Before everything closed this is one of my favorite and theaters. Staff so friendly and polite. Seats are awesome and its always clean.

This is my main theater I go to in New York City. I can always get a nice seat here and the theaters are large in space. I love the opera seats, I think thats the best view to watch a movie. The adjustable seats are comfy, the workers are nice, the food choices are expanding (delicious food and free refills in drinks). I cant complain about this place. Even the bathroom is nice.

Even though its a bit of a walk from the nearest train, its still a great theater. I love coming here because of the recliner seats. Because it is a pretty big theater, they show a lot more movies than the one around St. Marks.There are 3 floors, the ground floor being the entrance and where you buy the tickets. I rarely get to go downstairs to watch a movie so I can really only talk about the upstairs floor. You can purchase snacks upstairs and as a premiere member, you can wait on the shorter premiere line. The soda machines are to the side and the bathrooms are on the other side of the main part. There are theaters on either side of the main part. The hallway on the right has an extra set of bathrooms all the way at the end. This is convenient for people who are watching a movie down there and dont want to waste time walking down the hallway to the bathroom.Each theater has the red reclining seats which are super comfy. The front row is still not the best place to sit but its a bit more bearable in those seats since they recline.Overall, I would suggest coming to this theater for a great movie experience.

It is a big cinema, and it offer different kind of seats which it includes reclined seat and love seats. it has 15 screens, so there are a lot of movie show time. Some auditoriums are small, so check if there are some seats available before you go, especially you are going to watch a popular movie. i have to use wheel chair companion today.for small auditorium, rear rows are highly recommendation. i cannot watch the hold screen easily when i was sitting in the middle.

Unlike most AMCs in Manhattan, this great movie theater is tucked away on Second Avenue away from major transit hubs that bring masses of people to them. The theater is divided into an upper and lower section both with concession stands and restrooms. All the theaters have the signature AMC red recliners and the sound and picture quality are great. Only downside is this AMC does not have as many premium formats as you would find at the theaters at 34th or Time Square.

First time visiting while passing through NYC on holiday. Bit run down and grimy but inside the cinema itself it was fine. Seats neat and tidy, and overall enjoyable experience. Staff were a little rude but hey, it’s New York.

Great theater, especially if you ensure you are watching a movie at one of the theatres with reclining chairs. Food is expensive as expected, however they dont seem to check your bag when going in so have brought in food and water numerous times with no issues. Will definitely be going back.

A clean, tri-level, renovated AMC theatre. By renovated I mean it has the red leather reclining seats. Each individual theatre is not very large but the seat layout and viewing angles are pretty good from rows C and up. One of the most immaculately clean bathrooms Ive ever seen for an AMC. Standard AMC concession price guaging ($9+ for a regular popcorn that can feed 5 people). Definitely bring your own snacks!

A great theater, wonderful staff and so comfortable accommodations! You know what I appreciate the most about a business where you spend sitting for an hour and an half? A location that respects being clean and inviting. Going that extra mile helps. Always.

Great entrance for those coming in a taxi or who need wheel chair accessibility! Clean great sized theatre with the most wonderful reclining red seats. Was kind of disappointed with this place. They do have reclining seats but the are standard size. Ive been to theaters (out of state) where the reclining seats are spacious and there is room between you and the person next to you. Soda machine was out of almost every kind of soda except Coke. Popcorn was stale and the womens restroom floor was a mess.

I love AMC but Im not a fan of the huge crowds in the surrounding area... so Kips Bay is the perfect alternative! Out of the way, clean, great availability, cool events and with lots of spots to eat/drink before or after the movie.

Good theater. Lines can be very long sometimes at the concessions, even at off peak times. Seating is all reserved seats now, and you get a huge comfortable recliner chair.

Affordable clean two floor has a elevator perfect for disabled or pregnant or senior citizens or people with stroller so they don’t have to climb up stairs and an amazing stubs membership program

Always my first choice theater experience. Nothing beats the comfortable reclining chairs. They are also spaced out perfectly so you are never too close to the other theater goers. Even the back row is a great view to the screen.

The reclining leather seats were spacious and comfortable. Projector rooms were small and cozy. Only complaint is that the first couple of rows are far too close for how large the screen is.

This has become my go-to theatre now that I have AMC A-List. Even though it’s a little out of the way, it is clean, comfortable, and spacious. I went to the AMC in Times Square recently and the theatre (for a small movie) was sticky, with dirty fabric seats and literally every other arm rest collapsed onto the seat and missing the bottom of the cup holder. Back to Kips Bay for a great AMC experience!

