Super fun theater! Just saw Casablanca with my family. Great movies - check their site for dets. The area is very fun on a weekend. Lots of activity and plenty of places to eat after. Our Fav is Orphan Andys. Or try Super Duper Burger. Both in walking distance. The theater is very large so dont worry about movies selling out. The seats are comfy and rows are wide. Gorgeous interior. Very classic. You wont regret a trip here!! Have fun!

Perhaps the greatest vintage movie theater in all of New York City. This small, intimate theater has two floors, multiple theaters, a movie-themed book store, a nice restaurant, kind staff, and the guarantee to create only great memories. Metrograph is a sanctuary for film aficionados, food lovers, and those who enjoy good times. 11/10 Recommend!

I love this downtown cinema. Lots of brick and old wood and cozy with a very cool atmosphere. Amazing programs. Almost makes up for the loss of the Sunshine Cinema. Highly recommend.

Very tastefully done and intimate independent theater. Just be wary of the seats on the very edges of one of the two theaters - those seats were small plastic chairs for the showing of Uncut Gems that I attended.

A very nice, intimate movie theater for film buffs. Big screen, good sound. Balcony has two rows, with good sight lines.

We went to see a great documentary If We Burn. The movie was great, but the cinema double booked my friends’ seats so they had to scramble for empty seats. Some people ended up sitting on the stairs because the cinema double booked plenty other seats. Beware that this cinema might mess up your seats even if you have a ticket.

Outstanding independent movie theater, showing an array of new and older films. Beautiful vintage seating in roomy theater. Plus theres a hopping bar/ restaurant scene. Highly recommend.

Love the decor upstairs, staff friendly and so forth. But they should tone down a few decibels for their diners. The music selection is fine, it’s way too loud for conversations while dining.

Classy and not over priced (I mean all NYC theaters are way to expensive, but compared to the rest this one is good bang for its buck)Has great selection, screenings on 35mm, and talks. I love that they will play films from the past for a few nights, and so can always trust their programming.

This is a cool place to watch a variety of films of different countries, genres and time periods. I loved the opportunity to see films like Akira, Fantastic Planet, and Downtown 81 on the big screen. I also enjoy the aesthetic of the venue, which I can describe as minimalist, classic, and clean.

This is a must-go theater for any cinephile. Just watched AI screened here. The decor inside the theater is vintage but there an upscale-ish bar on the upper level. Will come back for many more movies.

This theater is really cool and its handicap accessible. However, the snack department is lacking as they dont serve fresh popcorn. It comes in tubs that are prefilled. They do have a good variety of slightly overpriced candy, though.

Great movies shown here. Staff are courteous. The seats in the theatres...are terrible. They start hurting your lower back an hour into the movie.

Youre only going to get comfortable seats in the mezzanine seating area, and youre going to pay through the nose for the gourmet bottled water here, but otherwise its well-staffed and very clean. Not especially obvious what it is from the street outside -- you need to know what youre looking for. They have a restaurant, bar, and bookstore, if thats your game.
