Rented the space to watch a movie as a safe socially distant activity, it was great, I love the homey feel to the Rialto. They are amazing here.

One of the best places to see a movie in Raleigh. Classic single-screen art house that transports you to a different era. The screen and the theater is much bigger than youd expect from the outside, and even the front row is a great seat. They truly care about the presentation of the MOVIE, not just the superficial luxuries youll find in chain theaters. Movie is always in frame, always in focus, and always at the correct aspect ratio. On the rare - and I do mean rare - occasions where I report a problem to the staff (like the lights not turning all the way off) they seem legitimately mortified and fix it immediately. So refreshing to find a movie theater that cares.

I have been coming here for The Rocky Horror picture show intermittently for a very long time. Its always a fun and interesting time and anyone should experience it once. Coming here for Rocky is a Raleigh treasure I would suggest for anyone that wants a fun Friday at midnight.

I love the community feel of this theater. Great place to find your independent and arthouse films, but its not limited to that. Plenty of food/drink options within walking distance if you want to grab a bite or drink before the show. That might help with parking, which can be tricky on Glenwood. You can purchase tickets online, no surcharge. Reasonably priced concessions, including beer and wine.

This place is just nostalgia for me. This is an old style movie theater that shows mostly art films. I cannot rate this place highly enough. I really want this place to stay in business. Pleasant staff. Good beer. They often show hard-to-find films that cannot be found anywhere else.

The Rialto takes you back in time to a 50s 60s experience. The decor is genuinely retro. However, I found the theater very clean. We went to see, Wont You Be Me Neighbor, which was an excellent choice for my first visit here. The street parking is limited. We came just before the movie and I recommend arriving early. The staff handled an overflow of last minute customers well. By the way, these are Very polite theater goers here.Noted the beer sales, which would interest me if I were not driving. Entered the theater itself to see a vintage decor in excellent condition. The seats we comfy, just a little laid back.Saw mostly a mature audience drawn to this particular showing. The theater was about two thirds full, with people avoiding the front rows. Will Definitely return to the Rialto. I am now a fan.

We really enjoy date night at the Rialto. The theater is older, but the seats are very comfortable. The popcorn is still made the old fashioned way and tastes great. Drink cups are small in comparison, but both drinks and popcorn can be refilled for just $1.00. Weve always found the staff to be very friendly. In addition to the standard fare, they offer a small bar with beer and wine.

A more classic theater experience- only shows one film at a time for a run, one theater, tons of seats- and the seats are super comfy. Popcorn and drinks are all reasonably priced. Go early on popular nights to get a decent seat!

Art house movies with a neighborhood feel. The movies change regularly so if there is something you like playing do not procrastinate-I have missed many a movie by waiting. Nice bar selection too. It is definitely retro -do not go for the comfort of the seats. The friendliness of the staff and the movie selections overcome this shortcoming.

Not the best picture. Okay sound. Small, grungy, and can get kind of hot inside during the summer. But hot damn, if youre a film nerd, the curation here will keep you coming back. This is a theater for people who want to go to midnight screenings of old movies or see the latest foreign film as soon as it hits the U.S. Been coming here for a long time, and dont plan on stopping!

The Rialto on Glenwood near the Five Points area has a single theater and shows niche and independent movies. It is apparently family-owned, according to their website. We went there for the first time today and had a great experience - the proprietor is very accommodating and ready to serve, greeting us at the door when we entered. Parking is a challenge - the theater does not have a parking lot at all, so you have to park on neighboring streets, and they accept cash only so make sure you come prepared with cash on hand. If you forget there are a few ATMs within walking distance. The ambiance inside is wonderful - clean, posh, and the lighting was very nice in the theater and in the foyer. They dont bombard you with commercials anywhere and the movie previews before the feature show were minimal, pertaining to what their theater would be showing. Their popcorn is great, being cooked with coconut oil and a secret blend of spices. Butter is optional. They serve various snacks and alcoholic beverages, all of which are reasonably-priced. A very UN-traditional theater, highly recommended. One star deducted for the lack of parking lot, which exposes their patrons to a very dangerous intersection - the Five Points intersection. Be careful when crossing Glenwood!