The first time I came down here, the movie I wanted to see was sold out. So I went to my second option, but that was sold out too. Thats not the theaters fault though. I should have reserved seats ahead of time. Its a very nice theater. Spacious.

This has always been my go to movie theater. Something I noticed was that on the day/time a week I go there is lack of toilet paper in the stalls as well as the soap machines being filled. The last time I went I had to go down 5 soap dispensers until I got to one which worked. Also the last time I went a mouse ran across the theater on the ground floor which is always a turn off. I know its New York City but still...

I go to this movie theater all of the time, at least once a month. The experience is always great, they have comfy spacious recliner chairs, reserved seating, a lot of movie availability and one of my favorite is they show Ghibli films!Despite how often I go there, I’ve never written a review until my recent movie outing. I went to see Spider-Man far from home, the moment I got to my seat I realized the seats did not recline, which at this point is essential to my movie experience. I immediately approached an AMC staff member and explained the situation and he already had an idea of what the issue is. He explained to me the seat may be disconnected so he can have someone check it out or he could offer us another movie. I choose to have someone come take a look at the seat. He radioed someone and let me know they’d be there shortly. By the time I got back to my seat, there was already someone there working on my seat. Within 2 minutes it was fixed and my seat was reclining again.Now, that’s definitely what I consider great custom service which is why I am writing this review. This place is awesome, the people are awesome and the experience is awesome.ADDITIONALLY: the food is pretty good too! I often get the pepperoni flatbread. It doesn’t last long but it’s tasty!

One of the smaller AMC theaters. Although the recliner seats are pretty much the greatest Ive experienced (so far) I did love the huge space entering the building! I did also love the cute theater layout it was small, three rows, decent size screen and the best part was watching the movie It Chapter 2 but watching the film in a smaller theater with a decent sized screen made the experience a lot better especially a horror film. I see myself going back but, my downside is a personal matter since one of my exs lives in the area. If it werent for that Id definitely see myself going back here more often!

Great seating (lean back chairs). Relatively clean place. One of my preferred theaters in NYC. Favorite is 84th street on broadway; as its close. This one is my next favorite since they all have recliners. However, something feels a little off here still. Maybe needs a renovation.

This is a multiplex movie theater and is located around 20th street and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan. Besides the usual mainstream movies, they have a selection of independent movies and Indian movies.The theater sometimes gets crowded and noisy but not as often as the theaters on 42nd Street. Its a good place to catch a movieI hope it reopens soon

One of the best AMC theatres in the city. Clean and good concession stands and a wide range of theatre sizes from Imax to small cozy auditoriums for less popular movies. I think about 15 total screens but perhaps half are the small cozy ones.All the seats recline and are quite comfy .... join the amc perks program if you go see a few movies a year ... its worth it in discounts and in preferential line position for popcorn etc

Love this place. Relatively clean comparing to other locations (especially to AMC 25 where is just a disaster in terms of tidiness, cleanness and maintenance). Also they’ve got a lot of theater rooms with recliner chairs which I really appreciate.

My go to theatre for all my movie needs. Its smaller than most theatres I know which makes for better experiences as there are less people in each theatre room which equates to less noise. Never had any issues here with staff. Reserve your seats online early for best seats. The option is there so why not use it?

The staff is warm am friendly and prompt to Serve you. The venue is quite comfortable. Seats are cozy and the environment is very clean. I highly recommend this AMC

Love the reserve seating in this place. Chairs have always worked for me which is great. Sometimes the soda machine is broken, it they have a bunch so it’s fine. Overall it’s pretty clean and considering the size of the theatre pretty well maintained.

Im an AMC A-List and this is definitely one of my go to movie places. The seats are those amazing red recliner chairs and its clean! The staff is always nice and friendly. I do sometimes feel as if theyre understaffed especially during $6 Tuesday so youll just have to be a little bit patient. I am unsure if they offer ordering ahead at this location as Ive never done it. But over all I recommend this place.

The chairs were comfortable and there was space throughout the theatre. The staff at the front was pretty rude because as we entered and gave her our ticket, she ripped it haphazardly and seemed to think as if we were a nuisance. The tickets were also very bad as it wasn’t actually a thick “board” type of ticket you would imagine but a tiny flimsy piece of paper.

