My husband and I both thought this was a fun stop. They offer a sort film with the history of Mardi Gras in NOLA. Then we got to wander around the warehouse and see people working on current float props and see the steps of creation. We got to admire many props around the warehouse. Amazing artwork! We even got a piece of King Cake to try. Fun.

Still worth the visit during COVID if youve never been before! We watched a short movie in their theater on Mardis Gras and how floats are made. You can walk around the warehouse on a self-guided tour and see how floats are pained and put together with styrofoam and papier-mache. The floats are beautiful and spectacular to see up close.

It was great to get an up close look at some of the past and future Mardi Gras floats. The details that go into the props were really amazing. We watched an artist adding white accents to the pupils of a face climb down from her ladder to step back 20ft and get a better perspective of what parade goers would see. It is art at the heart of it all, not just junk to drag down the road. Only 2 other people in the place while we were there. Free shuttle makes it convenient and summer admission is reduced price, bonus! Be aware that it is an open warehouse without climate control. Even though its on the river, hot is hot in NOLA.

Such a unique place to visit. Its not as large as I thought but you can legit spend over an hour here. They force you to get tours which isnt great but each little float is picture worthy. The river is right behind, which is nice as well. I wish there was a cheap food court or something nearby because Mardis Gras world is a bit out of the way.

We loved this place and would definitely recommend a visit. The tour was very informative and we learned the history and significance if mardi gras. We got to see the making of a number of floats and what goes in it. Other than the floats, there were a number of other interesting pieces of art. Each being unique and mind blowing. We purchased the 2 day city pass and this place was included with the pass. It is lots of fun for young kids too. They offered King cake at the beginning of the tour which was good too. There was plenty of paid parking just across the street.

I was a little bit disappointed by this, to be honest. The warehouse and all the floats in it were really cool. But tour, there is not.Theres a video you watch about Mardi Gras, which is a little generic. But there wasnt a tour; you just walk around the warehouse on your own. I wouldve liked a tour with a tour guide and stops in front of certain pieces with stories, explanations, etc. Even if this was an audio tour that stops at certain places I can get with that.Just know this isnt what you might think its going to be.

A fun tour, most fun if you don’t think about the price. It is $22 per ticket. You do get a small piece of king cake handed to you in a napkin though... the tour starts with a video for fifteen minutes or so which is interesting, but it would be nice if they raised the screen up another foot for people in the back of the room. It is really neat seeing how the pieces get made as well as how they re-use or re-purpose so many things. They have two head molds that they have been using for over twenty years. With different props on the heads they look remarkably different when they make a character from the molds. The five axis CNC is super cool too. It also turns out that they make the famous Chick Fil A cows as well as Dairy Queen signs, among about a million other corporate things. They also have a dozen warehouses which is super impressive. So except for some minor quibbles, I really liked this tour.

The tour price was very high for what you experienced. For $22 you watch a 15 minute movie, eat a slice of king cake and then you are shown where they make the pieces that go on the floats. What they make is impressive, but after a while you become numb to it. Im not saying it wasnt cool, just overpriced. One benefit is that their drivers will pick you up and drop you off at various locations around the city.

A must see when visiting NOLA. This place provides a fascinating inside look at Mardi Gras. You first watch a short movie about the history of mardi gras, then they give you a slice of king cake before taking you behind the scenes. The price seemed a bit high for the tour (we saved a few dollars through Groupon). This was a well organized tour of the warehouse facility where the Mardi Gras floats are stored and built.Tons of photo opportunities here. The parking is very costly 20$. We didnt take the free shuttle that picks you up at some locations.

If youve ever been interested in Mardi Gras this place is awesome. You get to check out old props and floats in the massive warehouse. Take the tour and you get to see props being made from scratch, refinished, and more. See floats in various stages of being built, grab a bit of King cake, and let the good times roll. They also do fun party planning. When I went we got the tour, plus a mask painting class, plus catered dinner in the fabulous warehouse next door that has a plantation set built inside. They also have a ballroom that seats 5,000 for your big events.

This was expensive for a tour that could be self guided. We live in New Orleans and had family in town that wanted to go here. It was just ok. The guide didnt know much about New Orleans or Mardi Gras that wasnt common knowledge. They show a movie before you go in the warehouse and she just repeated that. I think if they are going to charge a high price they should have people with more knowledge giving the tours that can answer questions along the way. Not recommended.

Called for the shuttle (advertised as a “quick” pickup on the website), was told it would be delayed because of weather (understandable). When I asked, was informed “not long.” Called back after 40 min and was promised the driver would be there in less than ten min. In all, my wife and I waited over an hour for the shuttle (outside, as the website instructed)... i though for sure the shuttle would be full when it arrived (because of the hour wait), but there were only two other passengers aboard. I understand that it is free, and it that is a courtesy, but folks want to use their vacation time wisely... I don’t blame the friendly driver. I just think that it is terrible policy to have folks wait for over an hour when it’s raining. Or, if there is an unreasonable wait (1 hour wait for a 12 min ride is more than unreasonable) it would have been great for me to know so that I could make better plans. The short video (15 min) and the tour (also 15 min) were interesting and informative, but certainly not worth the price tag (44 bucks for two adults) Cut the price in half and it would be worth it. Also certainly not worth an hour wait.If you’re coming to NOLA. Skip this one.
