Truly a fun place to bring the whole family. So much to do and its fantastic to have our kids see the stories we read to them come to life sort of speak. For example, theres Alice in Wonderland which we love to read and here at the park they have a little Alice in wonderland section where kids can walk through the house of cards, see the mad hatters tea party and so much more.

No start rating, as we didnt actually ride. My kid is terrified of them right now, so we just watched from afar. Lucked out that it was open, as the museum is closed Mon/Tues. $4 a pop is pretty steep, considering its a 2-minute ride, so you have to judge your kids possible enjoyment level. ;) The ride operator was very friendly and understanding of the toddlers hesitance, returned our money as soon as the tears started (before the ride started).

My favorite place as a child I got to relive it as an adult! Fairytales 101 for the children now days! No one knows who Jack and the bean stalk is anymore! Regardless of what fairytales they know this is a must for children to attend! Created before Disneyland, this is one mans dream that has turned into a legacy for children to enjoy. With rides, puppet shows, slides and mazes for them to enjoy. See my pictures for more detail!

Fun time with fast cars. Quick trip before heading to the airport with colleagues. I will make it a group outing next year.

A very nice location in the heart of San Francisco, you will get $1 off of you have the museum ticket. It is not just a short carousel ride the the price is not really worth the money like in the carnivals, but this is a big one and run around that you and kids would not be wondering to get more rides and add up to the cost. It is definitely worth and recommended if you are in the area to visit Yerba Buena garden and its plenty of activity and event throughout the year.

It takes forever in between each ride. Not sure if the they need to wait a certain time in between each of them or if the people who works here are lazy.

The museum is great. They encourage outside the box thinking and creativity.Outside the museum is the carousel My daughter loved it. She wanted to go on it again. We paid $3 since we went to the museum. Otherwise its $4.Highly recommend this carousel for parents whose kids are crazy about Carousel. Beautiful view at this place.

Nice carousel, 2 rides for $4. Tons of construction around it so not exactly peaceful, but still nice.

Visited today around 10 am. Young gentleman running the carousel was quite knowledgeable about its history and pointed out his favorite animals from the menagerie. Im a vintage carved wood carousel fan and most operators arent as knowledgeable or friendly. He also knew about other carousels in the area.

One of very few carousels available for children in the Bay Area. In good shape, everythings clean, 2 rides per ticket. Not bad!

A very neat classic carousel at Yerba Buena, with friendly and accommodating operators (they even let us do a short, impromptu photoshoot there). If you have young children, this would be a great place to take them.

This is now called the LeRoy King Carousel. We went to the grand reopening ceremony and that LeRoy is quite a guy!How cool it is to have an original 1906 Looff carousel right in the heart of San Francisco. Not just any Looff carousel but the original carousel that spun at Playland At The Beach for 58 years. It was recently completely restored and is absolutely beautiful down to every detail, from the shiny lacquered hardwood floors to the polished gears and rods that run so smoothly once again. The only thing missing is the old band organ. You might walk right by it, but dont mix this historical machine up with a cheap Pier 39 merry go round because this is the genuine thing. And its worth a ride by both the little kids and the big kids.
