We watched Moulin Rouge here and the theater is gorgeous. Seats were comfortable as well. We were in fifth row side Orchestra seats and quite enjoyed the show. The stage was well set and everyone enjoyed the show. Location is a busy spot so keep extra time for commuting.

Beautiful theatre. The leg room was a bit more generous than a few of the other musical houses I patronized recently. The sets for Moulin Rouge were amazing and the show was a visual party.

This is my second Broadway show and it was fantastic. First off lets begin with parking if you need parking theni suggest finding a parking lot and park it in there because your car can be towed. Secondly if you purchased thr tickets online have the barcode ready. Thirdly try not to spend too much on food inside because its extremely expensive. Inside the theater is spectacular thr chairs are comfortable but not much leg rokm space. As far as the moulin rouge show goes it was great however I didnt get much of the original songs in the show. Most songs where more americanized. I still enjoyed the show however I expected more of a authentic show rather than modernized. I still did enjoy the show. My total for 2 tickets was $245 and parking cost me $24...

I went to see MOULIN ROUGE here this afternoon. Also saw KINKY BOOTS here before it closed. Beautiful Theater! And I love how the whole left wall of the orchestra are doors that open to the street, allowing for an easy exit.

This theatre is absolutely beautiful. The ceilings and moldings are just amazing to look at with its artwork and design. The fact that this theatre is so old, along with the many others in NY, I find it extremely cozy, artsy and historical. The seats are comfortable but there is truly very little leg room and very little space for your coat (if its winter) but there is coat check available. All of the old theaters here in NY are pretty much the same, but I dont mind. We came here to see Kinky Boots which was nothing short of amazing. Of course, I will be returning.

Excellent venue. Saw Moulin Rouge here on Valentines night and it was breathtaking. Tickets cost $99 each as we booked last minute but was still cheaper than booking online. Head to the venue and book for cheapest tickets. Great experience.

Another beautiful theatre - I definitely recommend it if you like the show playing there. Clearly, if you dont want to see the show, you cant really visit the theatre just to see inside.

What a great show and job this theater did with Moulin Rouge. As usual, sits are as uncomfortable as brodway theater can be, and the bathroom brake is simply a nightmare. The first part of the show had some audio issues which were resolved after the intermission. The production was great, vocals could be better but overall, we had a great show

Such a gorgeous divine theater. I could feel the history and attention to it’s exciting atmosphere from the inviting Broadway lights of the front entrance to the posh entry and seating areas. The perfect place to see a Broadway play and Moulin Rouge - The Musical was amazing.

Classic theatre where Moulin Rogue currently resides and Kinky Boots played here too located in the heart of broadway.

Two stars because the theater itself is very nice. It has a swanky marble staircase, cool drawings by Hirschfeld lining the hallways and huge bathrooms. Unfortunately they had us lined up around the block almost to 8th and 44th until about 15 minutes before the show started.As for Moulin Rouge!.. I love theater and this was by far the most disappointing show Ive seen in a long time. The set is pretty cool (although if sit anywhere in the mezzanine you cant see the front of the catwalk at all) and the dancers are all gorgeous. Beyond that, though, there is really nothing here. Just endless medleys that have no melodic build up or resolution and paper thin characters that you could care less about. Immediately after the climax of the show when Saltine (the female lead) died (which should be sad) the cast started singing Hey, Ya! while dancing around in tutus and dousing the audience with confetti and glitter on our way out the door.

One of the beautiful theatres of Broadway. At the moment the interior has been transformed into the Moulin Rouge; red themed & crystal chandeliers. Look up and notice the molding and ceilings. There is even a stain glass ceiling piece in the mens room (becomes gender neutral half way through intermission).

Always a beautiful theatre, it is had a stunning makeover for Moulin Rouge. Thats a show you dont want to miss.

I have to tip my hat off to Al Hirschfeld Theatre and how it was ran. When I went to go to see Moulin Rouge it was pouring rain and I didnt have an umbrella and was dreading getting soaked in the line to enter the theatre. The staff was getting everyone in so quickly there was no wait.Also, they saw i didnt have an umbrella and told me skip the line and come in which was so nice. Security was so fast and efficient.During intermission there is only one restroom for men upstairs. The line was long but went so quickly. I waited less than 5 minutes, the restrooms are pretty big for Broadway theatres. I also appreciate they have two drinking fountains with mini-cups you can get free water if needed. Best ran theatre in NYC. Good job guys. Staff was very nice.

