The Ambassador theater is a beautiful venue to see a play or musical. While many theaters have very cramped seats the Ambassador feels more spacious and the seats less cramped. Overall, it is a great experience regardless of what you come to see at this theater.

Amazing show - Chicago is on at this theatre at the moment. The theatre is across the street from the Crown Plaza hotel in Times Square. Be warned though if you fancy a glass of wine it will set you back a whopping $26.00! You will get a Chicago keep mug if you think its worth the money. (Thats what they pour the wine into!) A programme is given to you as you enter the auditorium.

If you have big hips then focus on the show because you in for an uncomfortable seating experience! 5 star discomfort!! Discomfort at its finest! Architects of torture Chambers from all over the world visit this theater to study how to offer someone the highest level of pain from a seated position. Water torture has nothing in this. Be ready to go directly to the hospital after a show for hip surgery as it will be required for you to function as a normal human being. I saw Chicago and it was really good. My hips hurt. Bad. Thank you. I would bow but my hips are in recovery.

Ambassador theater is conveniently located within the walking distance from Times Square (5 -7 minutes). The staff is very friendly and you will have a great time. Theater is 2 floors. Couple of tips:- Arrive beforehand - at least an hour before the play. There is going to be a lot of people so make sure to get in get seated and...- Use the bathroom! Ladies, the line is unbelievable. It goes all the way down the stairs to the second floor.- Get comfortable - most probably, all the seats will be taken. The play is about 2.5 hours with 15 mins in between. Make sure to stretch and sit comfortably.- Get a cup of wine. They sell very cute cups with wine inside for a reasonable price. They also sell little snacks to have a bite!Great time! Thank you!

I just judge the theater. Old Charme, no question. The rows are really very narrow. Especially the first role in the first Circle. Very inconvenient. And absolutely incredible is to provide only one two toilets for the hole theatre. One for men, one for women. So you better go before....

We saw Chicago here for our anniversary. Smaller theatre but sound travels very well and quality is decent. Nothing amazing about the theater but the venue is good. One thing that is super unique is that the orchestra is on the stage the whole time and not below, and some of the musicians and composers interact with the actors as well. Good spot!

February 2020All that Jazz @chicagoonstage what an amazing show?!It was only right we did red and black for Chicago night ️Erika Jayne (@theprettymess) you were such a treat to watch as Roxie Hart #erikajayne ️The story of beautiful murderous Jazz temptresses Roxie Hart & Velma Kelly and the battle with fame, fortune and men... Especially Billy Flynn .I came to the Ambassador Theatre with my family whilst in New York and this was what my mum wanted to do to celebrate her 50th birthday. Brilliant choice, brilliant show! The Ambassador Theatre itself was quite intimate but its historical architecture throughout the building gave it a lovely ambience to sit and watch one of the most iconic shows ever performed. If you intend on going to watch a show on Broadway, I highly recommend Chicago!DM me for more info on instagram: @Sammigirl__

We were seated in the rear mezzanine left center and had difficulty seeing the full stage without leaning forward, so I would spring for a more expensive ticket located on the bottom level or the center of the mezzanine level next time. The staff was very friendly as we made our way to our seats and extremely accommodating when I left a personal item behind and went back to retrieve it.

Awesome place, we saw Chicago here. It’s nice because you since the theater is so small you feel apart of the performance because the actors are literally 5 feet away from you!!! Awesome place but if you have trouble with space and leg room you might have a problem. I went with someone who has arthritis really bad in there knee so we had to move to handicap. Still a very good view but if you or your guest/s have problems like that buy the handicap tickets instead of moving.

Great to see John O’Hurley!! This was our first theater experience. I was familiar with Chicago and my husband was not. The seat location made the singing a little difficult to hear so I found myself explaining some of the story to him during the show. The seats are small but did not make the experience any less enjoyable. The line gets long quickly, but also moves quickly. We purchased our tickets in advance the same day so we didn’t have to wait for tickets. I think that arriving closer to showtime was good because we didn’t have to wait for everyone to sit down, the show started almost right when we were seated. * See if you can find my photo locations and send me the match! *

Would love to give this 5 stars. For the show itself I would, it was great, but the theatre leaves much to be desired. My pregnant wife couldn’t even get through the bathroom line before intermission was over (and I barely could in the men’s line), and the seats. Oh the seats. Narrow as can be and zero leg room. My feet were forced to be tucked back behind my knees and I had to constantly watch to make sure I didn’t knee the person in front of me in the back of the head when shifting trying to find a little reprieve from the discomfort. Absolutely miserable experience as far as comfort goes. If you’re over 5’5 make sure you sit on the first level. Looked like they maybe had a little more room.

Cute because the vintage decor is charming & the theatre functions well for its purpose but it was average for both comfort & sound (front only speakers). Also, drinks were ridiculously expensive (2 drinks almost as much as 1 ticket) with no prices displayed & the lovely bartender didnt warn us about. Wish I could give this more stars because I love the arts & want to support live theatre venues but it doesnt deserve an above-average rating, so here we are.

The show is awesome. I enjoy it a lot. But the theater is too small, try not to sit in high level. You will not be able to have eye contact with the performer if you sit too high. I know, its all about money. But, life is short, isnt it?

Came here to see Chicago, very nice place but there are some areass of improvement as well. The chairs arent particularly comfortable and the spacing is very cramped. More washrooms would be helpful as well since the line-ups were very long during intermission. The show was great but one thing that distracted me was how little room the performers had to do their show, the band took up about 70% of the stage space.

Worst rendition of Chicago I’ve ever seen. Poor performance by the leading gals. No stage props, bad vocals, and uncomfortable seating. They were on stage working a job instead of a performance. The best vocalists & play performers are seldom paid, which explains the lack of soul in today’s show. Tonality & tempo issues are just some of this play’s faults. I wish lines weren’t rushed and songs had guts. —Regular theater goer.

Went to see Chicago with two friends, the staff was friendly enough, the theater was pretty old abd the seats are kinda tight, but overall it was a pleasant experience. The musical was ruined for us though, because someone thought itd be a good idea to cast Christie Brinkley for the lead role of Roxie! Smh she was bad ALL around- couldnt sing, couldnt and didnt dance, couldnt act!! The final dance number was the only time she danced and couldnt keep up with the basic steps as she perfomed side by side with the professional who played Velma Kelly!! We really need to see it again with a true Broadway/stage actress!!!
