Great little theatre designed for intimate shows and equipped with modern convenience. Seats are narrow and small, little space between the rows for those over 5.7ft tall...but overall is lovely. Oh..and some chipped paint that may contain led ;) hope they will take care of soon.

Great theatre. Has changed through the years, much more colourful and kid friendly. Even has translators for sign language.

We came here to see the Pout Pout Fish, which our kids enjoyed. There were craft activities to do before the show, which they also enjoyed. I received multiple reminders that there would be before-show activities starting an hour before the show but when we got there the staff wouldnt let anyone in an hour before. Its unclear if this was a one off issue with being ready but there were lots of kids waiting to get in. The show was good but one actor kept having her mic fall off, which made it difficult to hear her. They offer booster seats, which is nice so younger kids dont have to sit on a lap.

We went to see Mr. Poppers Penguins and it was fantastic. Looks like a real theatre but the experience is intended see for kids with pre and post show activities, reasonable snacks, and our tux were just $25 each.

An incredible venue for children’s theater - most of which will entertain and mesmerize adults at least a much as little people. They’re breadth of programming is astounding, and they do a lot to support bringing in attendees who can’t usually afford or have access to the theater.

Came here to see Around the World in 80 Days. The show was really cute and lots of fun. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. Id definitely attend a show here again!

The place was cozy and the performance we watched was wonderful for family. All staffs were helpful and kind.

We were in town for a family event and we always try to see a show. This was our first time at the New Victory Theater, but it will not be our last.Before the show, my daughter and I were sent downstairs to play. They had a number of activities to keep her interested. The show -- a performance by the Australian group Gravity and Other Myths -- was short (45 minutes) but absolutely breathtaking and fantastic. Id see them over and over anytime anywhere.After the show, we went back downstairs and my daughter got to meet the performers and get their autographs.I highly recommend both the theater and their excellent staff as well as the group Gravity and Other Myths.

Theater is geared toward educational presentations. A small intimate space with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Excellent student staff. Please support this effort toward education in the arts.

Best kids theater! Great international troupes perform here! Children are involved with the show from the moment they get in the lobby. New modern design of the infrastructure and a lovely space with gifts related to the shows. You can also get few small things to eat and drink.

Oldest working theater in NYC, apparently. We saw Ajijak (great show) and sat right at the back of the balcony in the middle. My fear of heights started playing up as its VERY high. The elevated seating is very steep, but I was engaged enough by the show and the clear view that I was able to forget the fear.The theater also has a downstairs area for kid-focused activities, as well as a café - although, it was closed when we went down after the show. Very nice vibe in this theater, as you would hope, since its focus is children and family friendly entertainment. Recommended!

What a great way to introduce children to theater! Most of the shows are less than an hour. Longer shows are geared for older children with intermission times noted so you can decide whats appropriate for you little one. Themes are geared for the children but adults will find them just as enchanting and even thought-provoking. Many a times, weve found that we can take some of the ideas for Art and Performance at home. The theater offers amenities like stroller parking and coat lockers for free. Become a member by buying tickets to 3+ shows and you get a discount.

The New Victory TheaterThis theater is beautiful. It was built in1900. You should come here. You will enjoy everything they offer.

This is a beautifully restored little childrens theater in the heart of Times Square. It is well thought out with pre-show activities for the children that relate to the show, stroller parking outside the theater seating area, child friendly snacks, booster cushions for the seats and a limited # of lockers for use. The bathrooms are clean and modern, but can get crowded especially after the show. We had a great view of the stage from our orchestra seats, and I am sure the view from the balcony was also good because it is a small theater. Staff was friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the historical photos of Times Square and the theater in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The quality of the show (Air Play) was excellent and entertaining for adults as well as children. It easily reminded me of the beauty of simplicity and wonder of being a child. I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that it felt a little crowded in the lobby pre-show and the activities could have been better attended to by the staff who didnt really engage the children.

They also have a separate space to run shows for small children. Short programs, intimate atmosphere. Highly advised if live in NYC or just visiting.

Amazing kids theatre programming. Consistently high quality shows that are not painful for the adults to sit through. Tips: get a booster seat downstairs before the performance for your little ones, and pre-order you intermission snacks from your usher. It will save you easily 10 min of standing in line later and then rushing your kids to eat faster!

The place itself is really nice. I love the entire setup of the theater and the fact that it partners with schools so they could go see shows at a discount. If there was one show there for a long time- The place would be much more sucessful, but it only accompanies touring theatre acts. So, if you are in nyc and are looking for something inexpensive and fun, The New Vic is for you

I love going there. They have great programs for children. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

The show was fabulous and very creatively done. However the stairs to the balcony level Were very steep. Also the railing in the balcony level is very low allowing one to fall possibly 60 ft to the lowest level

Great place for tourists and locals alike. During the summer there are street fairs and you can get broadway tickets on the cheap. Lots of places to eat nearby with outside seating free for everyone. This is great to rest your feet after a long day of walking or to watch people (characters) walk by you.As expected its extra busy during the summer months with all the tourists. If youre looking for a somewhat calmer vibe (but not really), go during the off season.

Great theater.unbelievable Irish Dance show (Velocity).

This is really a childrens theater, problem is if you buy a seat in the mezzanine and you are not a thin and short adult you will end up in knee killer hell. The seat spacing might be illegal on an airliner, but nowhere are you warned of this major problem. After a trip to the box office I was able to get another seat, but really it was not much better. I ended up sitting on the top of the back of my chair for the entire performance.