But boy they have done a decent job in preserving and maintaining this treasure.- great sound system- Moulin Rouge is the best musical ever on broadway given the set design, music and collective performances- seating is great both in the orchestra and upper balcony- overall great facilitiesA must visit. Size always doesn’t matter!!

Won lottery tickets to watch Moulin Rougue! Our seats were at Row K with partial view. We could not really see what was happening on the left side of the stage but still loved the show! Most of the songs were contemporary pop songs but the singers/actors more than made up for the lack of originality!

This was a marvelous musical, the music of the times gave memories and the acting was extraordinary, such a beautiful theater, a memorable afternoon!

Wonderful experience. The theatre was clean and well kept. The seating was a tad cramped. However, there were no bad seats. There was a clear view of the stage from all angles.

At first I was pleased that the theater was so small. I thought I had the best view. But once the person in front of me showed up, I couldnt see at all. The seats are not staggered, so I had to keep bobbing from side to side to see anything at all. My center seat was horrible. Really ruined the experience.

OMG, Moulin Rouge is completely worth seeing. The songs are reinterpreted using our contemporary hits, just as the movie did for the songs back in the day. And the actors pre-show performance is completely arresting.

This is a great little theatre. Like most of the theatres on Broadway, you can expect a similar venue. We saw Moulin Rouge here. This was one of the most athletic performances weve seen on Broadway. Not only are the dance numbers demanding but there is so much physicality from all of the actors also. Extremely entertaining.

Very well kept Theatre! Kinky Boots is a spectacular performance and well worth the visit. Great acting by the entire cast! We sat very close to the front and were able to enjoy the Orchestra pit as well.

We went to see Kinky Boots, it was amazing. Easy to get to seats, lots of ushers everywhere. We sat at the mezzanine right and the view was good. Regular bottle of water was $5, so try to plan ahead. If you are a bit taller or wider, the seats may be a bit uncomfortable, but worth it for an amazing show!

Very comfortable and pretty theatre. Its not too big and I dont think theres a bad seat in the building. Moulin Rouge was playing when I visited and it was a great show.

Great experience! Always love the theater. The lights, costumes, music, the acting, its wonderful. The theater is older but nice. Had to climb the stairs to the second floor, little difficult for me using a cane, but I did it. The show was absolutely fabulous!!! Go, go, you wont regret it!!

Not great seating for tall or big bottomed people. My knees hit the seat in front of me. Luckily I had the seat next to me to spread out to or the performance would have been pretty miserable. The theatre is pretty and has inclusive bathrooms!

Lovely theater, friendly staff and not a bad seat in the house!

I attended during a preview for Moulin Rouge and the theatre has been transformed for the show. There are subtle things like the windmills in the crown molding and sconces that work with the the magic of the set design to truly transport you to Moulin Rouge. For accessibility, there are no steps up from the street or in the orchestra level. Though they did not bring my chair for the intermission, it was so crowded and buzzing it might have been for the better to avoid the crowds. Staff was friendly and very helpful (though the merch booth attendant was less so but understandable when dealing with the crowd).

Beautiful theatre, great show. My only suggestion is for the director actually. We had partial view seats, left orchestra. In the finale scene with Satine, most important scene!!! The ensemble enters from the house and then stands on the side platforms to watch Satine and Christian. Their bodies completely block our view of this pivotal moment!! I felt there was no benefit having the ensemble stand their when they blocked such an important thing for us to see. And Satine was as far down center as she could be and we still couldnt see her :/ see pic of view from our seats prior to the show starting. In the finale the entire platform was lined with actors with their backs to us.

Moulin Rouge is my favorite movie, so we were super excited to be able to fit this new musical into our 36 hour visit to New York City. Visually, it was awesome! With lots of lights, glitter and very extravagantly detailed props. The music was mostly just like the movie, but theyve added a ton of newer music. The newer music added to the story in a fun and often funny way. The singing was phenomenal and the dancing was outstanding! While they couldnt fill the shoes of Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, but honestly who could, the two leads were still amazing and they looked comfortable together. Get yourself tickets as soon as you can, as Im sure this musical is going to blow up! It is spectacular, spectacular!

Cozy and quaint. We saw Moulin Rouge and the theater did not disappoint. The only caveat to sitting in the orchestra section under the mezzanine is that the seats are placed directly in front of one another. Therefore, viewing the stage becomes an arduous task.