Watching the movie in this type of environment was absolutely amazing. The reclining chairs really had a major impact on my kids and I enjoyed it as well. The matinee was also very good experience. I really enjoyed going to see a movie nice nearly in the morning. Popcorn still tasted good. Sms the prices were very reasonable.

Its simply impossible to see from the two front rows, dont waste money on tickets to these. Also, they actually start the movie 20 minutes after the time they publish. During these 20 minutes you are forced to watch trailers for their upcoming movies, at a very high and disturbing volume.

The best theater in NYC. VERY clean, and has cozy seats. Little on the pricey side, but its worth it. The snack bar has interesting choices, and the bathroom is super clean.

If youre looking for a different experience beyond the theater AMC Kips Bay 15 is a place to go. **They offer VR experiences granted you must pay for them but they look totally worth it.** (I recommend doing it on the weekends and with a friend or family member.)

AMC Kips Bay 15 is the cleanest and most comfortable theater that Ive ever patronized. All of its auditoriums have clean carpeting that looks brand new and clean and comfortable seating; its IMAX auditorium was recently renovated and has brand new, fluffy leather seats, and its standard auditoriums all have seats that can recline and produce leg rests. Furthermore, all of this theaters auditoriums have stadium-style seating, which means that each isle behind the first one is higher than the one before it, which eliminates the possibility of someones view being blocked by someone sitting in an isle before them. I prefer this theater over all others.

First run movies at reasonable prices, cash only. Generally easy street parking. Two not very large theaters so all the seats are good. A prior reviewer complained about the cleanliness. I have never seen at as a problem here.

Great Cinema with amazing amenities! The chairs are so comfy and the concessions options are incredible! Plus they have a crazy amount of theaters and options! Our go to cinema!

AMC Kips Bay has the benefit of luxurious seating, but for many screens, seats are limited and the projection quality (particularly contrast/black levels) is a hit or miss depending on which auditorium your movie is in.In general the theater is well kept and clean, and it is one of the few AMCs around to show independent, limited release films.

Great theater if you can get tickets further back than front row. Big stadium seats and lots of smallish theaters mean they sell out quick. Other than that, its pretty standard AMC fare, but slightly better kept up and more friendly staff than I might expect so it always feels like a cut above.Convenience helps too: if you are on the M15 bus like me, its a less than ten minute walk from 29th Street, and they have a drug store, Fairway supermarket and even a small Target nearby, so its a great cinema to treat yourself and run some quick errands before going home after work. Very convenient and one of the nicer cinemas in NYC.

Place is flooded with mice all over dont go here u been warned place is soooo filthy you will see mice running all over while your trying to watch your movie and mangers are already aware of the issue

Saw The Joker here. Reclining seats make the movie experience a 10/10! Theatres are spacious. Food is expensive but expected. You can reserve your seats so buy your tickets in advance for really popular movies.

Nice movie theatre. I went on a Wednesday morning got half off tickets that led to some empty theatres which I love. You use the machines to buy the tickets then you can just walk upstairs

Its a nice spacious and clean theater with comfortable seating. The staff is friendly and courteous. The concession stand is always staffed and dishes out good food at good speed. The VR station is a pretty cool experience to pop in for or to kill time.

Normally a fine big theater where I enjoy seeing movies of the Bolshoi Ballet-- except for the little ladies who eat their lunch making noise crinkling paper and eating snacks. Today in freezing winter weather there was a problem in theater 9; the air conditioning was on. It was as cold inside as outside so I left early. Please fix this.

Nice and intimate theater; very much so on the small side so dont expect every movie to be showing at this location. the seats are the signature red recliners that lay all the way back. the concessions area is small and a bit sticky by the drinks. the auditoriums are well kept and clean. Had a great experience here definitely will be back.

Ok theatre is slacking off. If your first showing is at 12:30 then your manager should arrive at least at 11:45 and start the concession stand with popcorn and beverage. Was ready to buy some but nothing was ready so lost some revenue from about 20 patrons ready to buy food.

Have always enjoyed this theater. Very clean and they offer reclining seats. They since have added a gaming area which is fantastic, since now you have a place to kill time before your movie starts.

This AMC is a bit out of the way for some people but it’s a great place to see movies. Seats are comfortable and movie quality has been great. I have seen the inside of all the theater rooms here but all the ones I’ve been in so far have reclined. If you are looking for a new AMC to watch movies at, kips bay 15 is worth consideration.

Pretty good level of cleanliness and have a good selection of movie types (I.e. imax) recently they modified some of the theaters so the seat layout seems to be a little off so just be careful when reserving your seats

Do not sit in the front row!! The seats are too close to the screen. But the seats themselves are super comfy and recline almost all the way back. Very pricey movie tickets.

