My first time here, and I really like it. The place isnt that big, but its nice. I can defiantly come back and enjoy just sitting under a tree. They do have some nice areas, but Id really like to come in the fall when all the colors come out.Oh, and I missed the Cherry Blossom Festival...disappointed.
Spent many a Sunday--post-service--hangin with people who I simply (and wildly) adore in the Secret Garden (Is it really a secret? OK, then I wont tell....shhhhhhhhhhh), whining away the afternoon with discussions of this and that...from the goofy and obscure to the esoteric and off-the-chart. Spaces like this in NYC are simply a treasure!!!
What a peaceful place to sit and visit. There are benches throughout and plenty of tall bushes and trees that help you to feel very tucked away which is nice. If I lived or worked in this neighborhood I would enjoy eating my lunch here and enjoying the peace and quiet. There is a sign saying no talking on cell phones. Most people seem to respect that. The quiet is so calming. It would be a shame to have to listen to someones phone call.
The greatest moment of my life happened in this garden. I got engaged.
Beautiful little garden that’s open to the public.
Open to the public. They take donations to support the upkeep - its well worth it, its beautiful!
