They have very comfortable seats, a big screen, and a cold room while watching the movie. I have really loved the whole thing about this place. The place is always good for watching any kind of movie and a reasonable price. Set your spirit free and watch the movie. Thank you very much!

If you want a classic film experience, this is the theater for you. I came here with a friend to see Marriage Story, and it would be a travesty for this place to close down. Arriving, I felt like I was at more than just a cinema. It was very, very proper. It reminded me of the Wilbur Theater in Boston. I was definitely impressed by how grand it is. Inside, I felt snug and cozy. The acoustics of the film were incredible and the seats were comfy. Afterward, the director, Noah Baumbach, came out for a Q&A. He talked about how important it is to keep seeing films in theaters. We need theaters like City Cinemas at the Paris Theater.

I was pleased with my experience in this cinema house. The seats were well-organized and comfortable. Besides, the screen was big and loud. Even the foods that I bought were hot, and the drinks were cold. I mean, my entire day spending in your cinema house was truly fantastic and fun. I will come back here soon. Thank you so much!

Yeah its the The Paris Theater. If youre going here its a treat or a luxury, so pricing aside its got great food and drinks, great service, friendly workers, and great theaters. If youre consistently late youll hate it because they wont let you in, but then youre no friend of cinema anyway.

I am over the moon to hear that the Paris is open again. Most beautiful, comfortable and iconic theater in NYC, and, luckily has NOT been chopped up into small little shoe box compartments. See movies the way they were intended, in a an airy, glamorous setting right in mid-town that feels like a real night out! Thank you NETFLIX!!!!

A great little niche movie house by the Plaza and Central Park. Lots of great shopping in the area. If you want to see a good movie on a day of shopping or visiting the park this is a fun spot. It’s my favorite movie house in the area and has a Paris theme. I took off a star since the bathrooms are down a flight of stairs and I don’t think there’s an elevator. (Not 100% sure about no elevator but none I could see). It’s a fun little, almost tucked away, local spot. Most of my reviews are for places that I personally like to visit.

Dear Manager of the Paris theatre,I am writing to let you know a serious misbehavior of one of your employees and with the hope of a change. I came with a friend to see the new Pavarotti movie tonight June 19 7:15 pm show. As the movie finished and I was leaving, I run into a couple, the husband being one of worlds’s important painter who honored me with his friendship. We stopped to say hi each other briefly, and the woman who was working In the theatre (small built, dark curly hair with glasses), very rudely and impatiently came twice to make us to leave-mind you this was nowhere near the next show and we were on no ones way. What was worse, my friend came with me (an elderly lady in her 80s) was using the bathroom. your employee first of all made me went to check, as I checked outside she locked me out of the theatre(how about that). Then she went down to bathroom practically chased out my friend and threw us out. I told her “you do not need to lock the door” her response was “the door needs to be Locked” and gave us a sarcastic look. Mind you this is still far from the start of the next show. This is just too ugly to not to take my time reporting to you. I simply do not know why would she deserve to be working here or anywhere else. We come here often, and would appreciate if we would never be encountered with this kind of food unhappy, unkind, unprofessional people, and have such abnormally irritating and humiliating experience.

I did wanna note that sure - pricing is still exorbitantly high for a theater. I do admit though that the recent The Paris Theatre A List makes going to the movies a breeze (previous Moviepass-er here) and pricing-wise, is much more comfy and sensible (at least as of 4/8/19) as an option if you do tend to go to the theater often. Will definitely be coming back!

Had a great time last weekend! Outstanding customer service. I must say however, certain patrons did not treat your employees nicely. The most recent review (Xinou Wei) was very rude to a young lady working at the door. While him and his friends continued talking in front of the entrance while we tried to leave the building, the young lady at the door tried to politely get them to move, while they continued to stand there and talk. I do not feel his review is fair, since he was very rude to everyone around him, including me.We kindly left to let the employees clean, and had to wait longer because they (Xinour Wei and friend) decided to take their time in the restroom. I feel like their review is not honest at all, and does not reflect my experience and the service I receive from the people there.

