So many awesome things to look at. Definitely takes you back to your childhood. There is an arcade with some pretty cool games that have unlimited play. A wall dedicated to the highest score. You can buy an alcoholic beverage if you’re so inclined. Small gift shop with some great options. My husband, two boys and I had a GREAT time!

My fiance is a huge kid at heart and we both wanted to take a trip back to our youth. This place is small and its cluttered with toys, games, etc but its good for the price you pay. We got a Groupon deal and stayed for about 5 hours in the meuseum. We played Mario, Mario Party, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Pac man and etc. Its free play and you can stay as long as they are opened. The staff was friendly and you can buy some of the items if you like. Awesome day!

We stumbled upon this shop while exploring South Congress and I am so glad that we did. They have a toy museum you can visit for $9 or a small bar with beer and wine. If you buy the museum ticket or a drink you can play in the vintage arcade. We had so much fun showing our kids the old games and playing! Make sure you stop by!

Basically someones personal collection, with lots of stuff for sale, offered as a museum/nfp, with none of the history of the actual toys, companies, or series. The free play arcade, which you can use if you pay for the museum, and comic book store is ok. There are a few really nice cabinets, even some 4 player. Overall, I think as a museum, it doesnt really meet the criteria. If you are looking for history or facts, you will probably be disappointed.

This place could be called a toy collection at best. Two rooms of stuff a guy in his forties never threw out and a handful of barely working old arcade games is not a museum and not worth the price. The displays contained almost no information about the items and showed a complete lack effort in attempting to create a museum for these toys. Do not waste your time or money. The only upside was the clean bathroom.

This place is a toy lovers dream. The price is just right for a trip down nostalgia lane. Mostly 80s and 90s stuff, so dont bother bringing the younglings, the only hands on stuff is the arcade and the games are too dated for kids to really enjoy them. I was told they are expanding and getting a beer&liquor license. Can you imagine this place with a board game room?

What a nice place to visit and have a good time with your friends! They sell items here, like the front of the store, then the other half of the store is where the museum is and it costs $8.00 to get it and to see all the toys displayed. They have snacks if you get the munchies!I strongly recommend you to get together with friends to visit the place because is funner that way. I would definitely go back!

I bought a groupon for 6, would of been freaking HELPFUL if the website said it was not handicap accessible!!!I had to sit outside with my handicapped daughter due to the ridiculously steep flight of stairs. I get that the place is grandfathered and gets out of having to have accessibility but it should be clearly made known on the website.Thankfully it was a groupon, my sister and 2 boys said it definitely wouldnt have been worth full price. Of course no refund for my daughter and I since we were not able to go up. :-(

I wouldnt call this a museum more like a room with display cases. At first you think tickets are only 8 dollars?? Hell yea thats awesome! But then you go in and see the whole museum in under 10 minutes and you feel like you paid 7 dollars more than you should have .Is the collection cool? Yes is it.Is it a museum? No it is not .

Nothing like the photos online due to new location. No signage to to let you know what you were looking at in the display. No background or relevance written next to displays as why these particular toys were relevant and worthy of display. Unless you owned the toys, you would have no idea to the characters names or play sets names. In short, nothing like a museum at all. To add injury to insult, I paid $10 for downtown parking just to go to this specific location. The perk of paying for the admission was you could play free retro arcade games after you went through;however, in the 10 minutes it took us to view the displays, they had pulled all the machines off the wall and disconnected them to work on the bar area that is not finished. It was a Saturday afternoon and they were doing this. I didnt even bother asking why and we left. Oh yeah, no bar yet and they are waiting on liquor license. They should have this prominently displayed on their website.

This Toy Museum is an AMAZING display of history and child-like wonder that you would be crazy to pass up. My only complaint is that it can seem INSANELY small when busy, and that can contribute to VERY high temperatures. It is fun, however, to go inside, try out the vintage arcade machines (they have some OLD ones) and learn more about the items inside. All in all, this is one of the few museums that even kids would enjoy and is definitely a contribution that everyone in Austin, and abroad, should make at least once!
