The One World Trade Center is really an amazing architectural marvel. It is an iconic structure and the area surrounding it really dwarfs in comparison. The view from the top is spectacular and a must visit if you are ever in New York. Hopefully once the COVID19 ends we can all plan a trip to NY and soak in the Big Apple !

The architecture is mind-blowing, the whole building is made of mirror glass. While going up with the elevator there is a nice presentation about the history of the building. At the top you get to see a breathtaking scenery of the whole city and further. They have a lovely gift shop as well. Before entering the building I saw the memorial fron one of the Twins building which was nice to see. The ticket price is affordable and definitely would recommend to visit while in NYC.

Astonishing. Not only for what it represents, but also for its impressive engineering and architecture. At the observatory deck views are jaw dropping. The skyline is way below and even air traffic is below the line of site. Also, the show at the elevator in the way up is creative and adds an extra experience to the ride.

Not only is this striking and majestic building a symbol of American strength, grit, and perseverance - this place has reverently captured the heart of NYC, immortalized what stood before it, and has paid homage to those many innocent lives lost before. The elevator is one of the most interesting deliveries of info and very creative! The view, that is where the icing is delivered on this cake. Youll feel as if you are on top of the world, taking in a perspective of the greatest city on earth, and many can share their wealth of knowledge and give some great stories and impart memories that you can cherish with them. Well worth the price of admission, I would recommend this be a Must See for anyone traveling into the city for a visit.

The elevators are very fast and if you’re going up you will see an animation of New York and how it developed to a Metropolis. After that you can walk around and see the amazing view of the whole New York and New Jersey. You will also have a little souvenir shops, which are little bit expensive. If you will buy VIP ticket you will get a tablet which will be giving information of the One World Trade Center and other famous/historical buildings. I highly recommend this place. :)

One World Trade Center (also known as One World Trade, One WTC, or Freedom Tower)[note 1] is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. One WTC is the tallest building in the United States, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, and the seventh-tallest in the world. The supertall structure has the same name as the North Tower of the original World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The new skyscraper stands on the northwest corner of the 16-acre (6.5 ha) World Trade Center site, on the site of the original 6 World Trade Center. The building is bounded by West Street to the west, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, and Washington Street to the east. The buildings architect is David Childs, whose firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) also designed the Burj Khalifa and the Willis Tower. The construction of below-ground utility relocations, footings, and foundations for the new building began on April 27, 2006. One World Trade Center became the tallest structure in New York City on April 30, 2012, when it surpassed the height of the Empire State Building. The towers steel structure was topped out on August 30, 2012. On May 10, 2013, the final component of the skyscrapers spire was installed, making the building, including its spire, reach a total height of 1,776 feet (541 m). Its height in feet is a deliberate reference to the year when the United States Declaration of Independence was signed. The building opened on November 3, 2014;[14] the One World Observatory opened on May 29, 2015.[15]On March 26, 2009, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) confirmed that the building would be officially known by its legal name of One World Trade Center, rather than its colloquial name of Freedom Tower.[16][17] The building is 104 standard floors high, but the tower has only 94 actual stories. The new World Trade Center complex will eventually include five high-rise office buildings built along Greenwich Street, as well as the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, located just south of One World Trade Center where the original Twin Towers stood. The construction of the new building is part of an effort to memorialize and rebuild following the destruction of the original World Trade Center complex.

It’s worth a visit to get a fine view of the whole city of NY, not only of Manhattan but also of the other counties. Me and my grandmother visited the WTC site in November 2014. Unfortunately for us we were about 4 months too early before the opening of WTC tower one. It appeared finished when standing on the ground by the shimmering memorial pools of the original towers. However at this point in time was unopen to the public. The tower itself was impressive, a giant prism of shimmering glass in the sun. A truly wonderful sight to see in person

The towers were designed as framed tube structures, giving tenants open floor plans, unobstructed by columns or walls. The framed tube design was introduced by Bangladeshi-American structural engineer Fazlur Rahman Khan in the 1960s. The design was accomplished by using many closely spaced perimeter columns, providing much of the structures strength, with the gravity load shared with the core columns. The elevator system, which made use of sky lobbies and a system of express and local elevators, allowed substantial floor space to be used for office purposes by making the structural core smaller. The design and construction of the towers involved many other innovative techniques, such as wind tunnel experiments and the slurry wall for digging the foundation. Yamasaki also incorporated elements of Islamic architecture in the buildings design, having previously designed Saudi Arabias Dhahran International Airport with the Saudi Binladin Group.

This remarkable tower is officially named One World Trade Center.Locals to NOT call it this.Locals call it Freedom Tower and thats the way I will always think of it.If you have problems with heights (like my bride) you may want to pre-medicate well in advance of stepping into the elevator. Its a very fast trip up 100+ floors and a very clever elevator experience. All the walls are digital displays so going up you experience bedrock and then what you would see (over time) on the way up.The observation floor is an amazing view. My only criticism is that there is a massive display blocking the north view of the island. You have an unobstructed view across the river. But the Manhattan view is obstructed.I would change this. I do not need an unobstructed view of New Jersey...That being said...It is a powerful experience to be up there and the memorial installation for ground zero will be an emotional experience you will never forget. If youve never been, I highly recommend you make time for this. You have to book your visit MONTHS in advance so plan accordingly to reserve a slot.
