We went there on Saturday to do Bhandara and it was an amazing experience making food for 200 people and then eating and enjoying it! They extended the temple room and it is very large and beautiful now with new restrooms bring made. Amazing place to visit and do your prayers, I gave it a 5/5 which is not easy to get from me.

The temple is currently being renovated from the ground up, so a visit right now may not be the best that this temple has to offer. However, if you are visiting for spiritual reasons, none of that will matter. There is a peacefulness here that transcends all of that.I spent over two hours here meditating in the old temple and walking the grounds. At the time of my visit, it had been snowing pretty heavily and this lent a quiet and noble air to the surroundings. There was food and drink available and everyone that was there was very careful to be respectful to those who were meditating in the temple. They have a fairly decent gift/thrift shop that provides knick knacks as well as clothing and books.

Hanuman is the monkey God of devotion and service. This statue is called a murti---under certain conditions the living Hanuman is present. Ram Dass played a major part in having the murti made in India and moved to Taos. Recently the temple was expanded. Beloved spiritual teacher Ram Dass passed away Dec 22, 2019. A 2019 photo of him is attached.

People more than the temple its tribute to Neem Karoli Baba and his teachings. Please do not go expecting it to be lavish temple like ISKON or SWAMI NARAYAN. Babaji was avadhoota, they are very ancient practioner of Yogic tantras but without any rituals more of meditating and devotion. The only thing is this place has strong energy and vibrations. It follows the Ashram Pratha service dedication and doing sadhna, while a practicing this form, you dont need high end environment, you need tough conditions like in the Himalayas. I have lived in Gangotri, and seen many yogis practice this way. Hence keep your expectations limited, just experience the flow of vibrations.

This Unique Place was the first Hanuman Temple in the United States. The western devotees had this large flying marble Murti (diety statue) made in Jaipur, Rajasthan India in the mid / late 1970s. This 10 acre location is a 10 minutes walk from the historic Taos Town Square. Prasad (food offered to the dietes) is served (not sold). This whole property is dedicated to the well known Indian Saint Neem Karoli Baba by His devotees.

Anyone is welcome of whatever faith or just in need of a place to rest your heart and mind.