Narrowest seats ever. Great show (Moulin Rouge!) But if youre in the orchestra within the farthest 4 seats to the left or to the right, youre gonna miss some of the action...

This was an excellent Broadway theatre. My wife and I went to see Kinky Boots which was a phenomenal show. The theatre itself is a decent size, organized, well kept, and friendly/helpful staff. The one thing of note is the restroom situation, especially for females, use the restroom as soon as you get there (early), and during intermission, go as soon as it begins or youll be in the longest line youve ever seen.... Overall an excellent experience.

This theater was the perfect place for Kinky Boots and looks incredible as the home Moulin Rogue!

It is an intimate theater where honestly I cant think of a bad seat & the acoustics are great. The security is on point with ensuring people to enjoy the moment instead of taking pictures or videos.

We were lucky and got some Moulin Rouge tickets. This is the view from Center Mezzanine Row C. The staff is very professional and courteous. The theater is beautiful. Quite a few of the cast came out of the stage door and signed autographs for us. Great theater!

Are you kidding me! We came to see Moulin Rouge (Which was jaw-dropping amazing!) but seeing any show here would be outstanding (wish we hadnt missed Kinky Boots!)! The theatre has tons of charm, the staff were so sweet and helpful. Our seats were front row mezzanine - we could see everything - everything! We got an email a few days before the show about the VIP room - having heard about the bathroom lines we jumped on it. Glad we did the added experience was worth it. No lines for the bathroom or drinks and it was a cozy and interesting spot not far from our seats! LOVED every minute of being here!

This theater felt very intimate and cozy, but I did not feel the seats were too tight and there was good space for my legs. We saw the Moulin Rouge and OMG was it amazing. The show was beautiful and nice mash up of the movie version meets pitch perfect. The show felt perfectly placed for how beautiful and ornate the theater is. The lighting was beautiful. My seats were ORCH V 109 and I thought they were perfect, it is a smaller theater so I think any seats would have a good view. Highly recommend this theater and the show.

Saw Moulin Rouge there. Was our favorite play we saw in NY. Glad we made it. Was not really on our schedule, last minute decision. Seats were good but wish we would have gotten the orchestra seating towards the front for the extra money. Nice theatre. Not very big.

Hirschfeld is in excellent condition. Attended last two Kinky Boots performances. Layout is easy to navigate. Concession line moves quickly, coat check on main floor, every seat has great sightlines.

Moulin Rouge: If you liked the movie, youll love the Broadway adaptation. Fantastic set design, lighting, and costumes. The soundtrack has been updated for 2019 (Lady GaGa, etc), but the classics from the film are all still there. The actors who play the Duke and the MC stole the show.

Had great seats, but they arent very elevated from the seat in front of you. I had tall people in front of me and had to sit on my backpack, for a decent view. Also, the show is AMAZING!!!!!

Amazing venue, amazing show, the sets made it look it like it was 4 times bigger. Not sure how awesome it would be without a show playing there, but with a show playing there its highly recommended!

Saw Kinky Boots.. front row orchestra center at Al Hirschfeld..truly an amazing and highly entertaining production .. Ive never been in the front row but splurged for the kids and it was totally worth it! It was so cool to sit above the pit and next to the conductor. The kids stayed afterwards to meet the leads. The actors were as wonderful and gracious off stage as they were on set.

Always a great experience at the Hirschfeld. Staff is helpful, theatre is beautiful and shows are excellent.

I always prefer plays over musicals, however, the Moulin Rouge was phenomenal. How they transformed the Hirshfeld was bold, exciting and electric. The singing was wonderful and the virtually non-stop dancing was breath taking. Only negative, typical for most theaters, are the seats are tight but the show made me forget my discomfort. This is a must see! Would recommend sitting at least 5-6 rows back and arrive early to enjoy some pre-curtain antics.

Beautiful theatre built in 1924. As with most theaters in the district, they arent huge so there, literally isnt a bad seat in the house. Make sure you take time to look up, this is a wonderfully ornate theatre. This theatre has a wonderful history, written actors ranging from Basil Rathbone to David Radcliffe performing there.

Beautiful.I know that might say more about the play than about the theater, but I think last time we saw Book of Mormon there, so, the theater itself is a venue for numerous quality plays! The staff is very nice, the bathroom lines are long and take forever, of course, and the drinks are not cheap...but...that’s Broadway!

Loved the show and the building inside is nice except for having to go down almost three flights to find the womans bathroom and the seats dont really have leg room so thank goodness for the intermission.
