Designed by the same person who planned central park in New York. Two playgrounds, a water play feature, lake with geese and ducks, some picnic areas have barbecues. Lovely place for morning walks but be aware that many homeless people sleep here at night - its safe during the day but avoid after sunset. There are often car shows, city events, and large family gatherings/reunions held here so know that there may be crowds especially on weekends.

Nice park. Really enjoyed bike riding there. Loved the huge pond. There is a narrow street that goes around it you can bike, also walking path/bike path closer to the pond, and a small paved/rocky path that will lead you to other bike trails to explore I believe is the Santa Ana trail

Really nice outdoor space. Well kept and mostly clean. The lake does need some maintenance and there is occasional trash left behind. I imagine this place needing more maintenance during non-covid times but for now it was a great way to get outdoors and enjoy nature. Some benches and picnic tables scattered throughout and lots of water fowl and other wildlife. Can be found.

For somewhere to spend some time outdoors with social distancing in mind, this place is great. Bring a chair and spending some time relaxing while enjoying the shade. There’s plenty of spots that offer enough distance away from the walkways.

First of all this park is my favorite place to go to relax with a lil nature in a big city the views are spectacular! There are MANY playground for all age kids. There is even a water feature. There is bird watching, golf, fishing etc. Many many places for barbecuing and picnics. There is a rose garden, and historical things such as a stream engine, a real tank. The trees are my favorite they are beautiful and hundreds of years old. Yes people always talk about the homeless but there arent that many and I feel they just want to enjoy the beautiful park to take a load off and relax just like us. Bathrooms are OK bring your own paper FYI. Theres never any in the restrooms. I recommend this park to relax and walk the fabulous lake.

I’d give a rating of 3 or 3.5, but can only give 4. This park is good, considering the distance to downtown RIVERSIDE+ACCESS TO TRAIL+Access to Mt. Rubidoux. The lake (Lake Evans) stinks and is littered with fishing line. This may be the greatest park in Riverside City, for photo session, meets. My complain is the Not so great maintenance considering it being a “Jewel of Riverside”.

Beautiful park to visit! The lake is HUGE and has a few geese & ducks. The trees around the lake and willow-like and hang down very picturesque. :) The rose garden was locked up when I went, maybe due to COVID? But either way, its a lovely place for a picnic or family get-together. LOTS of space to spread out in the huge park.

This is a stunning park with plenty of space to enjoy. There is a bike path that stays off to the SART and public bathrooms. Seasonally there are pedal boat rentals, art installations and events like 5K fundraisers. The best time to come is at sunset to watch it reflect off of Lake Evans. It is typically very clean with diligent arborists and landscapers doing an excellent job of caring for the park. The primary challenge is the shortage of parking on weekends.

Very pretty pond park. Great for picnics. The bathrooms were closed which I dont think any public bathrooms should be closed during a pandemic because you are closing off something for people to be able to wash their hands and poop and pee rather than say pooping in public somewhere.Having a bathroom be public should be mandatory, its a human right to go to the bathroom in a private area, also so our parks stay beautiful.Ok Im done.Beautiful park. Id definitely visit again.

I was staying at a hotel close to this park and did an early morning walk there. It was a beautiful park with nice walking trails. There are a number of out buildings and picnic sites. There is a population of ducks and geese that live at the lake and many of them swam to greet me. There appears to be boat rentals and fishing opportunities. The park is beautifully designed and landscaped. There are numerous varieties of mature palm trees which made a beautiful silhouette and backdrop for the sunrise. It’s a perfect place for a walk or jog. I deducted one star because there were a number of homeless campsites scattered around the park.

Back in 1956 I was 5 years old, and my brother was 12. Our family often went to Fairmount Park throughout the years, most often on Saturdays with family and friends for picnicking. It was a much more active time. The music concerts, and the boating facility had motorboats, canoes, paddle boats, and row boats as well. There were food/snack booths too. Across from the lake on the Northside we had a fun park with permanent rides, and a carnival type environment, various gaming booths, and food! It was a wonderful place to go to back then as a child. It is still a great place to visit to walk, ride a bicycle, picnic, or just sit, fish and/or watch the ducks, geese and enjoy the scenery! The rose garden is a favorite of mine and my wife. My wife and I still come and often bring a Deilas grinder for lunch and eat it in the park enjoying the environment! Nostalgically, I do miss the old times, and old downtown too.Go and enjoy the park and the rose garden. If you have never been there you likely wont regret going for a visit, or two, or maybe more.

It was just Ok because the lake was muddy and had debris. The ducks and other birds were few and didnt look clean. They have benches that were good to sit on but not entirely clean. The place needs upkeep but if they cant afford all the cleaning costs I understand. I dont plan to go back unless its cooler weather and better upkeep.
