Its beautiful, the view is absolutely amazing and there is quite often eagles flying especially in the summer months high up in the sky here its a beautiful place to watch the sunset down on the Columbia River I wouldnt recommend assuming this is a park because its not however it has amazing views

10 foot long raised platform with 3 interpretive signs: I saw water & weeds. No trails or facilities. Parking on the edge of both sides of the road for a total of 4 cars. Average person stayed 2-3 minutes.

Nice place for a stop off the main highway. Good place for lunch with a view. I didnt see any eagles on my visit, but Im sure they are around as I saw them elsewhere all along the route to Astoria. There is only a viewing platform here. There are no services/restrooms.

While this place is rather large, the only public access is a small platform boardwalk across the road. Im sure early in the AM there is more critters to see. A fun simple stop on the way to the coast. Pro tip bring a real camera with a zoom lens your phone will not cut it.

The eagle sanctuary turn off is located about 5 miles west of the Svensen/Burnside intersection on the right side of hwy 30 headed toward Astoria. The exit is marked by road signs that lead one to the little pull off spot on the side of a little backroad. There isnt much for site if you drive too fast to pay attention and see it as all u see is a fenced in wooden little seating area with a landmarking of posted information. It stands amidst a breathtaking view of the Columbian River and the sanctuary grasslands. Eagles nests above in the trees are sometimes spotted as is on the occasion of spotting a bald eagle fly above as they surface the area. There is a little area patches out to walk further down toward the river which leads to the Pacific railroad that used to run through transporting between Astoria and Portland. It is altogether quiet, untouched by anything unnatural or intrusive to the environment, and very peaceful. Its a lovely place to sit and collect ones thoughts or another breathtaking photo of the river and /or sunset.
