Very helpful and kind staff/clerks in 141B, 311 and 160. They’re always professional and a pleasure to work with. I make regular trips to the court and always look forward to my time there. You know they’re good when you look forward to court!

If youre coming here to postpone jury duty, the public doors open at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Youll likely have to wait in line and go through security, but after you get through, go straight back to room 139 to talk to someone about postponing. I wasnt able to get through to anyone by phone or email prior to this, so this is the best way to get the job done. I believe you can go any day before your summons!

Seasons Greetings Happy ️ Holidays & A Happy New Year 20. ️ The US Passport Acceptance Agency located in the New York County Supreme Court Building at 60 Center Street is in Room 160.The New York County Supreme Court Building is registered as a Landmark from the Neoclassical era.It is very impressive on the outside as it is on the inside. The US Passport Acceptance Agency is only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 2 pm.They do accept passport renewals at this location, but it seemed to me that it is on a case to case determination from my observations when I was there 07/09/2019.So either check with their website or by telephone before heading down there with your specific needs.

Very rude staff in the room 141B where you can pick up your divorce papers. I just went there today - Friday, and the lady from the office slammed the door in my face saying the it’s closed. I was about to walk in at 4.45 - but she started closing the door and slammed it in my face saying that cashier is closed even though there were 3 people there. Good says this business works till 5pm. Please adjust accordingly.I tried to ask till what time thy work on Friday -But was ignored. The security guys at the building though are very nice, friends and helpful

I had the experience of dealing with Mary Bueno today, the Judges Secretary to Honorable Murphy. This woman frightened me. She became unhinged when she received an adjournment request submitted by an attorney. She called our office yelling at our receptionist and I, throwing her title around as if that would somehow put a Band-Aid on the fact that she was a completely unstable individual. How can you employ a person like that at the New York Supreme Court? Are there no background checks?

I cant believe so many film and television series have used the backdrop of the New York County Courthouse. From The Godfather to Wall Street. From Law and Order to Cagney and Lacey. The list goes on and on. The building in real life looks amazing. It resembles a temple and was built in a classical Roman style. If you like film and tv series and also architecture, you must stop by and admire this land mark building. But dont forget, its still a fully functional court.

If you live in Manhattan, you likely have to pay a visit to this New York Count Supreme Court location periodically for jury duty, to delay jury duty, etc.jury selection for civil and criminal cases are done here. your jury summons will tell you where to go to serve. the process is pretty streamlined. go through security, head to the jury selection area which is on the third or fourth floor, follow some instructions, fill out some paperwork, and wait to be selected or dismissed. the toughest part is waiting bc youll likely be there one to three days to see whether youre picked for a case or not. there is WiFi and outlets in the jury waiting areas. there is a small food vendor from morning to early afternoon who sells coffee, breakfast eats (like croissants, etc), chips, soft drinks, etc.tip: bring a book--or laptop or tablet. youll have time to kill.you get breaks while waiting and like 1 1/2 for lunch.theres plenty of places to eat for lunch etc. from fast food to sit down--within a few blocks.the exterior of the building has cool classic architecture if you appreciate that sorta thing and theres plenty to snap pics of....the interior of the Supreme Court building is pretty cool--but you cant take pics of the jury duty rooms or courts.the staff, here, are very friendly and keep things efficient. they have a great sense of humor and try to keep things light bc they know jury duty is not the most fun things to do. overall, if you have to serve or delay your service, the folks here make it pretty straightforward.drops mic cuz Im in the peoples court

Really nice and old looking court rooms when you walk in to this place you get the feeling of an old courthouse and you can understand what it meant to be facing judgment, it kind of gives you a reawakening call to think about when we will be judged after 120, just dont bring along a lot of stuff because you have to go through security and empty all your pockets

Went to room 139 to postpone jury service on a Thursday morning. Arrived at 0810. Two people ahead of me in line for security. By 0830 when security opened there were around 25 people in line. Room 139 office opened at 0845. Was second in line. Out by 0850. Transaction took 15 seconds (fill out back of jury summons before you get there). When I left the outside security line stretched down the stairs to the street and had around 100 to 125 people in it.

“The true administration of justice is the firmest pillar of good government.” - As seen on the masthead of The New York Supreme Courthouse at 60 Centre Street, New York. The building is a classical Roman-style architecture and considered a landmark in downtown New York. For me, I’m interested in the grand building for its role in popular culture as location for many memorable scenes in movies such as Wall Street. This feels just like a scene taken straight out of an episode of Law & Order.

Horrible court house. If you go during peak times, there are only 3 or 4 elevators, which are working properly. It will take an hour to get upstairs to the courtrooms. There are a lot of courtrooms. It is a very busy place. One could wait 35 minutes just to get into the buildings. The lines are long. The staff is slow and not very friendly.

Now this is what Jury Duty should be like! One day. And in less than 4 hours and we were released. For the next 6 years. Ha!Unlike most courts, there was next to no line at the security check point. Beautiful. The woman who runs the jury selection in all the courts was there and gave us extremely detailed information as to what to expect and what to do in any eventuality. Completely welcome but totally unnecessary since we werent there but for 3 hours. If you do manage to serve, bring cash. Everything in the vicinity is cash-only, from the coffee cart outside to the cafeteria inside. If you sit along the wall by the windows, there are plenty of electrical plugs so you can do like many did... bring your big ol laptop with you. Just dont use earphones because the court personnel need your complete attention, because they will be making important announcements over the PA system and calling names throughout the morning. It hasnt even been a month and Ive already received the $40 check for my days service. Not too shabby for a couple of hours of civic duty. Not shabby at all.Oh and you have to sneak photos of the beautiful rotunda. For some reason photography is not allowed and the guard yelled a some people. As you can see, Im a rule breaker.Breakin the law! Breakin the law!
