The primarily red-brick construction on the outside really does not do justice to the spectacular-looking main hall in the inside. As a visitor, there does not appear to be anything to see or do here anymore, other than to take photos. Although perhaps you dont have to do much. One could simply take a seat and try to imagine the hubbub that the station experienced in its heydays before regular train services ceased only 60 years after the building was opened. Such a shame that more active use could not be made.
Nicely restored grand railroad station in Seattles International District. Grand Concourse with barrel vault marble ceiling. No longer used as an active passenger terminal but open to public during the day. Amtrak and Sounder trains are active in recently restored King Street Station across the road. Easy to get to via light rail, trolley and bus. On edge of historic China Town and Pioneer Square with plethora of food and entertainment options. A few blocks from Elliott Bay Waterfront.
Beautiful spot for the photographer. Went around 10:30 AM on a Tuesday and the place was almost empty. Open to the public during the day, so grab a cup of coffee with a friend and head here. Bring the camera and take some artsy pictures. I’ll definitely be returning with my DSLR to take some professional shots.
They have amazing security and its a beautiful hall to just go ama site see
Beautiful building architectural design is really impressive for the era. The building itself is in remarkable condition. The inside is clean but has a sketchy feeling to it. Lots of people around that look homeless. Walking up to the building is a real sketchy thing. Homeless people everywhere with the smell of urine is everywhere. There are lots of people with a police presence so I dont worry about issues its just not a comfortable situation walking around at times. If you like early 1900 architecture its worth a visit to see the building.
Cascadia Rail is needed here with 200 mph trains. The current service, convenience, and architecture are good, though.
Beautiful Architectural gem., though acoustics leave something to be desired. Because of its shape and hard surface areas it is very echoy.
Awesome display of Beaux Art Architecture but simply too tall for proper acoustics after dinner party.
The great hall one of the most beautiful indoor public spaces in Seattle. There are clean safe restrooms too.
Its a fine transit stop. Near many useful destinations. Not too many psychotics.
Very cool place. Just passed through it briefly but very nice. Clean and easy to figure out where you are going.
There will tell up front, we dont care about our customers. Ended up buying from video only. I will never do business with them going foward!
Beautifully kept historic public building. The train station from way back when. Bathrooms and seating inside. Security helps keep the homeless from sleeping in there. Take a peek. Has nice acoustics. You can rent it for events.
Sheltered place to rest your feet
Transit security officers were super friendly and helpful
Nice/versatile venue space
I honestly had no Idea i was even here. So maybe some better signs to advertise to tourists.
The grandeur of old Seattle ...
Nice friendly security staff
Classy train station. The architecture of the building is beautiful. Staff seem to be nice but not as cooperative. Train isn’t always on schedule. Prepare to be 30 min late, sometimes more.
Place where homeless go to hide from the cold. Bathrooms are a disaster.
A beautiful piece of Seattle Architecture
Near the centurylink field. Weekends and night time many homeless but good location for buses going north
Its cool, sometimes you get help and sometimes a cold stare
Beautiful architecture. I didnt use the station, but Im sure I would havr gotten anywhere I needed to, had I
Great place to hang your English teacher.
This place is amazingly beautiful and one of the last free bathrooms downtown.
Great place to visit n hang out.
Magnificent restored building
Beautiful beautiful place .
Nice experience.
You might think Im a guy behind a screen with a mask on when giving this place 2 stars, and you would be right.
Probably a decent place. Im working in the area and my review of my work location is its dirty, dusty and hardly any lighting. Its very noisy. I work in the construction industry. The parking garage is overpriced.
The inside of Union station is amazing its like stepping back in time. The architecture is phenomenal, the building is very clean when comparing it to Seattle and security is always around to help.
Great place for a party!
Nice station but Amtrak is a hot mess.
The Union Station was built between 1910 and 1911. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
Nice beautiful building
It was cool I guess
Love this place
Just a train station. Building is ok but nothing particularly special.
Had my prom at this venue. For rental its great.
Its beautiful
Beautiful. Public restrooms.
Its a regular station nothing to brag about
A great bus station
Just like the rest of Seattle, under construction, when that project is done they will tear it down and try again, with no improvements.
Love going to union station
Awsome acoustics
Classic subway feel
Fairly clean and beautiful architecture spanning back a long time.
10 minutes stop on our way to California using the Amtrak! It was a great 10 minutes in Seattle!!
Nice place, security is always present.
Beautiful architecture
Beautiful inside
Hard to find, but ok otherwise.
