My son and I visited the Top of the Rock on a beautiful clear night. There are 3 different outdoor views and the best one is the last floor. Im a New Yorker and have skyline views from Brooklyn but nothing beats it from the Top of the Rock. Youll have 360 degree views of NYC. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Although it was really cold, it was so worth it. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there was less of a crowd and many social distant from each other and wore their masks. Upon entering, there are sections of readings of how Rockefeller started and built this incredible observatory. This is definitely a must see whether youre from NYC or a tourist. As of now, one free child 12 or under, per an adult paid ticket are free till December 31st, 2020. All you need to do is buy the adult ticket and go with a child 12 or under. You do not need to do anything else when purchasing your ticket.

After COVID-19 pendemic, New York City finally getting back to be shining again. For now is good time for New York residents to enjoy this beautiful city.Best city view in the world. Just like a shining but stronger forever diamond, never sleep and never feel tired to explore more in this incredible big city.Highly recommend to buy the ticket for the sunset, and remember to choose a sunny day to visit, you won’t regret!Just couldn’t stop taking pictures when you’re there. This is why I really want to share a lot of pictures, but better to see by yourself! And also this is the really good location and best view to see midtown to downtown, and midtown to uptown in Manhattan.

Surprised my mom with a visit to Top of The Rock and she loved every second of it. First off, it wasnt crowded at all and we really got to enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of the view. In addition, THERE WAS THREE LEVELS! We just kept going higher and higher and finally the last level didnt have a glass barrier which was great for pictures. Truly a cool and breathtaking experience.

Better than the Empire State Building by far. Finding the entrance to the attraction took us a short minute (hint, look for the red carpet outside the building). The staff were the most courteous we have encountered in NYC, but the process of getting to the observation deck is not straight forward. You will wait in three different lines, ride 2 elevators and 1 escalator. The observation deck is surrounded in glass panels but is clean and provides an excellent view of the vista without looking through a chain-link fence. There’s lots of open space to walk around, and a short staircase leads to a higher level of viewing. I recommend going at night as the city lights are far more stunning than a daytime view.

This is the best place to see the NYC skyline BY FAR. The people here are always incredibly nice and helpful. I typically go a little before sunset and they let me stay for as long as I want. Don’t waste your time going to the Empire State Building or the World Trade Center because remember, you want to see these buildings in your view, not go on top of it. You can schedule your tickets beforehand and avoid a line that usually isn’t too bad. Also, this is the best place to get pictures with no glare because there isn’t a thick glass window like the other observatories have in front of them. There’s 3 levels to this place.

Incredible views! I got lucky because there was a special deal going on for students that reduced the price of tickets to $10. With that said, Top of The Rock is 100% worth the $48 tickets - it’s the best view in the city. There are multiple observation decks, but my favorite is the upper one because it provides panoramic views of the city. It’s cool to look at NYC from above because you can see the things that you like to do.I also really enjoyed that they provided a sort of “museum” space at the mezzanine level that explained the history of the Rockefeller center as well as it’s funding. It allowed me to spend a lot more time there which made the ticket even more worth it. I also enjoy architecture and construction so this exhibit was perfect for me.I really want to go back at sunset so I can see the city at its best. Again, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Great observation spot. It represents a nice view of the Central Park and Midtown. It’s also a great spot for taking pictures of the Empire State Building. I especially like that they have a clear glass with some gaps for the camera instead of metal frames and you can take amazing pictures not obscured by glass or metal like at other observation decks. I highly recommend this spot if you already did the other observations decks.

Absolutely loved this place! Staff was extremely nice. My group had already bought the tickets so we didnt have to wait in any line. The elevator ride was quick. The 360 views dont disappoint, any time of day, although the decks do get exposed to the elements, so be sure to prepare for the weather if youre planning a visit. And if in doubt, you can call ahead and ask for conditions at the top. Theyre very candid about what to expect. Theres a small gift shop and restrooms on premises. The admission rates are about the same as other observation decks (theyre not cheap). If I could rank these places, Top of the Rock would be number 2 for me, behind One World Trade. I like that you can see all the iconic midtown buildings from here. Plus, theres so much more to do and see within the vicinity.

This is my FAVORITE observation deck in all of NYC. I tell all my friends, families, anyone visiting NYC that this is the best place to check out NYC from above. The other places don’t give you a great view, amazing customer service, and different observation platforms all in one price. In NYC, that’s a bargain! Loved every minute of it. It was fast to get in, get our tickets, and head to the top. Every employee were so polite and helpful, smiles on their faces. The view was absolutely breathtaking, I stayed up there for almost 3 hours because I was so captivated. My best advice is to either go early at sunrise or an hour before sunset on a clear day to get the city in both day and night. This is a experience you won’t forget. This should be a must for New Yorkers and tourists alike!

