I had a great experience. Free tickets to check out the mansion. It now houses Hewitt Cooper collection. I was more interested in the mansion but there are different exhibits to see. The outside cafe had many visitors.

I toured the museum and was not expecting to see all the exhibits displayed. I was really interested in the house and unfortunately most of it is covered up by the exhibits. I love old architecture and furnishing to see how the they lived back in the day...dont expect to see much of that.

Design museum in a mansion. Tours of the mansion itself on certain days, but the design museum can also be explored by yourself.

Home to the Cooper Hewitt/Smithsonian Museum of Design. There is an interactive kiosk on the second floor showcasing the history of the former Carnegie Mansion.
