We stopped off here to enjoy fish tacos and burgers at the picnic tables overlooking the beach. Sometimes you really feel lucky to live in California, and this was one of those times. With cinematic views, and surfers catching waves below, our experience was amazing.
The reason real estate prices are so high is because we e have far too many people for the number of wonderful places people may enjoy. Nicholas Canyon Beach is definitely one of those beautiful over crowded places.
This beautiful beach was almost empty. We came here on Sunday, Memorial day weekend and came down a really steep and narrow path directly from the highway, hitting the middle of the beach. It was perfect to practice social distancing as there was no one around us withing 200 meters on both sides of the beach. Water was so clear that we saw a nursing shark or something that looked like that couple of feet away from us. The only downside was that one of us unknowingly stepped into a tar and it was quite a struggle to get it off the foot and bathtub, so watch your step:) Main parking was closed but you can park on the highway and walk down to the beach.
Nice beach! Unfortunately we went there on Labor Day weekend and it was packed and parking was extremely difficult. But, overall its a nice beach.
Nicholas Canyon Beach used to be beautiful and clean.... After the fires in the area over a year ago, the place is gone downhill! The beach is usually full of mountains of algae that attract flies! You have to walk a long way to find a descent spot.... Only portable restrooms available. Not good for swimming.... Lots of rocks bounce off your feet leaving bruises and sometimes draw blood!
Nice beach. Relaxing, cool, a fun place to go with your friends or just to relax
A great place to stop for a quick swim and to cool off the dogs
Amazing whats in our backyard. Sounds of the Ocean and Setting Sun.
Good small stretch of beach a bit tricky to get to but good spot. Lots of surfers.
Good for surfing, not recommend for swimming, too strong of waves.
Spent day there with my RB️️Ill cherish those moments for ever !
Good surf spots , but a lot crowd
THE MOST AMAZIN SUNSET AND NEVER CROWDED!!! ALWAYS A GOOD TIME
Me and my husband just love it here
Nice and a unique beach, so beautiful!
Nice beach, not too many people, perfect
6a-9a $3 per hour 9a-3p $5 per hour 3p-sunset $3 per hour
Somewhat easy parking, porta potty bathrooms...
WOW. X 100 SO BEAUTIFUL
This is a dope spot tucked away
Beautiful beach with always available parking $10 flat rate till 6pm, and $3 after 6pm. Always not crowded and clean. Great place to surf.
Easy parking. Maybe 30 steps down to the sand. Best point break in SoCal. Big waves + long rides. Fun to watch em. And you may come upon some terrific driftwood sculptures on the beach.
Great beach thats not that crowded
Must visit beach . You can have family fun day there
Its a nice little beach for what it is and not too busy, so dont expect iconic Malibu here. There is a Native American village set up. Nice vistas from a small trail along the cliffs where I enjoyed painting the view, but forgot to save that photo. All I have to remember is my painting.
Nice place, some good fishing
Went for a swim. Had fun.!
Calm and beautiful view not so crowded .
What a great beach with a variety of nature. Tide pools, fresh water stream running into the ocean. Beautiful rocks to climb on. Great beach for the kids too!
Went here for a beach clean up. It actually is naturally quite clean as all the trash washes to the top of the beach at high tide so you can play on the beach and in the water with nothing to fear. The main activity here is wind surfing, as it is always very windy here. So not the best place to relax and enjoy a quiet afternoon on the beach. They were a joy to watch and everyone performed very well as the conditions were perfect.
I loved this place. Beautiful homes.
Nice place apart
Is beautiful place
With parking & bbqs on the top & sturdy stairs to walk down, this is a great beach. Showers on the mid level where the life guards are, a surfers & wind sailers for days, theres plenty to stay entertained. My favorite beach in So. Cal, by far!
A great little beach nestled along the highway.
Beautiful beach and picnic area
Good surf spot. Nice views.
The Ward House was built here for the movie 1941.
Naturally beautiful
Not alot of people really big waves!!
Relaxing, not crowded.....perfect to catch some waves and a little sun
Cali beaches
Nice place
My beach and no IBKs allowed
Good for wind and waves, not so much for lounging
Used to be a super low-key chill spot years ago. Still nice to visit, but there will usually be a decent amount of people. Also, a great place to surf.
Nice beach. No bathrooms, only port-a-potties
Unless its a really big surf day, Nicholas (AKA Zeros) is one of those hidden gem beaches in north LA County. Plenty of sand to take a long walk, and there is a lifeguard here most of the time. Good reef for snorkeling and scuba diving when conditions are calm. Very basic facilities. Parking is reasonable, or you can always park on PCH and walk into the parking lot
One of the best surf spots.
Amazing little creatures and landforms
Its burnt!! But nature will return and man will rebuild. Life goes on still.
Perfectly secluded beach that almost no one knows about. Id like to keep it that way so if youre thinking about writing a review, dont. Keep this beach as low key as possible
Bbq and beach...excllent
No dogs no food no drink on the beach
Great views. Although they did add paid parking.
Kally IS the best lifeguard EVER , BEAUTIFUL SITE....,lots to do ....
There are less people on this beach than others. Gorgeous Beach!
This is zeros! So many great days of surf,,,used to be a dirt lot. Great lefts
Good for the fans of the movie City Of Angels:)
Love the cultural experience!
Nice place too bad they dont allow my paws on the beach
Beautiful place to hang out and spend some time !
Amazing stop along PCH to catch the views and picturesque Pacific sunsets!
Sweetness!
A great little spot to bring your dog and have a picnic in the cliffs overlooking the ocean
Good place to meditate and walk the dog
Lots of surfers and it’s always windy. The concrete columns that held up the road are all gone now
Beautiful spot, with rocky tidal pools, wild flower / succulent covered cliffs and stunning coves.
Loved coming here in the 80s when it was Zeros and had campfires and Coronas!
Shhhh hidden secret.....
Grate family spot lots of fun
Just beautiful!
Good surf
Nice secluded area on PCH. Nice Beach with beautiful soft sand.
The boys & I scored five-foot walls on dawn patrol here
Super windy, great for kiteboarding, but nothing else
Pretty rocky beach to chill and surf with grassy picnic area.
It was nice
Beach has stair access and Porto potties. Has parking meters but you can park out on the road for an extra 2 min walk.
My beach! Stay away!
Nice place for family picnic. (No Bbq!)
Too much trash
Peaceful
Awesome views.
Perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun and sand.
There are better beaches down the road.
Zeros! Good surf spot.
Zeros!
A bit expensive but the beach is amazing. You can park on the PCH for free nearby
Nice beach for diving and surfing
A1 ride!
Relaxing, loved it!!!!