We had the dilemma of whether to visit Top of the Rock or The Empire State. Many New Yorkers recommended Top of the Rock as it is cheaper, there are less queues, there are better views (especially of Central Park) and you can actually look at the Empire State from the Top of the Rock. We went early in the morning and faced very little queues. Would love to visit again at sunset.

What an amazing experience! We decided to book Top of the Rock instead of trying to get into Times Square on New Years Eve. We went on New Years Day. It was pretty tame, despite being a hallmark day. The view was absolutely incredible. You could see all the way to the top of Central Park, all the way down the the Statue of Liberty. The height of the building made it seem like Central park was tiny. You could look down between the gaps of the building and it made the cars and people look comically small. We bought the VIP pass - which is definitely worth considering over the general pass. They dont treat VIP lightly. As soon as we let he doorman know we had a VIP pass, he moved us quickly past the crowded line and we were the first on the elevator. The elevator makes the 80-something story ride look like light work. We were up there for a good two hours, and we werent asked for our pass or bothered once, as the VIP pass enabled us to come and go as we pleased. Would recommend the experience.

Top of the Rock offers spectacular views of the NewYork city in all the directions. It especially offers very good views of the Central Park and on clear days, it is possible for you to have very good visibility to see far into the distance. This is a very good place to visit during the evenings/sunset times as the shadows from the skyscrapers create a very nice photography effect. We also visited on 4th of July and hence were able to get very good views of The Empire State building in red, blue and white colors.

This is my favorite of the New York observation decks! While the Empire State Building and One World each have their charm (and I recommend those too, if you have time), 30 Rock’s proximity to Central Park makes it the best view. I have been to Empire State Building 86th floor but I like it here better. This observation deck do not have thick glass windows unlike the others so I can mindfully enjoy the view better. I paid around $42 for the ticket and I think it is worth the price. There’s three levels you can go up to in this observation deck. The highest level 70th floor is the open air roof deck which has no glass enclosure so it is good to take pictures. When I visit today, there were not many people so I could maintain proper social distancing. If I visit NYC again , I will visit here again on the sunset time for more beautiful scenery!

Being able to walk around and really see the city from different heights is pretty cool. Go near sundown for a great view. The top of the rock gives a spectacular view of New York from three different observation levels. The two lower observation levels are very wide with nice places to sit and glass surrounding the edges allowing you to take great pictures of the city skyscape. The glass is always clean and so taking a photo through the glass does not distort the view or your photos. They have one more open area above the two lower areas where the TV antennas are for NBC. This view gives an unobstructed view of the skyscape allowing for some spectacular photos. Of course it is definitely worth purchasing your tickets in advance as VIP allowing you a time slot to show up and skipping the long lines.

The Empire State Building from there is a unique thing on a life time and towards the sunset is something unforgettable! My suggestion is to go there at least one hour before the sunset so you can enjoy the place with less crowd, then there are too many people and taking pictures is pretty difficult and 1.5h before the sunset the price is 10$ more on the 40$ dollars for the basic ticket. Beautiful sights over the skyline of New York City, especially if you want to feature the Empire State Building in your photographs like I did.The system they have for tickets works quite well. If you can purchase online I would recommend doing this as I only experienced queuing buying the ticket in the first place. When you purchase a ticket you’ll be given a specific entry time and you turn up 5 minutes before it. They’ll promptly guide you to the elevator which takes you to the top so not much queuing required for actual entry to the attraction.I personally opted for an entry time 30 minutes before sunset which worked out perfectly. I went to the top, took a load of photographs in the day light. Then again during sunset, which are some of my favourite. Then again after the sun had set took some more of the city come to life at night under darkness with everything illuminated. So before you buy tickets, quickly google the time the sun is setting in NYC and grab tickets for entry 30/45 minutes before that to allow all the time you need! All in all, a little pricey, but well worth the money for such iconic, staple photographs of your trip.

My sister and I loved this experience. The elevator ride is fun and theres a nice feeling of mounting excitement as you ascend. Its well worth it for some really heady city views, but it feels safe up there. The viewing areas are not cramped, you can photograph the scenery between the plate glass for some epic eagle-eye views, and we enjoyed these views at leisure, we didnt feel at all rushed.