Nice single screen theater, seats are nice and soft but in the old movie theater style not like what youd find in the newer remodeled multiplexes. The concession stand is in the basement with the restrooms and they only have popcorn, candy, and some ice cream sandwiches alongside soda bottles. Screen is far enough away that sitting in the second row is not a bother at all and I wouldnt mind sitting there again. I definitely would go back if the film is right.

My favorite place to see a film in the city. I’ve never waited “2 hours” to buy tickets as a previous reviewer mentioned, but who in their right mind would... next time go online for goodness sake. Once inside the theater is comfortable and never has their been a problem with noise from the crowd, nor have I ever experienced the snack bar closing before the film ends. It’s truly a great cinema experience.

This theater is quite the gem. Its situated across from the southern end of Central Park. Paris is a single screen theater. It screens recent releases and shows recently released films and documentaries. I highly recommend catching a flick here. The theatre itself is quite nostalgic. From the old-school seats to a curtained silver-screen. As for prices, its way less expensive than a regular theater.

The theater has always been a beautiful, comfortable and classy place. However, the staff is incredibly rude. The woman in the box office refused to let a handicapped gentleman enter the lobby to sit. She made him wait in line for 15 minutes. Clearly there are exceptions for people with disabilities. The 3 stars are for the theater only! I’ll not be back and have been a patron of the Paris Theater since the 70s! OBNOXIOUS STAFF!!!

One of the last vintage movie houses in NYC where it’s one screen in a large seating capacity theatre. Management therefore needs to be highly selective in film choices - and it is. We’ve seen many movies at the theatre because they don’t bombard you with the coke and popcorn commercials and the quality of the selections. They offer reserved seating so you can make some choice of your preferred seating. The only problem is that there is no indoor lobby to stand and wait entrance, inconvenient in inclement weather. The ticket booth sometimes gets congested and the number of showings per day are limited. And the rise in stadium-like seating is minimal to help with line of sight viewing. But I’d hate to see this theatre chopped into pint-size multiplexes with escalators as a bigger profit motive. Fits the location next to the Plaza hotel across the street.

Inconvenient, anachronistic movie experience. We had to wait outside in line for more then 30 minutes. Then, we had to wait more for the consession stand and the bathrooms. The movie started 40 minutes after the scheduled time! The theater itself is big, but the screen is very small for today’s standards. The seats are built in a way that you can’t see past the person sitting in front of you. I’m of average hight, and the shorter lady sitting in front of me blocked 1/4 of the screen. The sound quality and digital screening was ok, I guess... but the whole experience sucked. Not going back.

Wonderful selection of lesser distributed films. You dont get a choice as they only play one film every few months. If youre in the mood for a film, but either cant decide what to watch or cant get good tickets to whatever mainstream movies are showing at the last minute, head on here and youll be guaranteed a great film with great seats available, even for walk-ins. The theatre is huge but theres only a very gentle slope to the seats - getting blocked is a real possibility - but thankfully screenings are rarely packed (mostly sparse, actually) so most of the time you feel like youre in a private screening with just a few other strangers.

Awful. Such a shame that they have no regard for your experience. Tickets arent cheap. I was waiting with my mom and some other older women on a very cold night and a few of us were waiting inside, having gotten there early. They very rudely told us we needed to wait outside when we werent blocking any doors or disturbing anything. They even repeated it to a woman who hadnt left yet who was buttoning her coat. There was plenty of room. The theater itself is antiquated and the seats are uncomfortable. I was shocked to learn they are part of the same theater group as the Cinema 123 which has been completely renovated with reserved seating and luxurious recliners. No need to ever return here.

The Paris Theatre is my all-time favorite movie theater. Its exactly what a movie going experience should be. You wont have to suffer the indignities of many multiplexes - its a clean, classic movie house with great taste in films and a balcony to boot. The downside to this is that it only plays one movie at a time, usually for several weeks. That just means that visits are special occasions. Ive seen a lot of great movies there like the Artist and A Single Man, in addition to French gems like Chansons DAmour. Each time, Ive left the theater glad that I saw that film the Paris, since makes the whole experience a little bit magical.