PLEASE AMC HAVE MORE THAN ONE EMPLOYEE BECAUSE BOTH LINES WERE LONG AND I GAVE COURTESY TO THE REGULAR STUB LINE TO GO AHEAD OF ME THE A-LIST PREMIERE LINE TO BE FAIR. BATHROOM AND AUDITORIUM AND SEATS WERE DECENT. MY FAMILY AND HAD MADE SURE WE CLEANED AFTER OURSELVES SO EMPLOYEES WOULDNT HAVE SUCH A BIG JOB FOR NEXT GUESTS.

This theater is relatively small compared to other AMC theaters in NYC. The concessions service can be slow. The location is kept clean. IMAX available. Recommend overall.

One of the better AMCs I go to in the city. Two seperate floors each containing their own concessions areas. Very clean and large enough to accommodate a crowd. All the seats in this theater are recliners and use a stadium seating layout, which allows better view of the screen without being bothered. My only issue is of one particular worker in the mornings, a woman who scans the tickets for the downstairs level. Very bad attitude, always gives wrong information, and seems to purposely play games with you.

An extremely nice and clean amc with some amazing seats. Its a bit out of the way but a 5 min walk from the 6 train so I always try to go out of my way to visit here. Staff was nice and the theater is really well kept

Saw Jojo Rabbit here over the weekend and had a great time. There were enough seats to go around and the it was very clean when we got it. And Im picky about my popcorn, luckily it was fresh like how I like it.

Always friendly and helpful the staff. Weve taken groups of kids here for birthdays and other celebrations and weve always found the place easily accessible, and a perfect fit for a gaggle of giggling, adventurous Lower Manhattan kids. Also, another easy place for us to slip in the (very) occasional date night with my Sweet Heart!

I love this theater. The reclining seats are extremely comfortable and its very clean here. I also enjoy the popcorn, especially if it has just been finished getting popped. I was upset at my last visit because the lowest level had the smell of vomit. All in all I feel its a good place to be.

Five stars for staff. One star for operating system. In one of the theatres now and if the a/c is on its on wheels. I asked for it to be kicked up. Bikram hot. And to reinforce my five stars for the staff, the a/c was tweaked. Many thanks.

Kips Bay is one of my favorite theaters. The place is clean. The popcorn is good. The seats recline. The price is cool. The theaters in Manhattan that Ive been to range in price from $15.99 to about $17.15. It all depends on whats important to you. Cleanliness and comfort is whats important to me so paying an extra $1.00 or 2 doesnt bother me if its a nice theater. Also, I always check reviews before going to any theater and Kips Bay had good reviews.

Went to see Playing with Fire originally, but was denied entry due to the fact i had brought in outside food.Was issued a refund ,and proceeded to purchase a ticket for Jojo The Rabbit, unfortunately to my surprise halfway through the movie, had the unfortunate experience of witnessing a massive cockroach just strolling its way down the steps!!!How unfortunate, and unsanitary, was also given a refund for this movie as well.Definitely ruined the Kips Bay experience for me lol, as i enjoyed coming to this theater until now.This theater more then likely has a roach infestation, when you see one cockroach its an indication theres more.

Large number of screens and decent screen/audio quality, but grossly let down on a recent visit by being seated next to homeless person. Sadly, he smelt so bad that people around him couldnt stomach remaining in the theatre. As he had an official ticket he couldnt be asked to leave. Tickets were refunded but the day was ruined. A complimentary ticket (or even just a box of popcorn) would have cost next to nothing, but we were refunded and shown the door. Contacting AMC directly did more of the same.

Reclining seats, all with great sight lines make taking in a movie at the Murray Hill fixture a visit worth making. Next to a Fairway supermarket and just two blocks from a Trader Joes, I suggest planning a day. Grab a snack from Fairway, then take in a movie then head back to get your groceries for the week. Will all of the great restaurants dinner and movie is an awesome option.

This place is clean and not as crowded as their other theaters in Manhattan. The reclining chairs are really comfy. Why the 2 stars? Because their ticketing system is really messed up. When we arrived, we were told at the box office that there were only two, separate seats left. We had no choice but to take them. We went inside the theater 10 minutes before the previews and it was half-empty! I scanned the theater as the movie progressed and saw many unoccupied seats. At another AMC location, we were assigned the same seats as another couple! We gave way because they got there first.
