Our family rented a theatre for a holiday movie. Tickets were purchased in advance and all food and drink was preordered. We chose our seats for appropriate spacing and awaited the show. The staff were friendly and took all precaution, the food came hot, the drinks cold, and the movie was enjoyed by everyone. I didnt think I could trust such an endeavor in these times but I felt safe and comfortable.

Last night was the first time my girlfriend and I had ever visited an Alamo Drafthouse and we were blown away. The staff was amazing, the theater was comfortable, the prices were fantastic, and I (personally) appreciate the cinema’s strict adherence to theater-going etiquette. On the car ride home, we both agreed that there is really no good reason to justify going back to those other big-chain theaters. Everything you need (and more) you can get at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Prior to covid, I typically only went to AMC as I was an AMC stubs member. Occasionally I would go to regal. So when presented with the opportunity to go to Alamo in a smaller private showing I gladly accepted. The screen, acoustics and seats at Alamo were not on par with AMCs and regals. Thats to be expected somewhat because of who those two are, but even my media room delivers better on those three as well. Where Alamo excelled and why I give them 4 stars is that their service and food were so impressive. The regal theaters I visit still have traditional concession stand but with better food options, while the AMC I frequent is the server style. On more than one occasion AMC has ruined the experience with poor/slow/no service and with horrible server staff. The Alamo server was perfect. The gentleman was fast, clear and pleasant. He added to the experience and the team delivering was just as good. Food arrived quickly and hot. The taste of the food was excellent as well. My first time at a place in likely to not frequent because of location I like to sample as much as I can and ordered the popcorn, mozzarella sticks and some kind of meat pizza. All were delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered a coke and some kind of rum punch as well. The coke was perfect (not too syrupy and excellent fizz). The punch was tasty buy forgettable. Overall this is a nice theater experience, but I would go alone just to watch a movie.

Really cool retro atmosphere at the Alamo. It takes you back to the time of walking into a video store as a child and marveling over all the options and genres of movies. Old movie posters everywhere from a time period when big name actors where not nearly as important as a riveting plot.Comfortable mechanical seating with lots of space. The food was mediocre, but then who really expects to get anything better than typical bar food when you go to a movie? All in all, I enjoyed the experience and look forward to going back again. More than anything, I look forward to stepping back in time for some 70’s and 80’s classic grindhouse movies at the Alamo.

Imagine combining Specs Music, Blockbuster, and Hot Topic/ Spencers with a movie theater. But wait, theres more. Once in the theater, picture reclining seats with a short tray on one side (like in grade school) with a dim light under the tray. Now add a good quality restaurant food and service, a few cocktails, wine, and beer. Yes, there are great gluten-free options. And then let the movie play. In our case, the movie was about 3 hours long. We had plenty of time to appreciate the accommodations. On our way in and out of the movie, I enjoyed the feeling of nostalgia that the movie posters, VHS, DVD, furniture, and other classic movie relics created. I will surely visit again.

I didnt think I could love Alamo Drafthouse any more than I already did, but they totally hit it out of the park with their curbside service this week. My husband and I celebrated a big anniversary last week. When I asked him where hed want to go if the pandemic vanished and he could go anywhere, he said hed want to go to Alamo. I decided to surprise him by trying to recreate the Alamo experience at home. I mentioned my plan when I put in my takeout order, and the amazing staff at Alamo sent me home with all kinds of Alamo accessories, including a sign I was able to hang on the wall at home! My husband was amazed and the food was as awesome as ever. Seriously yall, that queso. And that buffalo cauliflower. SO. GOOD. If you havent done curbside with them yet, you are missing out!

Took our entire office staff here for a mini day out. When you drive up you know you’re getting into a unique experience from the exterior of the building. The lobby is even more fun even just as a pre/post show hang out! The no talking policy was a bit daunting to me at first I was very intimidated, but looking back it was probably the best movie theatre experience and I don’t want to go anywhere else to see a movie anymore! The picture and sound quality was also very good. The ginger ale was delicious.

