I wanted to visit The Foundation, after reading “The Moment of Lift” and I already awared of what is happening here. I saw with my own eyes what kind of things are being accomplished and still continuing. I loved the invention’s of South African people’s to make their life easier. This place has given so much inspiration, information and creativity. Everything is designed so creatively and engaging. There is guided tour at 2 pm and it was pretty busy. I really loved this place and their effort is making the world a better place!

One of the most underrated spots in all of Seattle. If youre a forward thinker and want to learn about how the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is changing the world with the support of its many partners and employees, this place is not to be missed. Centrally located near Seattle Center but away from the CBD, you can experience a medium sized gallery divided up in to 4 large sections. Every section captures your attention with audio/visual presentation and many hands on exhibits to allow visitor interaction. Highly recommend checking out this place whether youre young or old, in a group or alone. Tours at 2pm from Tuesday-Saturday.

I love what Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has to offer the world. The Discovery Center summarizes some key highlights of the foundation to the point where it’s very easy for audiences of all ages and all backgrounds to understand. There are interaction stations as well as detailed explanations of each topic. You can learn as much and as little as you’d like. This is an information place that will not bore its audience. There are also many corners that helps you make a difference to the world right here right now. I was able to decorate and put together a crafts bag of painting supplies for children in need.

This center is next to the building housing the Bill & Melinda gates Foundation. It contains exhibits that discuss the various programs the foundation support and its underlying philosophy. The exhibits explain what they believe in, what they think is useful in terms of eradicating disease, etc. its really quite interesting and is a great way to spend a few days. Since its all indoors, it would be a great rainy day activity.

A worthwhile visit. The location is convenient, right across from many other attractions, its free, and its well done. They have it set up as a narrative, right from when you walk in. You hear the stories of people affecting change in their local areas. You learn about some of the key areas the foundation is focusing on and they present very digestible facts about the problems being tackled. The We The Future campaign highlights youth activists and its filled with support materials. Then it ends with a room dedicated to inspiring the visitors (you) to be part of a positive change.

Love how they obviously are trying to inspire others to assist in making the world a better place. I appreciate how positive they are about breastfeeding and highlight how healthy it is for mom and baby! I hope they focus their resources on sanitation and hygiene efforts and less on vaccines. As a medical professional and childbirth educator I would love to be involved in assisting women in other countries have healthier pregnancies and deliveries as well as making it even better in the United States. Thank you for all you guys do Bill and Melinda.

Very interesting stop near Seattle Center. Its free, so you might as well head on in if youre in the area. The exhibits are very well put together, and they fit a lot of information in a relatively small area. Everything is very thought-provoking, and it lets you know both what has been already done and what you can do in the future.

I first walked into the Foundation building, but was then told where the Discovery building was (the one with the revolving door!). Staff members were very friendly & welcoming. I came 30 minutes before the daily 2 o’clock tour, so I watched the introduction video & all other videos available in the entrance room and I’m glad I did—I think that was my favorite part of the center. At 2:00, I was part of a large tour group with staff member Romson. I have mixed feelings about the tour: some information was interesting, but most of it was not (& I could tell other visitors felt the same). Perhaps on a different day or with another worker, the tour would be more enjoyable. However, I would recommend going and reading the information available rather than taking the free tour. The center is not very big but there is plenty to do for an hour or so. Overall, a great experience.

It was eye opening.Don’t miss the bathrooms, where you can enjoy some eye opening sanitation facts. All in all, I came out more informed and motivated. Two thumbs up.

A thoroughly inspiring afternoon was had at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. We took the 2 PM tour with Tom and that was helpful and informative. Tom hit the highlights and was pleasant, upbeat and communicated effectively about how the foundation has employed its circular feedback model to adjust its direction with regards to seeking solutions. It is staggering looking at the list of grants the foundation has made and the work that had been done through its partner organizations. But a clear message communicated by the foundations museum is that each of us can make a difference. There is much to do in Seattle. You ought to carve out a couple of hours to visit.Time well spent.

I went for the Saturday 2pm guided tour. The tour guides style was to engage the audience by asking them questions about the foundation. Really? Im there to learn about the foundation. I didnt study up on the foundation before arriving. The tour guides style just made for awkward silence for the most part, and I found it annoying. Instead, I broke away from the tour, and just did a self guided tour. I would not go here again, nor would I recommend it to friends.I think its great that this mega company is doing something like this with some of their mega profits, instead of just making their mega companies even more mega.

If youre bored with nothing else to do...otherwise, you can skip it and not have missed much. This museum is beautiful and well put-together, its mission is rather unclear to my travel guest and I who toured it together. It has a lot of heart and it shows a side of Bill & Melinda that is very kind and generous with an extension of loving however, after walking through the museum you left with a rather confused and numb feeling as to what was the entire museum all about.Video kiosks and 2 theaters as well as multiple photos, numerous displays and even a craft section seem to form a rather bleak picture those in third world countries who need our help however, there seems to be no clear message as to what we can do as visitors beyond look at whats wrong and think a bit about it and then walk out the museum. I personally Im not sure why the building though as beautiful as it is exists. my guest and I left the building scratching her head saying: Im not exactly sure what that was all about. Huge effort on many peoples behalf to create this lovely center but...if Id have missed it, Id have gained 45 minutes back.
