Near the northern border of Malibu right along the Pacific Coast Highway is this sweet rest spot. Its named in memory of Dan Block who iconically played one of the lead characters on one of the most iconic classic TV Westerns Bonanza. It was Dan who wrote and directed the first episode about Black folks called The Wish, and guest starring the great Ossie Davis. Although this sweet spot is at the ocean there is no access to the beach. There are some picnic tables and stone beaches for resting and watching. There are restrooms. There is a parking fee but not enforced unless a ranger shows up. It is minimal though, about $1.00 an hour. There is a way to access the beach but not from the rest stop. Its just for viewing the magnificent waves of the Pacific Ocean.

Lots of sea gulls and sea weed but very clean people were fairly decent and polite.

Great spot to relax

One cant get down to the beach here. I remember Dan Blocker, Hoss, from Bonaza when I was a kid. I remember my mom and dad talking about him drowning. I assumed it was in this area?

Wonderful picnic views

This is a hidden paradise. Just beautiful. You can walk along the shore (if its a low-tide), Sun bathing, or watch the amazing sunset(s). You enjoy few birds, the peace, the sound of the waves, and the fresh air of course. Beautiful CA.

Very refreshing

Its a parking lot with picnic tables and a restroom. Area is clean. The county charges for parking here. Mon - Fri disabled parking bearers pay $0 but, pay the normal rate on the weekend. Finally, there is no beach access here. To get to the beach u must walk about 1 block north or south to gain access. Once you are actually on the beach there is plenty of room to enjoy mother nature.

The restrooms are often occupied with homeless, but the view is great. Dog enforcement is on full patrol.

The water was very murky and cold. However that didnt stop my family from enjoying the waves and privateness.

We got married on this beach and spent the best day here ever so I have to give it 5 stars. Unfortunately / fortunately there is no public access so its very private.

Nice, small, convenient overlook for a sunset. Watch out, the entrance comes up quickly when coming from the north.
