Great museum to check out. It is very small but packed with cool firefighting gear from the past. And it is connected to an active fire station with modern equipment. A very worthwhile visit.

Great insight in to the history of San Francisco and the fire service. Lots if old photos, apparatus and other memorabilia. My kids loved it.As a side note, the museum is attached to an active fire house, station 10 that has an engine and a truck stationed there.

Very cool local museum with a lot of gear packed into a small space. It is open weekends and sometimes Thursday and Friday - make sure to call ahead to check if someone is there. The firemen next door are also very friendly.

Excellent museum with friendly staff. Its not a very big museum but they have packed a lot into it. The thing I found most fascinating was how the technology changed over the years as you go round from the enterance. Well worth a visit even though it is a bit out of the way but the #43 & #38 buses stop within a few minutes walk from Geary & Masonic to it.

Small museum with limited hours - call before going to make sure they are open. Packs in quite the collection of antique firefighting equipment Andy memorabilia. Display cases line the outside of the room with badges, helmets, clothes, and extinguishers. The middle of the room has horse-drawn and steam-powered fire engines, and a few fire alarm boxes and switchboards. A few items are for sale at the front desk.
