Fully enclosed dog park with bountiful parking nearby. Closed on Wednesdays and watch out for street cleaning rules if youre parking. This is a fun, friendly off leash park with heat city views.

Coming from Hawaii, I have a biased perception of hiking and nature.Runyon is a nice hike for exercise. You can go uphill for legs and glutes, or run on pavement. You can select different paths and take time going around the Canyon. You will also have some views of Griffith Park and the Hollywood sign.

Love this place for doggies. Shut down for cleaning every Wednesday. So got to plan for that!

I have been checking out different dog parks in the bay are and so far this one defines the gold standard. Unlike some others Ive seen, they dont have separate areas for small and large dogs. But the place is pretty huge. If your dog doesnt socialize much but likes to hike around off leash, this park has that. It is a large flat grass field bordered by a steep retaining wall with a little forest and trails. If your dog likes to play, there are tons of dogs here, of all types. The people who come here seem to have their act together. I didnt see any knuckleheads with crazy dogs here. There is a section with woodchip mulch as well. The only surface missing here is sand. A little sand area would be nice, although I imagine it would get filled with poop.tldr this is the best dog park in the bay area in my opinion.

Big, grassy area. Some terrain, but mostly flat. Large for SF. Obstacle course. Water fountain. Ample seating.

Closing from Nov. 30 till March. Cant wait for it to reopen. Its our familys favorite park.

This is an amazing dog park! Its the biggest fenced in dog park that Ive been to in San Francisco, its primarily grass but has some chip and some dusty rock area out the back that you can claim up and around with your pup if you want. This is an off leash dog park so as always you must keep an eye on your dog, clean up after it and if you have an aggressive dog, this probably isnt the park for you.There is a water fountain on the far side with a bowl for the dogs, I wouldnt recommend drinking from it your was it seems pretty dusty.My only caution is that since it is such a large dog park there can be quite a large number of dogs present off leash at once. Also since it is a grassy area with some hills there is some areas with foxtails that youll want to steer clear of. I know some people have been removing them when they go but you know weeds will be weeds.The view is also amazing from this park!

Its a great dog park, a lot of room, and some great rocks to climb on and mostly friendly people.

Stupid park and rec closes place on Wednesdays. There are a lot of dog walkers here during the day. In the evening it is a really lovely community of dog owners.

Great neighborhood dog park. Basically one big open field for running of leash and ball play. Small hiking trail with some step parts around the outside. Super friendly atmosphere. Fully fenced with double gated entrance. Parking can be scarce during busy times, would recommend walking there if possible.

Go with my dad, when he visits and walk his dogs. Lawn area is kept in good condition. Trees and plants all around area, wide walking path all around area and people pickup after their dogs, clean. People go there to do walking for exercising. Play ground area has sand and safe structures for children to play on, its great for children, (no animals allowed in that area). Building with restrooms. A police training center, (I think thats what its called), is by the area and behind small hill, cant see it. Very nice & clean walking areas around.

Shush! This is our secret. Dont tell anyone how awesome this place is.Its not open Wednesday because Parks and Rec actually clean it every week.

It is the best dog park in SF which has real grass. Unfortunately they close it at least 3 to 4 months for repair.

The park is surrounded by tall tress, it used to be an old quarry, a baseball field later and finally now a dog park. It has great bay views, a water fountain and plenty of grass and space for the dogs, to run, there are not different areas for big and small dogs. It is quite windy, so layer up!

The dog park is great, however, the neighborhood isnt safe anymore. I got my car broken into a few days ago, being parked at the corner for only 30 mins! I couldnt believe how quickly it all happen.

This place is amazing. One of the larger dog parks in the area. It is closed on Wednesday, tho.

Parks worker was there today at noon- nice to see they are monitoring for dog walkers are not aloud at this park. Lots of running area, water and sunshine Watch out for parking-street cleaning days can be tricky next to park look at the signs carefully.

My handsome dachshund loves to play with the other dogs on Saturday mornings when its usually the most crowded which in this case, is the best time for him to waste more energy! Everyone is super friendly and caring of their pets. Its a great community.

I love this park and my furry son Watson feels the same way. We are regulars with my husband and the cute mutt we have. Wednesdays we need to go to Stern Grove as Upper Douglas gets cleaned. I highly recommend to give it a try and see if you like it.

Excellent dog park with a million dollar view. Double gated so hard to escape, 2 water sources for dogs and humans, huge grassy open yard, hiking trail around upper perimeter, several benches, only down side is closed Wednesdays. If/when rest rooms are refurbished and opened, then I give it 5 star rating.

One of the few gated and well-maintained parks in SF that offers so much space for dogs to run, fountains for drinking, and a moderately steep hill for hiking. There is no separation of large/small dog area, so all dogs are in a single open space. This park can get exceptionally muddy at times depending on weather. Parking is all street parking, but its always a breeze to find. Its open early and closes late and owners are generally always polite and friendly.

Wonderful place to take your dogs to run freely in a fenced in area. Was previously a softball field, so plenty big for all size dogs. Lots of grass, great view of downtown SF, water fountain, benches to sit on, shade from huge trees on the perimeter, sunny in the field, and plenty of great and responsible dog owners. Also lots of street parking, no parking lot.

I this park has it all! Great to let your dog run free, completely fenced in all sides with agility training jumps and if your dog is adventurous, a big cliff side to explore. Definitely my favorite place to take my dogs. Parking has never been an issue it can be a bit chilly in the late afternoon evenings.

Tons of people. Feel like I am disturbing the neighborhood with all the dogs. It use to be a place where kids played baseball. Hard to park too.

I love this city for the fact that it is so dog friendly, they took this old baseball field and made it a dog park. It has amazing views and last year they even had it closed for a little bit to re-seed the grass for the doggos

This is a huge dog park that is always filled with plenty of dogs. It does get muddy when it’s damp or wet even a day or two after a rain. No toilets in the park, but there is a kids playground a half block below the park with toilets....but no dogs allowed in that park.

Great spot to take the dogs. Water is available. Some dogs will get wild and fight. Limited parking but not hard to find something.

Its so fortunate to have such a wonderful dog play area close by. Its a fenced in one, so sometimes you get the less well trained dogs there. But on the whole, its awesome and great views to boot.

There is a really nice volunteer lady that puts up signs, helps people and cleans up poop! Dogs love her!

This is a great enclosed dog park. Its large and well maintained. Its also very pretty.

I did not know about this magic forest until a few months ago. Love it and fantastic for dogs -the best in the city!

Tons of space, great for meeting other dogs (and their people) and long throw fetch. Get your pup socialized and tired out. They have a little basket right by the entrance for tennis balls and a water dish with a hose. The view is also pretty amazing- on a clear day you can see right to the bay and downtown. There are a lot of dogs/people on the weekends but there is still plenty of space- it doesn’t feel crowded at all. (At least not up until noon when we leave.)

Most diverse landscape in a park which is completely fenced in. Visibility is perfect across the soccer field, & even if you & your dogs climb the rocks & circle the upper half of upper Douglass, completely fenced in.
