We loved the dinosaur area but you were not able to pick up the dinosaur bones and they were hard to find. We liked how they didnt just take random animals they found they took in hurt animals and helped them. We liked how the bird exhibit had labels of each birds story but it was smelly I would suggest do be ready to smell bird and animals.I liked the bridges they were really cool looking and we liked the signs that told you what type of tree it was.

A wonderful experience for kids and adults alike. The kids can explore; dig up dinosaur bones; handle lots of shells, bones, horns, snakes skins, etc. My kids had a blast and we will be making it a regular part of our activities.

It was wonderful to walk through trials of the Zilkar park towards the Barton Springs. We spotted many turtles too. People can jog , walk, take dogs for walk and cycle too. We found kayak places too there. But kayaking is expensive here and also the lake is very narrow for the experience. I prefer kayaking near live love paddle at lady bird lake. There is lot of space and water is nice and shallow. But you have watch out for duck boat there.

The Zilker Nature Preserve was very enjoyable and was very much like the zoo with its animals and sights, the location is great but i think it could have a bigger birds of prey section but otherwise its great. I really think that the dinosaur digging area was a great place to distract the little ones.

This is a nice park but they need to create alternative routes for cars to circle accross or a parking space for all the people at the park to allow two lanes. It took us an hour to get out of the park.

Very educational. If you have homeschool kids and even if you do not it would make a good thing to do after school. go to the dino pit its a area with fake dinosaur bones so your kids can play there. Most of it is like a zoo you can see different kinds of birds and animals, the opossum is so cute! there are 15 different kinds of birds all of them have backstories like one had gotten hit by a car. So go if you want your kids to learn something go here.

Great free place to take the kids. Beautiful habitats, a small but nice animal rescue. There is a bobcat, gray fox, many different birds, and more. Also, an indoor area with everything from snakes to centipedes to tarantulas and turtles. Very educational and interesting to curious minds. Another indoor area has skeletons of various Texas native creatures, collections of bugs, beetles, butterflies and moths, as well as educational stations. Also there are geological samples and probably some things we didnt see. There are beautiful walking trails, with water teeming with animal life, and a trail packed with aviary habitat. This place is a real gem, and a must see especially for the kids.

The austin nature preserve is a wonderful place to spend an hour at but after that if you are not a young kid there isnt much to do overall since there are a lot of other free or inexpensive places around there you can spend a good day having fun around the area great place

We visited the Botanical Garden on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. Even in late September, things were vibrant. The gardens were lovely, especially the Japanese garden. Plantings were well labeled, which made it even more interesting for my amateur botanists heart.
