On our way over the bridge we caught the beautiful spectacle of the The Portland Christmas Ship Parade!*************The Marquam Bridge is the transit route for I-5, taking you over the Willamette River connecting East and West Portland.It’s no wonder that it’s Oregon’s busiest bridge since it carries I-5 traffic.You almost always need a heads up if you’re planning on connecting with I-84 or just remaining on I-5.It is a massive concrete structure but sometimes if you can sneak a glimpse you may catch moments of beauty to the left or to the right.

One of the highest bridges in Portland. Ive been spending more time on it than any dance person should as Ive been working on the bridge. Super scary but, man what a view.

Its a beautiful viewed. But I was scared ****less driving across this in semi truck. The crazy turns 200 feet in the air with only a tiny concrete barrier. From the cab of my truck I could see all straight down, it was frightening.

Of the bridges Ive rated, this is best bridge!

Not recommended for biking or walking. You just cant keep up with the cars. Provides excellent elevation over the Willamette - youll be happy you didnt have to caulk your wagon and float it across.

Drive this high-strung rollercoaster stretch of i5 right through the middle of portland with a sudden diverge / merge at one end and a banked s-bend at the other: DRIVERS please FOCUS ON THE ROAD, do not sightsee!Emits tons of road noise, thanks to no screening, and thanks to big diesels having to j-brake.Fremont bridge is a more graceful interstate bridgeNOT A SIGHTSEEING BRIDGE, beware distracted drivers

It makes me feel so small with its bulky strong appearence

Great bridge very sturdy. Doesnt jiggle like other bridges do. Only problem is the traffic headed to I-84 has some lane-merging problems on the bridge during rush hour.

As Mayor Vera Katzs once said, It’s like having the Berlin Wall dividing east and west, with all the subtle charm of the Daytona 500 smack dab in the middle of our city.

Grim and charmless crossing that has permanently marred the infrastructure and skyline of Portland. Has its moments of beauty but mostly a drag on traffic and the skyline.
