Probably one of the best sunsets I have seen over the Pacific Ocean. Lots of people here yet enough room to enjoy the peaceful sunset along with your loved ones. The best part is that you can also watch people trying to capture their own version of this sunset on their respective phones and cameras. This is not a point to miss on your SF trip.

My father walked the beat here in the 1950’s as a SFPD officer. We as kids used to play in the ruins during the mid 60’s. I remember the big tunnel but it was the little one next to it that scared the life out of us. Pitch black after about 10 feet in. Looking at the pics brought back cherished memories. I can’t remember anytime in my childhood that i said to my parents “I’m bored”. This was a wonderful time and place to grow up as a kid. A must see.

Lovely place to explore. Make sure you first stop at the visitors center to know exactly what was here at this magnificent cove. If you have issues walking make sure you hike down carefully as its a steep descent. Once down you will see what is remaining of the pools people once used to bask in. The park is big and it has a cabe which is short but still fascinating. From what i have read it was used to draw water to fill in the pools straight from the ocean.

Amazing places with awesome views and intriguing history. The museum was a nice stop. Be prepared to climb many stairs! Lots of stairs. But worth the effort especially further down the trail for better ocean views, the caves and a fantastic view of the golden gate bridge. Very natural and serene place.

Just so breathtakingly beautiful. I always take visiting family and friends here. It’s such a treat to walk the ruins and see the baths foundation up close. Grab a drink and an appetizer at the Cliff House next door prior to your visit where they have many videos and pictures of the baths in its heyday.

This area was incredible. It’s also near Golden Gate Park if you want to make a day or afternoon of your visit. You can go and explore the remnants of the Sutro Baths. The walk down is a little steep but quite manageable. There is a little cave tunnel which you can walk through and see more of the area through the other side. Overall it’s a very neat experience and a place I’d happily visit again!

Such a cool little place to visit. Apparently it was once a giant swimming pool complex with a bunch of different perks but after the guy who created it passed, his family only kept it open for so long and then it was eventually torn down. You get some amazing views from this place and its not everywhere youre allowed to go explore ruins of an old complex.

We happen to stumble across this place by just looking at a map in checking this out by accident. Well I’m from the East Coast and live in Tennessee it was in San Francisco for a week, this was found on the last day of our trip prior to leaving and by far was the best Place an experience of the trip. I highly recommend arriving a couple hours before sunset walking around and exploring eating dinner and then watching the sunset on the beach. This is an excellent spot.

Five stars for this free experience. Now in ruins, this circa 1896, expansive public bathhouse once held seven saltwater swimming pools, per Google. You can visit the site to learn the interesting civil rights component of the history. Great for active people who want to see the water. Not as ideal for people who need accessible accommodations.

This place was very cool to explore for an hour or so!There are quite a steep set ofstairs and walkway down, so I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with limited mobility. You can walk along the edge of the baths and sit overlooking the bay. There’s a fair amount of people walking around, but the waves crash loudly enough to give your own sense of privacy.Off to one side, there’s a little cave tunnel where you can look down and see some waves coming in, and there’s a great vista at the end.

Ive been to the Bay area 5 or so times now and this is by far my favorite place to visit. You can climb all over everything so its great for your older kids. Young kids may find it to be dangerous to climb around so definitely have adult supervision. People were climbing around in the roped off areas on the trail. This was upseting because as the signs explained they were roped off to protect wildlife. People also climbed in the closed areas of the ruins which is nice that its not regulated strictly so that you can explore. Its right by the ocean. The gift shop had a 75% off table which was amazing. I got so many great souvenirs for people. Traiks are fun to walk around too because they are paved and Im pretty sure there is not stairs.
