Great theater with great seats throughout. The security at the stage door was fantastic - very polite and kind and they were also prepared with extra sharpies for the cast that was coming out for autographs. I truly appreciate their professionalism. The lounge in the basement is nice to warm up in after being in the cold before going to your seat.

I saw Gary at this theater last night and was unpleasantly surprised by the level of customer service. I think perhaps the employees and management at this establishment forget that it is in many cases the tourist dollars which ultimately fund their paychecks. I witnessed grouchy employees bark at elderly tourists as if they were young children.During a huge rainstorm, employees were kind enough to let us wait inside, but barked at us like we were a herd of stupid sheep. No water bottles!Don’t cross this velvet rope, what do you think it’s here for?Get away from the door, it opens outward! Don’t stand in front of thatdoor because that’s the stage door and someone could come out!You need to make room for people to get to the box office so go stand back there! Where? Back there behind some other guy.If you are going to run an establishment that caters to many tourists in one of the most visited cities on the planet, then you should hire people who understand tourists may not know your rules. We won’t know exactly where to stand. We won’t know that doors open outward because there was a fire in New Jersey many years ago and all New York doors are required to be opened outward. We won’t know what is and isn’t allowed in a theater. We won’t know that the air-conditioning will be turned down so low and even though many of us are sitting in wet clothing due to the rain storm it will not be adjusted.Perhaps some people come here to be spoken to as if they are idiots. But I saw people who could have been my parents or grandparents being talked to in ways that I found very offensive. I will never visit this theater again. And I hope management reads my comments and takes them seriously. It’s clear some of your employees have been at their jobs for way too long. The one exception to my review is a charming usher named Phil. He was friendly, outgoing, engaging, and spoke to everyone in a fun and welcoming manner. Aside from Phil if I wanted to be treated like I was in preschool, I would visit your theater more often. Never again.I take no pleasure in writing reviews like this. But I felt I had to speak up on behalf of the elderly folks visiting this theater.

This theatre is very quaint. I visited the Booth theatre to watch Broadway show American Son. This show was great and included stars such as Kerry Washungtin and Steven Pasquale. There is handicapped availability on the regular level. The cheaper seats are on the second level; which is not a bad location beacaue the theatre is small and all seats have a great view. There is a restroom upstairs as well as downatairs. If you ever get a chance to visit a Broadway play in N.Y., check to see whats playing at the Booth theatre first because you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed my seating as wrk as the show. The employees were also helpful and courteous.

I saw The Boys in the Band here, and while the theatre is cosy and intimate, if youre sitting at the back like I was, you had an obscured view of the upstairs scenes. If you can, get seats in the middle and towards the front of the theatre. Youre not going to get a full experience sitting at the back of this venue.

The brother of the founder of this theater murdered Abraham Lincoln. The fourth play ever produced here was the same one that Lincoln was watching when he got killed. That just seemed unnecessary. The theater is pretty cool BTW and freestyle love supreme is so much fun with the crowd. It’s a shame that it will be closing so soon. I need to hit a certain amount of words to have this review count as longer which helps my local guide score, so I’m gonna just keep rambling until I get there. I recommend that if you enjoy this review, you smash the like and follow buttons and check out some of my older content, and maybe like that too. It would really help.

Beautifully aged and ornate. This intimate theater was perfect for this intense, thought provking, authentic and moving play American Son. The actors were captivating and brought the writers vision to life! The venue was perfect. The acoustics were excellent, allowing you to hear every word. The seating was comfortable and the Broadway feel was present. I would definitely choose this theater to see another performance. Very pretty little theatre. We were lucky enough to get last minute seats and they were perfect. We saw The Boys in the Band, staring Jim Parsons, in previews. Went to see American Son with Kerry Washington. I stand 5 ft 10 in., If the show wasnt as riveting as it was I wouldnt have forgotten about my discomfort my knees were pressed against the back of the chair in front of me. We didnt see a coat check so I had to hold my coat and purse in an already very limited space, which added to the discomfort. Aesthetically the theater its beautiful, the acoustics were great as whats my line of sight. The male usher upstairs was courteous and attentive, but the female usher was curt and dismissive, not only to me but was overheard being very rude to other theatre guest.

