! Its so large that it has to be sectioned off! I love the upgraded playground equipment. Free Sprinkle park here (chlorinated water), two separate playgrounds for older & younger children. Softball field, tennis, football field, & soccer. Well lit upon getting dark. Police presence regularly. Clean restrooms & amazing parking.

Quiet, serene on one side, a softball game was being played, decent amount of shade for picnics, a water park area for children and adults. A peaceful and safe place to be.

Nevin Community Park is a great place to go for both children and adults. They have a really nice walking trail, frisby golf, play areas for the children, and wide open spaces for your fur babies (must be leashed). One thing that they should add would be a dog park. With so much to offer for everyone else, it only seems fair to accommodate the pups. It seems that only the higher end neighborhoods in Charlotte are allowed to have a dog park, and its quite upsetting. Hey, Vi Lyles, if youve got any pull in this area, please put in a good word for us commoners.
