The atmosphere was great. The children all played together no matter what their race. And the parents all interacted together This was our Monday trip during my 6 week summer program.

One day last summer, we scouted out a new park and found Imagination Playground. We had such a great time with the kids here, that we had our cousins meet us at the same park the following summer. We came in from Long Island while they, from NJ. We took the NYC ferry to Wall St and walked a mere 2 blocks to the park. With sprinklers and sand for the kids, what more do you need to keep all happy. Every age can find some way to enjoy this cute park in the middle of the hustle & bustle of NYC. Yes, there are even bathrooms on the premises. Can’t wait to be back.

A must stop when in the area. If you happen to visit the Intrepid make sure to stop by. Great playground for little ones. If you come by during the summer bring a change of clothes and let the kids run in the water area. It has a bathroom that is generally in working condition.

Fantastic space to let children of varying ages play. My 15-month-old loved it. The blue, foam building pieces were a hit, as was the sand. They had a restroom, but we didnt use it.

I used to love this playground but now it’s just a regular playground with sand and water sprinklers. What happened to the blue giant foams where kids construct these abstract pieces and put together something from their imagination. This is no longer the imagination playground until the foams are brought back

Good place for kids but there is no trees or good place to seat under shade. If it’s too hot outside, you will be cooked here:)

This is a very cool, very hip, very modern looking park located in downtown Manhattan in the neighborhood I would assume is called the financial district, which is right by Cortlandt street which is right close by to the 9-11 memorial and world trade centers and memeorials. Also located fairly close to the millennium Hilton chain of hotels over there by Dey St. It closes at 5pm and it open to the public, free of charge, untill that time which again is 5pm

Not much to do here. The imagination idea is let down by the fact that most of this park is a big open space. The stuff that is there is also very repetitive. Feels like some didactic thought experiment in how kids should want to play that ends up being quite dull. Try Domino park of you want to see an experiment that works..........

Overrated sand pit and water fountain area with a few benches. This may sound crude but thats all there is to this place. Its okay for 2 year Olds but folks like our 8 year old got bored quick. Not recommended for non locals.

Great concept, but small, and the staff wouldnt let the kids use their imagination and have fun. The staff member kept telling the children not to put the blocks in the water as people might slip, to move their buildings as it might block a walking path, and not to climb as there might be an accident. I understand the need for safety, but a park is for exploration, and if it needs warnings for all of the obvious fun things to do, its just poorly designed.

Avoid this playground. The man who works there has harassed parents every time weve visited. He goes WAY beyond normal park rules, and Ive seen him yell at parents for simply touching the foam blocks while playing with their own children. Weve seen him yell rules left and right, blow his whistle needlessly. It gets to the point where you feel harassed and uncomfortable while youre simply trying to play with your child. All he does is walk around and yell at people. Weve been there 3 times and every time this employee has yelled at us or another parent. He should be fired.