The lobby has a gift shop with movie merchandise and a collection of old and vintage video tapes I believe you can rent out. The staff was phenomenal. One lady found my group of friends taking pictures and offered to take pictures of us together. The directions in the actual theater were clear and well explained. I ordered a pizza with roasted brussel sprouts and one of their milkshakes and was not at all disappointed. I was so full, I couldnt even finish. I love this place! Alamo Drafthouse is my favorite movie theater by a huge margin! The theaters are all new and in great shape. The seats are comfortable. The screens are big and bright. You can tell that they love movies and are trying to make the moviegoing experiences as much fun as possible. You should try to get there a 1/2 hour before your movie time, thats when they start seating. You can order food then, too. They show special video with background information related to the movie or film maker related to the movie youre there to see before the movie starts. I saw a great retrospective on Wes Anderson that enhanced my enjoyment of the movie I was there to see, for instance. They did a quick recap of the Marvel movies before Infinity War that was fun and interesting. Its a fun place to just spend some time, too. They have a great selection of beer and really good food. I highly recommend the fried pickles! There is also a video rental store, and records for sale, and other merchandise to look over.Alamo Drafthouse is amazing! I couldnt be happier that its here. Alamos venue and staff are great. The Video Vortex bar and seating area welcomes patrons when you enter. Here you can enjoy food and drink, shop merchandise, or browse through the thousands of free video rentals either before a show or just as a hangout spot.Once its time to see a show, the spacious and clean theaters are all reserved seating with leather recliners and table service. Youll notice right away that this isnt your typical theater chain. The pre-shows before the film are typically specific to the film being attended and contain no ads, except for Alamo related promotions.Alamos strict no talking and no phone use policy during films makes Alamo THE place to go to see films. Its also one of the only places in Raleigh to see new limited-release movies as well as nostalgia screenings of beloved films. The one minor inconvenience to visiting the venue can be parking. When the theater is busy, it can occasionally be challenging to locate parking in the main lot, but overflow parking in the rear and adjacent lots is available. On the upside, all parking is free and is just a quick walk from the entrance.

One before the movie while waiting for friends, one during the movie and then one after. We sampled parmesan popcorn, baked pretzel, chicken strips and jerk chicken sandwich. Everything was good and quickly delivered. The theater itself is fun! There is a large seating area and outdoor seating. A full bar. Draft beer. Wine. Full menu. They have free movie rentals with old school and vintage movies. Board games and other games like Exploding Kittens. Comic books. Vinyl records and a player. Souvenir gifts and collectibles. There were people sitting at tables with laptops so I am guessing they have wifi.A great date night spot. Good for small groups. Matinees and special movies for kids and families. Check their website for events and movie lists. No kids under 6 after 6 PM I think website says. Be sure and check. We had a good time. It was worth the 30 minute drive from Wake Forest. I will say Id recommend wearing clothes you dont mind getting food on if youre a messy eater. The atmosphere is great, I love the lobby you can borrow old VHS tapes if thats your thing. The staff are friendly, attentive and kind. The theaters are cleaned very thoroughly after each showing. It also has a pretty big parking lot too so I dont think that would be an issue either. My only gripe which is nothing toward the venue or staff is that people use their cellphone flashlight to look at the menu (please dont) and holy heck is that distracting. Ive been to two special presentations there and highly recommended it for events.

If youre looking for a kitsch experience, this is the theater for you! There is a VHS wall and plenty of merchandise to remind you of your childhood. There is a combination of modern movies mixed with nostalgic movies which are released based on the season. For example, I think they played the Adams Family for Halloween this year. They serve beer and food before and (discreetly) durning the movies. Buy your tickets on advance. They go quick, because its such a fun experience.

Fun, funky, and well run. The food and beer selection was fantastic.

The best Dinner and a show around. First run movies with first rate cuisine. The Royale with Cheese is perfect for dinner, then I order some fresh baked cookies and French press coffee for dessert. The staff is also exceptional. They never give me enough cream, but if I put my card up and ask for more, theyre always quick to get me whatever I want. I rarely even think of going to any other theatre.

The Alamo is a great place for movie movers. They have current releases and special nights where they show classics. The menu is good, even if a bit pricey at times. They have a VHS loaner library and a full bar if you want to grab a beer and hang out before or after your show. I highly recommend checking out one of their viewing parties, theyre a great time.