I saw Gary here in May of 2019 and it was absolutely extraordinary! I had tickets in the Mezzanine at the very back row(row H). Viewing the stage from the Mezzanine, I felt like I living in a 4:3 aspect ratio, the seats are situated so you end up having elbow wars with the person next to you. Luckily I was pulled out with 4 others in row H and were given near back row orchestra seats. The space available in these seats isnt even comparable, its like heaven and Earth. Also the play was good.

Saw Lin-Manuel Miranda’s newest Broadway gig here last night at first preview. It’s 100% improv (or so they say). Will see with time if they actually planted ppl in the audience or if it’s based on actual audience input. Whatever the case, it’s a talented and brilliant cast. Bottom line: I think it’s too pricey for what it is. $155 for a mezzanine ticket for a 90 mins show. Also they lock up your phone so only have this one photo.

Expect the typical Broadway theater experience. The line moved fairly fast and the ushers were very friendly and helpful. Lots of advantages to a small theater.. the lines are short everywhere be it for drinks or the loo for one. Then Id say all seats in the house will be pretty good. We saw Boys in the Band here, fantastic show by the way, made awesomer by the cool, effortless experience this theater offers.

Were going there for Matt Bomer.Booth Theater is right in the heart of Broadway, on 45th Street, near the Marriot Times Square. A typical Broadway theater: old, renovated, room of some 800 seats with mezzanine, comfortable seating. I was at the orchestra level at $ 159 USD, so among the best places. The production featured The Boys in the Band with several movie stars: Matt Bomer (White Collar), Zacharie Quinto (Star Trek), Charlie Carver, etc. New Broadway way : a lot of productions with movie stars, for a limited number of weeks. In this case, from late June to mid-August 2018.The play brings us into a gay birthday party. Adventures both tragic and very funny. Everyone is bitche to who better. A not so gay world, as we said a few decades ago. However, it is a very pleasant moment.I was at the afternoon presentation (2pm). Comedians do not show up after the play for signatures or selfies. Pity! You have to be generous with the audience, guys. Its the audience that makes you live!

Our second time seeing American Son. Everything went smoothly the first time. Seating was comfortable enough and acoustics were good. The second time we were a group of 15, the day before New Years Eve, so with road barricades and traffic, not everyone arrived on time. The play is only 90 minutes, and we were told if we didnt go in at the start, there would only be one other opportunity to enter at 20 into the show. Our party had split seating, half in mezzanine and half in orchestra. This was due to inadvertently purchasing through Head Out, which I would not recommend for a large group. Anyway, I left 7 tickets at the box office for the guests who had not arrived. Because some were for mezzanine and some for orchestra, the seating got confused, and family members were not seated together. In hindsight, I should have put names on each ticket, but I was being rushed to go in by the theater staff, so I didnt think to do that. Other than that, all was well.

Went to the box office today and asked about ticket availability. The girl at box office was explaining that there were seats available through Saturday and Sunday was black. At that point a door opens and a man was wagging his finger and scolding me to be quiet as there was a show going on. I was talking through the glass at the box office so maybe my voice was loud enough...certainly not yelling. I would have no idea my voice could be heard through the door and no idea that door even led directly into the theater. The ticket booth worker never asked me to whisper nor did I speak extraneously about anything other than tickets. It was a two minute conversation. When he left I looked at the ticket booth and said ...he just yelled at me to be quiet? She said dead pan...there is a show going on. I was at a ticket counter which was there to sell tickets. Certainly I should be able to talk at an ordinary level about buying tickets. Otherwise the box office should be closed. The worker took a phone call and I left. I bought tickets to hello dolly instead. It was a very awkward and unnecessarily unpleasant experience. Furthermore the ticket booth should have a sign stating to whisper or the booth worker should tell people to whisper to avoid this embarrassing situation.

The theater itself is fine, but the show American son, was in my view, problematic.Kerry Washington expressed fear and rage and plenty of both, but not much else. Her characters situation pretty much set her up for that, But no one said that the situation had to be precisely the way it was. That was the playwrights decision.Uni- dimensional characters ... especially angry ones ... dont work too well for me. There is an ebb and flow in good writing that develops character in both relaxed and tense modalities. Unfortunately, this was not that sort of play.
