Great lake when the blue algae and ecoli havent struck yet. Coming for years and is one of our favorite swimming, fishing, and camping lake!

Great lake plenty of space to fish or camp. There is clean outhouses with plenty of space inside. I have caught bass, catfish and sunfish out the lake but nothing over 2 pounds yet. There is a smaller town near but with a gas station and true value.

One of my favorite lakes in this area of Nebraska. Good job keeping it clean and campers do great. Wonderful place to take family.

Nice campground, kept clean, our only complaint was that we drove several hours to get here to camp, kayak, and swim. When we got to the swim beach there was a sign stating that due to bacteria in the water, swimming was NOT recommended. It would have been nice to know that before we got there.

Edit as of 7/15/2018: Kayak, canoe and SUP put in area on south side of like is not well monitored and as a result is overrun with swimmers, people just using beach area, and boats docking. Even with a No Swimming sign it is ignored by virtually everyone taking up space here. No longer a good place to paddle. Super sad to see it slide because park staff aren’t making visits and enforcing areas. I’ve observed countless paddlers having to cart their boats from way up the drive because other people there aren’t using the put in correctly.Respectful boaters and campers alike, best place to be in this area. Great swimming beach, good facilities, enough shoreline for a longer paddle on the kayak. The separate canoe/kayak put in makes my day!!!! Nothing but great experiences here for years, camping and kayaking.

Plenty of campsites with electricity, close enough to Hickman that you can run in for bait and a bite

Well taken care of area, clean lake, clean grounds. Would camp here again and again. The best, well kept lake I had camped at this year!

I always enjoy this park. Far enough away from town to feel like camping, but close enough to get home when you need to. Its day site was run over by geese and goslings that were adorable.The camping sites are spaced nicely and have what you need. Nice waterfront and boat launch and the lake is good for water skiing or tubing.Facilities are kept nice and clean making this park a joy to visit.

Used to be a decent lake for fishing. Hasnt been for a few years, for me anyway. Wish you could drive the dam. Or more paths around the lake for walking or biking would be nice

Nice quiet camping and big catfish

I knew this place was here somewhere, but not a single sign. Just figured the directions out with GPS despite advice that the road in was closed. I couldnt tell whether the place was open or not, but I just assumed it was. Lots of gunshots early the next morning. Neat old cemetery close to the campground.

Wagon Train is always one of my familys favorite camping destinations. its very peaceful, generally not a large crowd, and a nice lake to swim, kayak, fish.We always come back, good proximity to Lincoln and Omaha and Im at ease nearby if you need to get supplies.

If you are bored of going all the time same parks in Lincoln, then this is the one you should definitely try once. Little away out of the town with a big enough lake and enough picnic and walking areas.

Really quick drive from Lincoln. Cute little area with trails around the lake. Plenty of frogs to catch :)Our dog loves to visit and play

Well kept, nice roomy campsites, plenty of room for kids to play (and adults), nice scenery, off the beaten path.

Its a no-wake lake, thats good for recreational swimming, kayaking, fishing, and other activities. Theres a nice Beach area, and a big grassy area for grilling and chilling. Make you get a park pass or sticker because its patrolled regularly by rangers and you dont want a ticket.

Really enjoyed the day looking out over the lake and taking in the fresh air.

We fish this lake numerous times a year for different tournament series. Weve caught some good sized fish and always release back. My only complaint is I wish people would CPR more for they can grow in size instead of keeping them.

Its a nice to place to hang out with family and friends to cook out, go camping, or just spend time swimming in the lake. Once you get your sticker for the year or for the day its well worth going to Wagen train. Everytime I am there its usually well kept clean and sometimes they can keep the sand grated and nice and smooth

It was a nice comfortable night & morning & the fish was biting from the bank! Caught 3 nice catfish that were keepers!! Couldnt be any better fishing with my Nephew!!!

Nice lake slightly hidden and not as known as others. Few tables, fewer shaded tables but plenty of trees.

I love this hidden gem. Just right outside of Lincoln to get away and relax

During the summer we try to take the kids to this lake at least once a week. Very family friendly. Even if it seems to be crowded the beach area is big enough to handle a lot of people...always plenty of room to swim and have fun in the sun!

A fun place to spend the afternoon! You can swim when the weather is nice. Camping is great (both tent and camper). Options for hiking as well. My family has many great memories here!

Actully pretty good for my 1st time there .was not crowded and the lake was in great shape .the bathrooms there really need action taken onnthe as they were super dirty and smelled very badly ! Besides that all around a great place to go ! Will be going back

I swim often its local to where I live and the people there are fine 7 out of ten also ment for 4 and a half star review phone is stupid lol any way if your local its a great way to cool off

Great camping, fishing, and beach for hanging with family and friends. Entire lake is No Wake. Pontoon, fishing boats, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks et cetera are allowed and encouraged!

Had a lot of fun here there was a lot of algae though.

The water is good. There are marked trails that are not maintained. We walked about 30 yards before we turned around... it was too overgrown. But the beach and the canoeing were great.

Great fun fishing for crappie! This place is beautiful, and the swimming g beach is very clean.

Good lake for fishing and swimming! People arent great about picking up after themselves, though, and if you venture into tall grass in search of a fishing spot, youll want to protect yourself from chiggers.

I was out there today for 5 hours. I walked the beach and picked up trash. I dont mind it but we didnt see one Game Warden. The beach isnt even a beach. Its all pebbles with dirt/sand mixture. Glass all over the beach.

Free getaway location in Nebraska this ones hard to beat kayak access boat launch area and several campsite.
