This place is the best kept off-off-Broadway secret. Not one but FOUR theater spaces. Plenty of materials, tools, lights, ladders, and an attentive staff. Highly recommended for all performers!

I went to see the Christmas Carol play with my family. We really enjoyed ourselves the actors are great. Definitely will come to see more plays here again. This is a great place to come by yourself or with a crew. Show was for all ages. Theatre is located in the Lower East side surrounded by restaurants and small shops. Easy to get to by train bus or car. Street parking is limited.

I saw a play there months ago called Subway Shooting or something like that and it was unforgettable. A truly amazing performance by the entire cast. It was musical and animated. The writer, whose name I cant recall, must have a truly incredible imagination.

Such a lovely, lovely hospitable life--we love love love it! Politics, sure--absolutely on what we here in Downtown NYC see as the open-armed, loving, welcoming-to-all way that has allowed us as a family (mixed, immigrant, questions of orientation, etc) to feel like we belong and are happily accepted and wanted in our community, our every day life---awesome to have neighbors like these!!!

Saw some shows there, during the Del Close (improv) Festival, in June. Its a really cool venue. Unfortunately cool only refers to the ambience. Not the internal temperature. There was NO air conditioning...and the temperatures outside were in the low nineties. We saw shows in two of their four Black Box theatre spaces. It felt like we were in a terrarium! It was hot, humid, and no air moved. We were sweating profusely...and we were just sitting and watching. I cant imagine how awful it must have been for the actors. If they rectify the climate control issues, well likely go back.

Interesting little performance space. There are a few different theatre spaces in the building of varying sizes. The seats are decent quality, though in the smaller black-box-ish space I dont think I could sit for more than an hour.Bathrooms are limited, so prepare for a wait. It is low staffed, so sometimes there arent paper towels stocked.I used this space as part of a festival, so most of the problems I had were with that staff of that rather than the actual building. All the building people seem cheery enough.

Classic, Community-Oriented Off-Off Broadway theater. Low-budget, but high talent productions and casts. Multiple small theaters afford an intimate dramatic experience, and you can bring your drinks to your seats.

I was here for the poetry and performance of the Lower East Side Festival. Loved it, especially loved the poetry reading by my bf Mitch Corber. Friday, June 1, 2018, we came to see Cyberbabies which is in pre-production. We were not disappointed. I saw The Book of Mormon and this is highly comparable. Its that good.

This is a cool little venue. I watched The Blind Truth - a biographical two-man show. Musician Vinny St. Martin tells about growing up in NYC, going blind at an early age and discovering the world, people and music around him in a new way. It was funny and sad. He talked and sang. I sat a few feet away from him and was totally enhanced through the whole performance.

I absolutely love this place. Some of the best years of my life were spent here from the ages of 10-16 as a part of their amazing street theater group where we performed live shows every weekend throughout all of NYC especially some of the poorer regions of the city. Crystal Feild and the late George Bartenieff started and ran an incredible space. Always aiming to help kids like myself from rough parts of Brooklyn and all over NY find something they could believe in. This place shaped my life and I am glad it still continues to thrive. Please support it in any way you can. I love TNC!
