Beautiful gem of Austin! Must see if youre in town. Very well kept gardens to see for a really nominal fee.The best of all, they allow dogs inside the park too :)

Beautiful little spot for a small stroll outside. The tropical garden (the second one) was beautifully done. The butterfly area has all these little piles of fairy houses that just look like trash which just made it feel trashy. I think they should rethink that part of the gardens. But the rest was good. I think it is priced fairly for what it is.

The best (only?) Botanical gardens in Austin. I love to just wander through the gardens taking occasional pictures or videos of ... Everything here. There are so many picturesque areas, its not uncommon to see couples getting wedding photos or teenage girls getting quinceañera pics on any given day.

Incredible botanical garden that was surprisingly easy to navigate while still offering many paths and places to explore. Perfect for a brisk walk, stroll or jog. You can take it leisurely and get lost in the gardens for hours. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back.

Beautiful gardens with lots of natural diversity. Well organized and good size with topographical change. Great way to spend time outdoors with friends and family. The only downside is that you hear the noise from Mopac which takes away from the serenity of this place

It is a great place to hangout with family and kids. The butterfly park, fish pond, small waterfalls, bonsai, and Japanese park are great spots to keep kids engaged and learning something new at the same time. You can easily spend 2 hrs in the park exploring different parts of the parks. It is also near to other attractions in Austin so can be easily made part of day trip plan. Keep drinking water with you.

2nd time coming here (from outta town) and man oh man is it gorgeous! I was able to take A TON of wonderful photos of my family :) I only wish there was more! Not to say that its not already a huge sanctuary, but I with the fairy houses didnt take up such a large plot of land, but thats just me! I definitely think everyone should go and take plenty of beautiful pictures or at least just appreciate nature and smell the roses

When you first arrive you get pretty impressed, but once you start walking around its a bit of a let down. There really isnt much to see specially for having an admission fee. What saved it from a lower rate was the waterfall and that the staff was pretty nice.Maybe depends on the season that you visit?

The find the scarecrows that are all dressed up differently & hidden in the grounds was really cute and nicely done as well. Super affordable & good for young kids and adults of all ages. This was an AWESOME Trip. Very well kept with nice scenery and a peaceful walk. It was affordable too. $2 per person if you are an Austin resident and $3 per person if you are a Non-Austin resident. They have restrooms inside the Garden Center and they were pretty clean. You can also obtain a map of the garden grounds to help you navigate. They have Bottle Water, Gatorade, and other beverages for sale. There is a $5 minimum though for you to use your credit card.Nice family outing or date spot though. My husband and I will definitely visit again.

The layout of the gardens is great because you can make sure you see everything without back tracking through what youve already explored. Not that it would be horrible, its a garden so its gorgeous. It is still winter (late February early March), so not everything is beautiful and blooming. So I wont fault Zilker for that, but I do hope they go around the grounds and update all their bee/bug homes (forgot to get a photo). Theyre pretty run down and look like they havent been touched on a while. I also wish they had more butterfly and bird houses on the grounds. They have a butterfly garden, but due to the time of year, we didnt see any. But I also didnt see any butterfly homes for them to rest in. There was also an orchid show going on whole we were there, so that was a nice surprise. Great place for families and a great experience for kids to learn about the flora and fauna.

They did have some beautiful specimens but overall a lot of it was just wild flowers and strange fairy gardens that by the end started to seem like a Blair witch spin off.. The pats were wide and easily accessible the bathrooms were clean.. That we did not see a drink or snack machine .. He was a warm day and it would have been refreshing to at least have Enable to buy some overpriced water lol

Went in the middle of winter (still a beautiful day), so there wasn’t much color around. Regardless, a great stroll in a peaceful quiet. Was there on a weekday, at about noon, and there were about 5-10 other parties throughout the grounds, so I didn’t really run into others. It is larger than you see at first glance. Has some nice areas to sit for a picnic, photo shoots, and relax.Only been to a handful of botanical gardens before, but compared to those others, this one is still on the small side, and not very elaborate.

I love the Botanical Garden. It’s a beautiful and tranquil place to go to get away from the “city” and enjoy nature. Unfortunately, at times, the hum of the traffic can be distracting and remind you that the city looms around you, but most of the time it is not an issue. The only other con is that it’s crowded at times. The grounds are breathtaking, well kept, and just a pleasure to meander through. As you walk the trails, you’ll see beautiful city views, various water features, large koi, wildlife, and enjoy a vast arrange of gardens. Also, they have a pioneer settlement where you can view cabins and other buildings. If you are looking to be out in nature, want tranquility, and need to unplug, I highly recommend the gardens. It’s also a great area to bird watch and be sure to take your time through the butterfly gardens. Parking is reasonable and there is a gift shop, restrooms, and water bottle refill station on the grounds. Keep in mind it is not free, and there is a small, but reasonable fee to get in to the grounds. Zilker Botanical Garden is worth the visit. It’s a wonderful place to go to get outside, have a walk, and see some beautiful grounds.

Amazing little botanical garden. The butterfly garden and prehistoric garden are really well done. Went in late May and all Flowers were in full bloom. Zilker Botanical Garden is a very beautiful little spot in the city of Austin, TX with its different garden styles that blend together along with the water features and Koi ponds that give you a wonderful afternoon or whole day if you want of viewing pleasure and that includes some beautiful views of Austin from different parts of the gardens. We had a great time wandering this little gem enjoying every bit of it even though we were between some the blooming times there were plenty of flowers to see and the small donation to get in which was under 5 dollars was amazing I would have been fine with twice that which we did by leaving a little extra in the gift shop.
